Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me

Chapter 83 Please Forgive Me

Chapter 83 Please Forgive Me

"What do you know? You called it trivial, a small matter… So in your eyes, the pain of losing your

mother is insignificant? Wesley, you don't understand a thing, how could you just brush it off like that?"

The woman's eyes were red and filled with tears; one couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards her.

But not Wesley, again he didn't bat an eyelid, he looked at her plainly, though he could feel a weird

tingle in his heart.

"Enough, I will find Colin for you." His voice sounded impatient; he then said demandingly, "Stop

crying."

Harriet tried to hold back her tears forcefully, she looked the other side, trying not to show her

weakness.

The heartless man wouldn't even let her lament about the situation.

He was obviously fed up with her, he would definitely coax her with sweet words if she were Louisa.

She had to be physically and mentally exhausted at this point, but Harriet was just too stubborn to give

up. But the matter of fact was that she immediately fell into slumber the moment she got home.

However, she couldn't sleep well at all. She was calling for Colin and searching for him even in her

sleep, Wesley frowned upon seeing it.

"Jack, make a report about Harriet's family background." he closed the door and instructed his

subordinate through a phone call.

It wasn't as if he never looked into Harriet's family background before, it was just that he never really

paid much attention to it. He didn't really care about how many family members she had and what the

situation was like at home. But now, it piqued his interest to look a bit into her past.

It was the next morning when Harriet woke up, and a bizarre scene unfolded into her eyes. Wesley was

lying down next to her, he never left her side.

Wesley opened his eyes when she was just about to move, it was as if he was waiting for her to wake

up.

"Colin called," Wesley took the lead and said, "He said he wants to be alone for two days and will not

come over."

Harriet felt relieved. Saying something like that was good enough proof that he had accepted the truth.

"Did he mention anything else?"

Wesley inched towards her slightly, "He told you to take care."

Harriet looked dim, the man continued speaking, "I couldn't sleep well after receiving the phone call last

night. How would you make up for it?"

"I didn't ask you to take the phone call." Harriet was not in a good mood, her tone wasn't restraining or

pretending like it usually sounded.

Wesley edged on, "If it wasn't for me you would've missed the phone call. You were sleeping so

deeply."

Well, he wasn't wrong, Harriet thought to herself. No matter how, he did help her out for a bit yesterday,

and thus she said straightforwardly, "Thank you."

"Don't just thank me verbally."

Harriet raised her eyes at him, "Mr. Smith, I'm sorry but I have no energy to serve you right now.

However, I don't know how else I could've thanked you. How about we wait until I recover, and then you

can do whatever you want?"

Wesley declined to comment, he stood up and said, "I took a day off on your behalf, rest well at home

before meeting up with your crew again."

"Mr. Smith, don't you think that you are acting weird?" Harriet stared at him and said, "You are way too

concerned about me recently. Do you normally care for your bed partners like this?"

"Of course," Wesley answered indifferently as he glanced over her.

Harriet smiled plainly, "And here I thought that you were slowly falling in love with me, it was just a false

alarm I guess."

He knew that she was just pulling his legs, but Wesley's heart still skipped a beat. Though it didn't show

on his face, he was wearing his usual sneer.

"Better take good care of your body, otherwise you will get even less affection than this from me."

"I thank you Mr. Smith for your kind advice," Harriet kept a straight face and replied defiantly, "It's just

you, Mr. Smith. You always did everything your way, if you feel like it, you will stop caring about me. It

won't matter if I'm alive or not."

Sarcasm wasn't the best way to have a romantic conversation.

"Harriet, I really think you should put more heart into pleasing me, not talking back whenever the

chance arises." Wesley fixed his cufflinks and continued saying, "You should understand the most, that

I'm not a man of patience."

With the man's warning, Harriet quit while she was ahead, "I would never talk back to you, I just speak

without thinking sometimes. I'm sorry in advance if anything I said offended you Mr. Smith, please

excuse me."

Wesley glared at her coldly, he took small strides and left the room.

Harriet felt a bit dejected watching the sight of the man leaving the room. She thought that Wesley

would ask about what happened yesterday, but the man wasn't even a bit curious.

It was as if he was just a stranger to her, she was even pretending, teasing him and saying that he

cared for her, she was obviously just making a fool out of herself.

The anti-fan incident that happened the other day wasn't spreading like wildfire in the news under

Wesley's order. It didn't gain any traction and was only talked about among the crew for a short period

of time. Because of an investigation, the truth was also laid bare.

The anti-fan was Irene's hardcore fan, the person believed in the false rumours online and was certain

that Harriet was the one making Irene disappear from the scene, and hence the person took the risk

and caused a scene.

Cinema City, among a certain crew…

"Sigh, it was all because I was too careless, I didn't protect Harriet in time and got you involved, Miss

Whitty." Molly was apologizing to Cherry in the dressing room.

Cherry immediately replied, "Don't say that, it was an accident, how could I blame you for it?"

But Molly still felt guilty about it.

At this moment, voices of Harriet and some members of the crew were approaching from a distance,

Molly turned around and looked at her, her eyes were a bit red, "Harriet, how are you feeling?"

Molly wasn't with the crew today, she wasn't with Harriet either, as she was fired. She was here visiting

as a friend.

"Molly, I was planning to go meet you after work, it's a coincidence that you are here." Harriet smiled

faintly, she didn't forget to greet Cherry as well, "Miss Whitty, are you okay now?"

"I'm fine, it wasn't anything serious," Cherry inched closer proactively and asked with a familiar tone,

"Harriet, I have an important question to ask you, what is the relationship between you and Mr. Smith?"

Harriet knew that she couldn't avoid the question, after all this woman saw it with her own eyes, that

Wesley brought her out of the ward."

"Well…" NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

She was planning to brush over the situation, but Molly who was next to her interrupted and explained,

"Actually recently Mr. Smith had realized Harriet's talent potential, and hence he wanted to give her

more exposure. But Harriet kept hurting herself accidentally, that's why Mr. Smith paid more attention to

her. I mean, everybody knew that Mr. Smith also attended Harriet's wrap party."

Harriet was impressed by Molly's smooth talk, with just a few sentences she made Wesley seem like a

boss who cares about talent and his subordinates, and Harriet was the rising star who was devoted

and passionate about her career, and that they had a perfectly normal boss-subordinate relationship.

Before finishing her sentence, she also added quirkily, "Oh right, Miss Whitty, please don't tell anybody

else what I just said, we don't want to give Harriet more hatred."

Cherry's facial expression stiffened up for a bit, she then regained her composure and said jokingly, "I

see, Harriet is definitely worthy of more training and exposure, there aren't many actors in Pleasure

Media who are as capable, Harriet could definitely help to promote the company. You guys can trust

me, I won't say a word."

Harriet laughed brightly, "I will work hard and become the capable actor you believe in."

Cherry and Harriet's relationship was more on friendly terms after the incident, before that they didn't

really talk to each other. From time to time now they would discuss the script and the characters'

personalities, from an outsider point of view it looked like they got along very well.
