Chapter 62
Ace’s PoV
“The time has come for us to end this once and for all, Edward,” I challenged as he clutched his teeth.
“Unice, take cover!” I yelled. I grabbed my pump action shotgun when Edward began to draw his gun.
“Ace, you’re going to die right here! Together with your girlfriend,” Edward exclaimed, but I remained calm, knowing I needed to outrun him. He continued shooting after the bullets ran out, and it was now my turn to take the spot.
I fired my shotgun as he took cover. Without hesitation, I ran towards Unice, destroying the furniture in my house.
She was frightened while I checked to see if she was hurt.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” As she nodded, I questioned her.
“Our plan didn’t work out, but luckily I have another plan, which is to take him out the old-fashioned way,” I said as I loaded my pump action shotgun.
“Come out there, you coward, and face me!” When Edward yelled, I grabbed a glass bottle, looked around for him, and threw the glass bottle at his head, hitting him.
“Argghh! How dare you!” Edward screamed in agony as he fired bullets in every direction.
“Unice, I need you to go to the basement and turn off the electricity generator so you can hide there. After you turn off the generator, I will knock five times on the door, so you know it’s me,” I told her as I handed her the flashlight and the 9mm pistol.
“How about you? How would you see in the dark?” Unice inquiry.
“Don’t worry about it now; I’ll provide cover on my mark, run as fast as you can, and don’t open the door until you hear me knock the door five times, got it?” I explained, and she nodded as she got ready.
“Remember, stay in the basement, turn off the generator, and don’t turn it back on if I don’t return. Use my 9mm pistol, remove the safety pin, and then fire” Unice quickly nodded as I instructed her.
“Ready? I will provide coverage on my mark,” I said to her as I prepared my pump action shotgun.
“Now!” I softly said as I aimed the shotgun at Edward’s location and fired five times until Unice ran.
“Ace, where are you shooting? You’re squandering your bullets!” Edward laughed as I reloaded my shotgun once more. It’s all up to Unice to get to the generator and turn it off.
I switch to my hunting rifle and gradually shift my position. Edward is just relentless in using his gun, as evidenced by his use of an Ingram. It’s a good thing I have some shortcuts in my mansion that only Unice and I know about.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
I slowly shut the door to one of the rooms and began climbing and crouching my way through the vents while turning on my night vision on my mask to see where I was going.
“Ace! I know you’re somewhere in this murder house of yours!” Edward yelled, but I stayed focused; I turned off the night vision in my mask and was in my garage.
I took cover and saw Edward’s car through the scope of my hunting rifle, so I took a deep breath and focused.
I aimed for his car’s gas filler and fired, and his car exploded. He won’t get away this time, so I reloaded my hunting rifle and remained silent.
Unice’s PoV
I reached for safety by running as fast as I could to the basement of his house.
“I will not leave this entirely to you, Ace,” I muttered as I made my way to the house’s electric generator.
“I hope you understand what you’re doing, and I hope this ends right now,” I murmured as I prepared the 9mm pistol and flashlight he had given me earlier.
I turned off his house’s generator, and it went black. I secured myself in the basement and will do as he instructed me earlier. I have to wait for him, and once I hear the five knock on the door, I know it’s him.
Ace’s PoV
Because Unice has already turned off the electricity, the mansion is pitch black. Fortunately, my mask has night vision, so I can see around me.
“Ace, you turned off the light! Why not put yourself out there?” Edward yelled
Moving across quickly, I could spot Edward, who was having difficulty looking around.
He pulls out his gun and his small flashlight, which he uses to scan the area while I hide. I prepare my silencer and put on my 9mm pistol so that no shots are heard from any direction.
As he turned around, I shot at his body three times with my 9mm pistol. Still, there was no avail, so I decided to hide again and reconsider my strategy.
“I’m wearing a bulletproof vest, Ace. Good try.” Edward is mocking me. It appears that I need to take a different approach to him.
As the smoke began to cover the area, I threw three smoke grenades to create some distraction.
“Come on out! Stop playing tricks and come face to face with me!” As he yelled, I continued firing his gone and wasting ammo while going around him unnoticed.
“You know I killed many people rather than you, and killing is an art if you want to add,” I assured Edward.
I fired my pump action shotgun at his location eight times before it ran out of ammo, and he fired back at me. We paused for a while, and I believe both of us ran out of bullets, so I checked my 9mm pistol.
“Looks like we’re out of ammo. Why don’t we settle this one-on-one, face-to-face, man?” I challenged him as I dropped my gear on the floor, not realizing he was behind me and catching me off guard.
“We’ll do it my way. Where’s Unice?” Edward inquired as I raised my hands and pointed his gun at my back.
“I thought you didn’t have another gun with you, okay? I’ll show you,” I said.
As he walks with his gun pointed at my back, he suddenly pushes me, which causes me to look back at him, but I remain calm because I know my chance to get him will come.
“Which way?” Edward asked. I pointed to the left. As we walked, I noticed he left my gear on the floor and stopped because he seemed surprised by what I had done.
“What are you up to? Keep moving,” Edward yelled, pointing the gun at my back. I felt compelled to push him again as I twisted to grab the gun from his grip, and it fired. I grabbed his head and smashed it against the wall, grabbed the gun, and hit him with it on the nose and cheek, causing him to bleed.
As I grabbed my baseball bat and gear, I knew I could easily beat Edward with my combat skills and knowledge.
I pulled out my machete, which he could dodge and block with my baseball mat as I swung hard to his stomach, hitting him and his back as hard as I could, and to his head as he managed to block it with his hand.
I quickly grabbed him with both hands and delivered a brutal punch to his nose, causing him to become dazed and pushing him away.
Hitting him with my right fist and a double combination with my left, I grabbed his neck and punched him.
Gripping him, I pushed him to the corner table, pummeling him three times with my right fist and knocking his head on the table as I vented my frustration on him.
He tried to choke me on the wall with his bare hands out of nowhere, and I managed to escape by whacking him in the face and bagging his face on the wall. He then tried to grab my neck, and I knocked him with the back of my head to escape his grasp, and I struck him with my left elbow to his left cheek as he tried to kick my face.
Pressing him to the corner of the wall and striking his face with my right knee once more.
I began strangling him with all of my strength, not caring what would happen to me as long as I avenged my family. He gasps for me as I continue to choke his life until he runs out of breath and snaps his neck.
It’s done; I’ve avenged my family and did everything I could. There was a lot of blood on my hands as I removed my mask and dumped Edwards’s lifeless body in one of the rooms as I headed to Unice, who was in the basement.
I was exhausted, but I reached her location and knocked on the door five times as she opened it, holding the 9mm gun I had given her.
“It’s over,” I stated. I noticed she was trembling and grabbed the gun.
“When you point a gun, you must be ready to pull the trigger. You can turn on the generator again. Sorry for the mess; I stored his body in one of the rooms.” I held my breath as she kissed and hugged me; I could tell she was worried.
“I’m fine. Let’s go to the rooftop and get some fresh air.” As we approached the roof, I suggested to Unice that I remove my black vest and combat gloves.
