Chapter 166
Maja averted her gaze, not feeling any strong emotions. At most, like everyone else in Greenfield, she
couldn’t help but adore this famous handsome couple from the entertainment world.
But still, she felt that lan’s taste really sucked.
Although she didn’t know much about Carlene, every word and action of Carlene’s suggested that she
was a schemer.
And he even kept a woman who loved him deeply by his side as a spy. Just for his sweetheart, he
could actually bear it. Everyone was silent all the way, until they reached the first floor and stopped.
Out of politeness, Maja lagged a bit behind them.
lan walked out, followed by a few executives.
Maja had originally planned to go directly to the studio, but she remembered the task her father had
given her for tonight. She had to take lan to the Pennyfeather family.
To tell the truth, given how much lan disliked her as his wife, even if she was suddenly critically ill, he
wouldn’t visit her at the Pennyfeather’s, unless he was forced to do so by Holden. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Maja was tired of playing this cat and mouse game with lan, but because of the contract, she had to
keep up the act.
The most important work time had been settled, and next she would start getting busy with
procurement.
But every time she thought about how tired she was every day, and had to carefully avoid lan when she
got home, she felt annoyed,
Maja sighed as she heard her phone ring. It was a call from the bank.
The money from selling her house was in her account!
Her eyes lit up, thinking that she had been having bad luck recently, but now there was finally
something to be happy about. “Okay, I got it, I’ll make up the rest of the money right away.”
The eight hundred thousand from lan need not be repaid, which really saved her a lot of money. She
owed him too much, and the least she could do for him was to stay away from him with the identity of
his wife and not disturb his reunion with his sweetheart. Maja knew her limits, and she would do this
even if lan didn’t ask her to.
Then she went to the house to complete the rest of the contract.
The previous owner had already renovated the house, so she could move in with just her bags.
Maja couldn’t wait to go to Rosewood Manor and start moving her stuff.
Seeing this, Maria was a bit worried.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, this isn’t a good idea. You didn’t live at Rosewood Manor before. Now that Holden
is back, he comes over often. He isn’t as easily fooled as others. Last time he personally went to see
Mr. Raymond’s room and didn’t seem too pleased. If your stuff is missing too, it will be hard to keep this
a secret.”
Maria meant well.
Maja suddenly had a headache. Indeed, now that Grandpa Holden was back in Greenfield, what
worried him the most was her relationship with lan..
She was a bit deflated, so she put down some of her luggage.
“I’ll move some stuff over first and will come back often. But I can’t let Coco stay in the back room
anymore, I’m going to take Coco over first.”
The villa at Rosewood Manor was really nice, Coco could play as much as he wanted there.
If only lan weren’t there.
Maja’s current house was indeed nice, but it was still a bit inferior compared to Rosewood Manor.
Maria knew she couldn’t dissuade her, so she didn’t try anymore.
She now understood that Ms. Pennyfeather had no feelings for Mr. Raymond. If Mr. Raymond knew
that the woman he had always disdained didn’t appreciate him either, she wondered how he would
feel.
Maja took half her stuff to her new home, which was actually just a small suitcase.
After putting all her clothes in the closet, she took Coco to familiarize themselves with the new
environment.
Coco adapted to the new environment very smoothly, barking a few times inside, and then stood at the
door, looking across.
“He’s so cute.”
A surprised voice of a woman came from the door, and then she started whining to the man next to
her.
“I want a puppy too, can I have one?”
Maja was sweeping the floor, heard this, looked up, and saw Ryan at the door, and a strange woman in
his arms.
This house was worth over a million, and was always referred to as the rich area. But Maja never
thought that Ryan’s new girlfriend would live right across from her.
And the design of the house was two units per floor, plus it was a five–story building and she had
bought the fifth floor. In other words, on this floor, it was only her and Ryan’s new girlfriend.
