Every Breath You Take

Chapter 60

Chapter 60

After taking Monica downstairs to her apartment, Quarmy carried her upstairs. In the past, he had

carried her up and down the stairs for countless times. At that time, her little hands were wrapped

tightly around his neck as she flirted flirtatiously with him. How wonderful it had been.

But now, their mood were completely different from before. She was very resistant and very repulsive

to his embrace. The woman in his embrace was not a living person, but an ice cube.

This ice cube was much lighter than before. Quarmy couldn't help but ask. "Moni, you've lost a lot of

weight."

Monica didn't say anything. It had nothing to do with him. Seeing that she didn't speak, Quarmy sighed

deeply.

Monica took out the key and opened the door. She held the door frame and stood still. "I suffered

because of you tonight, so I won't say thank you. Mr. Huo, goodbye! I won't see you again!"

After saying these cold words, the door was closed ruthlessly. Quarmy looked at the old door in front of Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

him. The door was still the door, and the person was still the person, but everything was different.

Monica pushed herself back to her room. Just as she was about to go to bed, she heard the sound of

the car leaving. Although it was expected, she still smiled self-deprecatingly. "Human beings are really

strange animals. I still can't let go of him even in such a situation. Do I still expect him to wait at the

door like he used to?"

She was really out of her mind! Ever since he allowed another woman to be pregnant with his child, the

two of them were destined to be strangers. Quarmy wasn't the previous Quarmy, and she wasn't the

previous Monica either. Everything had already passed, and they were destined not to have any more

interactions.

Monica took a deep breath, went to the bed and lay down. "Monica! Go for it!"

Although Quarmy drove out of the alley entrance, he did not leave. Instead, he parked the car on the

open space of the alley. The street lights were dim at night. He sat quietly in the car and looked at the

place that he used to be familiar with.

He recalled the vow in his mind. "Hold your hand and grow old with you. Monica, I remember my vow. It

has always been my heart!"

When Monica got up in the morning, she felt a little better, but she couldn't go to work. Therefore, she

called Roland to ask for a leave and was ready rest for one day.

Roland arrived half an hour later. He knocked on the door loudly, and then Xanjer opened the door. He

rushed in and asked. "What happened? How did you hurt your ankle?"

"I accidentally twisted it when I went upstairs last night." Monica answered.

"I'll take you to the hospital."

"I went to the hospital last night. The doctor said it was not serious. I'll be fine after a few days' rest."

Roland didn't believe it and ignored Xanjer who was watching them from the side. He carried Monica in

his arms and left.

Quarmy stayed in the car until dawn. He got out of the car and went to buy breakfast. When he carried

the breakfast to the alley exit, he saw Roland coming out in a hurry with Monica in his arms.

"Why are you so heavy? Put your hands around my neck to let me save some strength. Got it?" Roland

scolded Monica as he walked. His words reminded her of Quarmy saying that she had lost weight, so

she couldn't help retorting. "I didn't ask you to carry me. Am I really that heavy?"

"Why don't you carry me?"

Monica was amused by him, and she put her arms around his neck. Roland didn't blame her for being

heavy, he just wanted to get closer to her. Seeing that, he smiled proudly. "It's much better now!"

Seeing Monica put her hands on Roland's neck and smiling, Quarmy felt a twinge of pain in his heart.

The breakfast in his hand fell to the ground.

He watched as Roland carried her into the car and carefully fastened her seat belt. He didn't know what

Roland said, but she reached out and pushed him a little bit.

These were all his past belongings. He suddenly felt that his heart was empty. Next to him, an old man

reminded him, "Young man, your breakfast has fallen off!"

Quarmy didn't say anything and strode away. After taking a few steps, he turned around and picked up

the breakfast on the ground. "Monica, if you don't eat it, I will!"
