Chapter 57 Cook for Me

“Cook for me,” Kerwin said briefly. “You can cook for me to repay me.”

Betty opened her eyes wide and couldn’t believe her ears.

“So easy?” She said in disbelief. “But the dishes I cook aren’t delicious.”

Compared with Lillian’s, her cooking skills were nothing.

Kerwin was such a picky eater. Why did he want to eat the food she made?

“What?” Kerwin raised his eyebrows. “Aren’t you willing?”

“No.” Betty asked, “How many meals do I need to cook to offset 60,000 dollars?”

“What do you think?” Kerwin turned the question over to her.

Betty was baffled by this question.

It usually cost her several hundred dollars a meal in the restaurant. It seemed reasonable that she made over a hundred meals to offset the debt.

“How about one hundred?” She asked carefully.

Looking at Betty’s thoughtful look, he felt her very cute and curled his lips into a faint smile. “Deal.”

“What do you want to eat?”

“I don’t know,” Kerwin said slowly. “Make your famous dishes.”

“No.” Since every meal was worth 600 dollars, Betty believed that she needed to cook meals

tailored to Kerwin’s requirements. “Actually, I am not good at cooking. How about I try out new

recipes tomorrow?”

“OK.” Kerwin cracked a smile.

The next day was the weekend. Kerwin had a meeting to attend to, so he left home early in the

morning

After Betty got up, she downloaded digital versions of recipes and studied them.

When she spent time with him, she noticed that he liked spicy food, so she decided to cook spicy

After she worked on it for the whole morning, she was done cooking it and took a photo of it. She sent the photo to Kerwin and asked him about his favorite food on WhatsApp.

In the conference room of Tylman Group.

The department directors were having presentations cautiously one after one.

“Mr. Martin. This is all about the quarterly report.” A middle-aged man wiped the sweat off his face and asked carefully, “Are you satisfied with it?”

Kerwin flipped through the files with his slender figures. His face betrayed no emotions. “Do you think I should be satisfied?”

The directors present broke out in cold sweat.

“Wel… How can I make it better?”

“Too many mistakes,” Kerwin said briefly and threw the files out with a long face. “Redo it.”

Silence fell.

Albeit disabled, Kerwin was a decisive man in the eyes of the staff in Tylman Group. They believed it was because of Kerwin that Tylman Group could develop so well.

“Y-Yes, Mr. Martin.” The middle-aged man took back his files nervously. Trembling, the next

director was ready to give his presentation. Right on cue.

Ding

The ringtone sounded in this silent room.

The people present went pale and looked around nervously.

They were searching for the person who dared to unmute his or her phone.

When they exchanged looks, Kerwin remained calm and darted a look at his phone screen that lit

On the screen was a photo sent by Betty.

Kerwin swiped to unlock his phone and saw the dishes in the photo and Betty’s message.

(Creditor, which food do you want to eat?]

She added an emoji.

Seeing Kerwin take his phone, they realized it was Kerwin’s phone that rang out just now.

They exchanged incredulous looks.

Kerwin was a workaholic and he never used his phone at work unless he had to deal with things over the phone. They couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Kerwin reading messages on WhatsApp.

Before they regained their composure, something more astonishing happened.

Kerwin cast down his eyes on the phone and a smile lifted the corner of his sexy thin lips.

All of them present widened their eyes in astonishment.

Were they seeing wrong, or was Kerwin smiling?

Lots of them in the room had worked for Kerwin since he established Tylman Group. However, they had never seen his smile!

Betty who was busy cooking in the kitchen couldn’t imagine the photos she sent caused a stir in Tylman Group. When she browsed more recipes, her phone rang.

She fetched the phone and saw Kerwin’s message.

[I want all of them.)

So greedy. Betty’s mouth twitched. She ate one of the dishes herself. In the afternoon, she remade those dishes.

In the evening, when Kerwin went back home, he saw the table full of dishes and Betty doing chores in the kitchen.

Kerwin felt such a moment touching and couldn’t help but curl his lips into a smile.

“Welcome back.” Betty noticed Kerwin and hurried out of the kitchen. “Wash your hands and then enjoy dinner. I made a lot of dishes. Eat as much as you can. I can put the rest into the meal boxes and take

them to the company.”

“Don’t bother.” Kerwin sat down. “I can finish.”

Betty didn’t take it personally. The dishes were enough to feed four people. How could they two finish them?

But it turned out that Kerwin could eat more than she could imagine. He seems to have a very good appetite today and even ate up all the dishes she made.

Seeing this, Betty was dumbfounded. Though she had a lot of meals with Kerwin, she never found that Kerwin had such a big appetite.

On Sunday, Betty prepared meals for Kerwin as she did yesterday.

On Monday, Betty went to work.

Betty liked to get to work before, but she felt it terrible to go to work after Jeffrey became EIC. She wished to not meet him at work.

Sadly, things went contrary to her wishes. Not long after, she went to her desk and sat down. Nicole

walked to her and said anxiously, “Betty, I have an interview this afternoon. Sort through the files and take them to the EIC office.”

Betty took over them and frowned. “Nicole, I need to work on tomorrow’s interview this afternoon. Could you ask others to do that?”

Before Nicole made a reply, Lydia said sarcastically, “Huh? Miss White, could you stop playing hard to get? Everyone knows your intimate relationship with Jeffrey. You don’t have to put on an act, okay?”

Betty was surprised at Lydia’s words. Looking at Lydia who started working here at the same period as her, Betty couldn’t help but frown, “Lydia, don’t talk nonsense.”

“Am I talking nonsense, or are you afraid of being seen through?” Lydia sneered and glanced at Betty. “Betty, don’t take others as fools.”
