Chapter 1767 What Exactly Did You Want from Me
Chapter 1767 What Exactly Did You Want from Me
“What?”
Apparently, it was the first time Lucas apologized to someone. He felt a bit upset. Knowing that
Yasmeen looked curious at him, he felt increasingly embarrassed.
He threw his jacket to block her annoying gaze and jogged away.
Yasmeen felt a familiar freshness, and the next moment, her sight was dark. When she removed the
jacket, Lucas was gone.
She felt complicated. She felt glad and also sad.
She didn’t confess all to Lucas in the end.
But if she had a choice, she would never let him know anything about it.
After leaving the room, Lucas found no place to go.
Here is the Green’s and his home, but he still felt strange to it.
Well!
He had been living in the troops, and now he had a distant feeling to his home. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
While Lucas was in sadness, he suddenly saw that Joseph’s room was not close, and he walked
toward it at once.
“Joseph!”
Lucas knocked on the door politely, push it open, and entered.
Joseph was on his project. As Lucas came in, Joseph chanced a glance at him and said in an
undertone, “Sit. I gotta finish this formula first.”
“Okay.”
Lucas sat on the chair casually, picked an apple, and bit it without washing it.
It tasted quite sweet.
The sound that Lucas ate the apple was so clear in the quiet room that Joseph was interrupted and put
aside his project. He looked at his little brother Lucas, whom he grew up with didn't see often, and said,
"Go ahead. What can I do for you?"
“You finish?”
Lucas asked while knowing the answer, grinning. It was so annoying that Joseph wanted to kick his
ass.
Joseph sighed and put his project away, for he knew he would have no time to do it anymore today.
“What do you want from me? Why do you leave the beautiful Yasmeen alone and come to my room?”
“Joe, are you really going to get engaged?”
Lucas laid down his apple, looking seriously at Joseph.
He had been living in the troops, but he still had a good connection with Joseph and other siblings.
Joseph had been busy with his projects and had no time for dating. Why would he want to get engaged
suddenly?
Lucas was curious and worried about him.
Joseph knew he would have to tell the truth to his family. His parent hadn’t asked him, but Lucas came
for it first.
He blinked, tipped the golden-rim glasses on his nose upward a bit, and spoke in an expressionless
voice, “Yep.”
Lucas stuck his hand out, grabbed Joseph's glasses, and threw it on the table beside.
It was not short-sight glasses. The reason why Joseph wore glasses was that he wanted to give
women a bookworm impression and let them not waste their time on him.
As the glasses were removed, Joseph's big and bright eyes were seen clearly.
Joseph slightly raised his eyebrows.
He felt a bit awkward as he was seen through.
Joseph kneaded his temple and spoke resignedly, “What do you want from me?”
“Who is she? When did you two start the relationship? How could you hide it away from us? Or you are
different? You would like to marry first and then date?”
Lucas spat out his questions quickly, and it made Joseph annoyed.
Staring at Lucas, he leaned against his chair to relax utterly and said softly, "Lucas, I am in my late
twenties already. I am grown. I am a few months older than you. At what point do you think I will not be
responsible for my marriage and my life?"
“I can’t tell. You are a bookworm, and you suddenly tell us you are going to get engaged. What? Is she
pregnant?”
Lucas just guessed, but to his surprise, Joseph squinted slightly and her expression changed a little.
What was Lucas capable of?
He had insights.
His eyebrows were raised high.
“Joe, do you really make her pregnant?”
“Don’t tell everybody, especially mom and dad. As soon as we get engaged, everything will be fine.”
Lucas was dumbstruck to hear it.
He knew Joseph better than anyone else.
Joseph looked a bit silly when he was young. But after his mother died, he grew up quite soon. Among
all siblings, he was the most mature and self-disciplined one.
Lucas would believe it if it was Tanner who made a girl pregnant, but for Joseph, he just couldn’t
believe it.
Unless it was a plot.
Lucas suddenly narrowed his eyes.
“Did you bed with her out of your will? Or you were trapped?”
“Well, stop guessing. Can you just stay out of my business?”
Joseph felt a bit uncomfortable and pulled his collar.
Lucas’s face got dark immediately.
“I can stay out of it. But I have one question. Are you willing to marry her?”
“Yes.”
Joseph nodded.
In that case, what else could Lucas say?
He felt quite frustrated.
Lucas himself was in love now. Surely, he could tell that Joseph didn’t love the woman, for he couldn’t
see any joy or admiration in his eyes.
That’s not how a man in love was supposed to look like.
"Joe, does it because I haven't lived in the home for years and you feel distant to me? I still remember
we had fun together when we were young. Or do you think I am a bit annoyed now?
“Lucas.”
Joseph sighed bitterly.
He had let out sighs today when facing Lucas. He was not impatient. He said flatly, "I know what I am
doing. Have you seen me doing something stupid? I don't tell you about it not because I don't treat you
as my brother, but because I think I can handle it. I am in my twenties. I am not a teen anymore. I know
what I want."
Since Joseph was not willing to tell him what happened, Lucas would just have to quit.
He nodded, “Fine. I will send you my congratulation card. To here or to the research institute?”
"There is no need. Besides, you and Yasmeen are in a relationship too, right? At what time do you plan
to get engaged and married?”
Joseph led the attention to Lucas.
Lucas looked at Joseph and said curtly, “We will see.”
And then, he got up and left.
Joseph was slightly amazed.
Did Lucas get sulky?
