Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 177

lan was in his way to the hospital when he got a call from Ryan.

Ryan said a lot, and then added, “After all, she did paint a picture for you.”

lan looked at the approaching nightfall outside and the lights coming on.

The atmosphere was very much like that in the painting.

He had to admit, the painting was very well done.

The car eventually stopped at the address Ryan provided. The housing prices in this neighborhood

were not cheap. She had mentioned moving before, and it seemed she was moving here.

Maja had been waiting downstairs for lan ten minutes ahead of their meeting time, not daring to keep

him waiting.

But she’d been soaking in the bath for so long that by the time she woke up, the water had turned cold.

Now she felt light–headed and dizzy, her vision blurry.

It wasn’t until lan’s car stopped in front of her that she came to her senses, weakly opening the car

door.

“Mr. Raymond, I’m really sorry for troubling you.”

Her voice was raspy. He could tell something was off with her.

“Are you sick?”

lan asked calmly, his eyes on her cheeks.

Her cheeks had an unnatural flush, and her eyes were full of tears.

She leaned back in the seat, closing her eyes.

“I’m not feeling well. I’m really sorry about what happened to Ms. Raymond. The police will make the

final decision.”

She must have a fever; her whole body felt hot.

Going to the hospital now, she didn’t have time to buy a gift. And it was lan’s car, she couldn’t make

him wait for her to buy a gift, halfway there. This time, she would have to go empty–handed and make

up for it later.

The car was very quiet, Jeff was driving upfront, honking several times.

It was rush hour, and the roads were congested with vehicles.

The car was stuck in the traffic, unable to move.

Maja sat with her eyes closed, her mind in a jumble. Her body felt uncomfortably hot, as if all the

moisture in her cells was being burned away.

lan, sitting not far from her, could also feel the heat from her body.

Her cheeks were burning bright.

“Penny?”

lan frowned, rubbing his temples. Just then, Maureen called to ask if he was with Penny.

“lan, Ryan says she’s not feeling well. You don’t need to bring her to see me.”

Maureen didn’t know that lan had already picked up Maja, so she continued to persuade, “Let her rest.

She must have gotten quite a shock today.”

lan was about to speak when he felt a weight on his shoulder.

The heat–from–Maja’s body had seeped through his clothes.

The space in the car was tight, he could even feel her hot breath on his ear.

lan stiffened for a moment, ending the call with Maureen then asked the driver, Jeff.

“Jeff, is the traffic jam ahead serious?” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

“Yes, it’s rush hour, and this road has been very congested.”

“Let’s drive back.”

Jeff was taken aback, but didn’t say anything, and turned at the next intersection.

The car stopped at Maja’s residence. There was a pharmacy nearby.

lan opened the car door, lightly nudging Maja.

But Maja was feeling very unwell, her vision was blurry.

“Mr. Raymond, are we there?”

She instinctively wanted to get out of the car, but she had no strength and nearly fell.

lan’s brows furrowed, he quickly reached out to catch her, pulling her back.

The force caused them to lean back against the car.

Jeff had already gotten out of the car to help, but seeing this, wisely got back in.

Maja realized she had bumped into someone and hurriedly tried to back away.

“Don’t move.”

lan’s voice was cold, “This is your residence. You have a fever. Call your husband to come pick you

up.”

In such poor physical condition, she still wanted to go out.

Maja’s blurry eyes filled with tears. She didn’t really understand what lan was saying, she just nodded

mechanically. Thinking she understood, lan put her on a bench nearby.

“You wait for him here. He should come here to pick you up.”
