Chapter 2
Angela raised an eyebrow, her eyes betraying no emotions. “Since I called you, it means I’ve already made up my mind.”
Brenda chuckled, starting the car. “I’ve been wanting you to kick Kenneth to the curb. You went through all the trouble to fix his leg, and he’s still entangled with your sister abroad. He’s truly a scumbag! Just forget about him and focus on becoming a billionaire!!
As Brenda spoke, her frustration grew, and she stepped on the gas even harder. Angela couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Hey, slow down. You’re not trying to get me killed right after I escaped from my marriage, are you?”
Hearing her teasing tone, Brenda felt much more relieved. Tentatively, she asked, “What are you planning to do next?”
She had already planned to seek Angela very soon even if Angela hadn’t contacted her.
“I’ll take some time off first. How’s the company doing recently?”
For the past few years, Angela had focused all her attention on Kenneth, leaving her clothing company, Empyria Group, in the hands of shareholders. Apart from collecting dividends, she hadn’t been involved in anything else during these three years.
She hadn’t bothered checking her account to see how much money was there. However, as long as they continued to operate according to the business plan she had set before leaving, it shouldn’t be doing too poorly.
At Angela’s question, Brenda’s expression changed. She sighed and said, “Let’s discuss that later…”
Angela raised an eyebrow. Seeing Brenda’s reaction, things probably weren’t going well.
But for now, she had no intention of taking over the company. She nodded and said, “Fine, just take me to the airport.”
“Where are you going?” Brenda asked.
“No idea. I’ll pick one from the departure information board, I guess.”
Angela tapped the car door absentmindedly. Her eyes were filled with indifference, but the weariness all over 1
be concealed.
Brenda sighed silently. It seemed that even someone as outstanding as Angela could lose her rationality when it came to emotions.
Upon reaching the airport, after getting out of the car, Angela looked at Brenda. “Please have my luggage sent to the villa at Northpoint.”
“Sure. How long will you be gone?” Brenda asked.
“About a month or so,” Angela replied.
“Okay, I will wait for you!”
Angela waved at Brenda, tumed, and walked into the airport.
Soon, a month had passed.

Chapter 2
One day, Kenneth was having a meeting at the Nebulora branch of Sinclair Group.
In a meeting room, Kenneth was discussing the development direction of the subsidiary for the next quarter with department managers when his phone suddenly rang.
Seeing it was from his mother, Donna Sinclar, Kenneth frowned, excusing himself, “Let’s take a five- minute break.”
As he stepped out of the meeting room, he answered the call. Donna’s displeased voice immediately came through the phone.
“Kenneth, I’ve been to the villa several times looking for Angela, but she’s never home. Did you two have a fight? Is she deliberately giving me the cold shoulder?”
Donna’s tone was filled with dissatisfaction and anger. She had never liked Angela, and this incident only worsened her impression of her.
Kenneth furrowed his brows, realizing that he had been swamped in Nebulora these days. At first, Kenneth expected Angela to call and apologize, but he had become so engrossed in work that he forgot about it.
Donna’s call made him realize that a whole month had passed without any contact from Angela, which was utterly unusual.
“I’ll call her later. What’s your business with her? Kenneth asked.
Donna impatiently replied, “Your grandmother’s birthday is approaching, and I wanted to ask Angela to pick a birthday gift for your grandmother. Who would have thought she would avoid me so deliberately? If only you had married Jennifer back then, things wouldn’t be…”
Kenneth interrupted her, his tone indifferent, “Fine. I’ll call her and get back to you,”
After hanging up, Kenneth immediately called Angela.
However, repeated attempts went unanswered.
Kenneth’s face darkened instantly. It became evident that Angela had blocked his calls.
Suppressing his anger, Kenneth turned to Kevin Brown, his assistant. “Call Angela!”
“Yes, sir.”
Kevin’s call wasn’t blocked, but there was still no answer.
Seeing Kenneth becoming increasingly gloomy, Kevin stammered, “Mr… Mr. Sinclair, she didn’t answer…”
Kenneth replied indifferently, “Fine. I’ll continue the meeting. Contact the property management of the villa.”
An hour later, as Kenneth left the meeting room, Kevin cautiously approached.
“Sir, the villa’s property management said that the day after you left for your business trip, Ms. Lewis left with her luggage.”
Since Kenneth and Angela had a secret marriage, Kevin always addressed Angela as Ms. Lewis.
Kenneth hadn’t found anything wrong with it before, but now he couldn’t help but frown.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
Suppressing the weird feelings deep inside, Kenneth coldly ordered, “Find out where she is now and book the earliest flight for us to return.”
