Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1909

Fitch's gentleness only seemed to fuel Zoey's frustration.

After dinner, she noticed the bodyguards Fitch had sent to escort her.

Fitch was dead set on taking her back to Greenfield, and her whole being screamed resistance. "Fitch, can we just talk for a moment? Even if you do like me, can't you at least hear me out?"

Fitch had already sent Nolan to the car, leaving him and Zoey alone in the foyer.

"Zoey, do I figure into your demands at all? Am I in your future plans? If not, I'm not interested."

Zoey was left speechless by his blunt statement.

She truly didn't want to leave Zion City. She loved it there, and the mere thought of Greenfield sent shivers down her spine.

Overwhelmed by her emotions, she suddenly felt a pain in her stomach, her face turning pale instantly.

Fitch noticed something was off and called out, "Zoey?"

Zoey slowly sat down, sweating profusely and gasping for air.

"What's wrong, Zoey?"

Fitch touched her forehead, only to find it covered in cold sweat.

"I'm taking you to the hospital!"

Zoey bit her lip, saying nothing, her eyelashes casting shadows on her pained expression.

Fitch quickly drove her to the hospital.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

After receiving treatment, the doctor, with a worried frown, advised, "You really need to take care of yourself. You're severely depleted. Have you had a child? You haven't recovered yet. Be careful, and think twice before having another. Your body has suffered from malnutrition in childhood, and now you've experienced the trauma of childbirth. If you're not careful, even a minor cold could knock you out."

Zoey, sitting on the hospital bed, retorted, "I've never had a child."

The doctor glanced at Fitch, a flicker of understanding in his eyes.

He assumed she didn't want the man beside her to know, deducing they weren't married but possibly in a relationship. He had seen similar cases in the hospital before, where young women made mistakes and found it hard to discuss their past with a new partner.

Respecting her privacy, he dropped the subject.

"Just take care," he advised before leaving.

Zoey was uncomfortable, insistent on her truth despite the doctor's conviction.

She looked at Fitch, expecting him to inquire about the child, but he simply sat down. "Feeling any better?"

Zoey turned away, leaning back to ease her stomach pain.

Fitch handed her a pillow to support her back.

Her body felt chilly, her limbs icy.

The chill dissipated, and she felt slightly awkward.

Fitch took off his jacket and placed it at the head of the bed.

Though it wasn't cold outside, Zoey's frailty made her feel chilled.

Covered by his jacket, she felt much better.

With the atmosphere between them somewhat softened, she finally spoke up.

"Fitch, I really don't want to go back to Greenfield."
