Echoes Of a Forsaken Heart

Chapter 85

Chapter 85

Natalia thought Scarlett was referring to the photo Eveleen had posted. She chuckled, Tve seen it, no worries, Scarlett I’m almost home.”

With that, Scarlett felt a weight plummet in her chest.

“Natalia, don’t take it to heart, okay? Ignore those words, and don’t let them get to you. We've done nothing wrong, you got that?”

Scarlett’s voice cracked, emotion overwhelming her. She truly ached for Natalin.

What right did that jerk Hamilton have to treat Natalia this way? What was it about Natalia that wasn’t good enough for himi Scarlett couldn’t hold back her feelings any longer, and Natalia sensed something was amiss

“Scarlett, what are you talking about?”

Scarlett suddenly choked up.

“Natalia, your Twitter-”

“| gotta go.” Natalia hung up before Scarlett could finish, and opened Twitter.

The top trending topic blinded her.

Eveleen’s Love Life: A Home wrecker involved

At the sight of this headline, Natalia’s face turned stone—cold. She clicked through and saw a video. It was the clip from a few weeks ago when she slapped Eveleen in that men’s boutique.

Since it was surveillance footage, there was no sound. No one knew what they were arguing. about, but Natalia’s slap was crystal clear.

The comments section was already stirred up.

Are mistresses this bold now? To publicly slap the legitimate girlfriend.]

[Once a mistress, always shameless.]

Words like mistress, home-wrecker, and shameless filled the comments.

Then someone posted a video of Natalia being begged for forgiveness by a fan’s mother in the hospital. Natalia’s temples throbbed as she watched it. She hadn't realized someone had secretly ilmed that.

And now, the entire saga, from her injury to the fan’s detention, her refusal to forgive, the fan’s father getting injured, the mother’s pleas it was all dug up and laid bare.

The comments were a cesspool of filth.

Natalia felt a tingling numbness at her scalp, and it was only now that she realized that all of this seemed to have been premeditated from the beginning.

From her injury, to her miscarriage, and now, she was thrust into the spotlight.

Everything seemed orchestrated.

Natalia’s lips went pale, her grip tightening on her phone. She didn’t even have to guess who was behind it. Eveleen.

With a bitter smile, Natalia recalled the photo Eveleen posted that day. It was a stab to the heart. Eveleen was truly vicious. Maybe this was all part of her plan.

Holding her phone, Natalia opened Eveleen’s Twitter page again.

Eveleen had just posted an update.

[Everyone, please don’t worry or get mad. Hamilton and | are great. No one can break us apart.]

The photo showed her and Hamilton standing close together, clearly taken that evening.

Looking at that photo, Natalia felt a deep ache..

The truth was, Eveleen didn’t need to scheme at all, because Hamilton never cared about her. Knowing she was waiting, he still disregarded her feelings to be with Eveleen.

Even now, under these circumstances, he hadn't called her once.

Natalia’s heart hurt terribly overwhelmed. She thought she had grown accustomed to it, but Hamilton always found a new way to deepen her pain.

Below Eveleen’s Twitter, the well-wishes for the couple starkly contrasted the vitriol aimed at Natalia.

After a while, Natalia suddenly felt like she wasn’t in love with Hamilton anymore. If one day, she needed to wish them well... She could probably do it, right?Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

“Miss, we're here.”

The cab driver glanced back at her.

Natalia snapped out of it, paid the fare, and got out.

After leaving the hotel, not knowing where else to go, Natalia thought of this place, but

standing outside the hospital where her mother was, she hesitated to enter.

sa may people passed by and she feared being recognized, feared the pointing and wepesing. The teared that Tatiana would be embarrassed by her even in her illness.

Even though Natalia knew she was innocent, she was afraid

Le a fugitive, she stood at the entrance, not taking another step inside.

Ram consued to fall from the sky. The cold winds of autumn whipped the rain against her, chulog to the bone Was she cold?

She should be cold.

But Natalia felt nothing. She stood there, her gaze fixed on the floor where Tatiana lay.

Her hair was soaked as rain trailed down her pale cheeks. Her beautiful face was serene, yet her clear eyes brimmed with sorrow.

Elliott Lehner stepped out of the hospital and saw Natalla standing there. In the mix of water and light, she looked absolutely stunning. Even after a rain shower, her beauty seemed

ninished. If anything, it added a tragic grace. Without thinking, Elliott pulled out his phone and snapped a photo.

His crowd lived for the thrill. Victor’s desire for Natalia was no secret. And sure, Elliott had his own fantasies

If Hamilton hadn’t been around during that Truth or Dare game, he really might have kissed Natalia, but he knew better than to mess with Hamilton’s girl.

Yet seeing Natalia like this stirred a sense of pity within him. He’d seen the online frenzy. It was too much to attribute to just a few fans. Someone was clearly fanning the flames.

And he had his suspicions as to who. After all, when Eveleen left back then, she made it clear she was breaking up with Hamilton. Now to pin the scarlet letter of ‘mistress on Natalia

seemed a bit out of line.

Eveleen might harbor thoughts of rekindling things with Hamilton, but the ball was squarely in his court. Natalia was an innocent bystander through it all.

But after all, Elliott was more or less an outsider and it never felt right to meddle. He let out at sigh and made his way over to Natalia.

“Ms. Jenkins.”

Natalia snapped back to reality, her smile forced and stiff. “Mr. Lehner, good evening.”

Elliott frowned, his gaze falling on her pale face. “What brings you out here so late at night?” Natalia cast her eyes downward. “Nothing really, just needed some fresh air.”

Elliott noticed the thin jacket clinging to her frame and offered his own, but Natalia didn’t take it. He felt a bit awkward. With a chuckle, he retracted the offer, “Can | give you a ride home?” Natalia was silent for a moment before responding. “No, thank you.”

She wasn’t sure if Elliott was genuinely being nice, but at this moment, she really didn’t want anything to do with anyone connected to Eveleen.

With those words, she turned and slipped into a taxi parked at the curb. Elliott watched as Natalia drove off, then glanced at the photo on his phone and sent it to Hamilton.

Not long after Natalia had gotten into the taxi, her phone buzzed with a call from Hamilton. She just stared at the screen, not picking up, until it eventually stopped ringing.

Then, she dialed Scarlett.

“Scarlett, | could use a friend right now. Mind if | come over for a bit?”
