Chapter 13: Bad Guy, Let Go Of My Mommy
Chapter 13: Bad Guy, Let Go Of My Mommy
The underground parking lot in the company was very big, about the same size as the parking lot under
a mall. The stuffy air made Luz dizzy again when she brought Logan down.
The little guy was walking forwards, chattering happily while holding her hand. Luz couldn't hear what
he was saying. She rubbed her forehead and stumbled slightly.
"Mommy, be careful!" Logan shouted suddenly and pulled Luz to the side.
A car drove at high speed towards them with its lights blazing. The dazzling lights startled Luz, who
stumbled and fell onto the ground.
Logan was also shaken and yelled, "Mommy, are you okay?"
He quickly ran over to Luz.
The black Maybach stopped two meters away from them with a sharp screech of brakes.
Henry got out of the car, slammed the door, and strode toward Luz.
When he saw the woman on the ground, he frowned and walked quicker.
Luz Boone?!
Logan had taken out Luz's phone from her bag and called the emergency services. While he was
giving their address over the phone, he saw someone picking up his mother and panicked.
He recognized the man who made his mommy upset at the restaurant last time.
"You're a bad guy, let go of my mommy!"
Seeing that Henry was about to leave with Luz in his arms, Logan caught up with him and kicked him
like an angry animal. "Put down my mommy, or I'll hit you," he threatened angrily.
Henry glanced at the little boy and kept walking. "I'm taking your mommy to the hospital."
Emily had been watching the entire thing from the beginning. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
She gritted her teeth in hatred. When she saw that Henry was about to put Luz into the backseat of the
car, she couldn't stop herself from saying, "Henry, she's just a secretary. You're being too kind to her.
Didn't her son already call the emergency services?"
"I am the boss of this company. I must be responsible for my company's employees."
Henry glanced at Emily as he continued, "How would the other employees see me if I just leave her
here?"
Emily tightened her grip on her handbag and forced a smile. "You're right, I didn't think it through."
After Henry put Luz in the back seat of the car, Logan clambered into the car as well and tried to shield
his mother behind him, glaring at Henry. Henry's expression darkened when he saw his protective
actions.
As he sat back behind the wheel again, Emily went around the car hurriedly and opened the door to get
into the passenger seat. Before she could get in, Henry said coldly, "Get your assistant to pick you up."
"It's fine, I can accompany you to the hospital," Emily replied softly.
Unexpectedly, Henry's face turned cold, and he forced her to let go of the door. She took a step back.
"Then, then I'll wait for you in the restaurant?"
She did not get an answer. Henry's car had already driven off, leaving only a trail of exhaust.
...
Emily clenched her teeth as she watched the car leave.
Her beautiful face was twisted with anger. "Luz Boone, how dare you seduce my man with such lowly
tricks?"
...
In the hospital, Luz was sent to the general ward on an IV drip after a full-body checkup.
The doctor thought Henry was her family, so he stood at the door and told Henry, "She's just a little
malnourished and have a slight fever, it's not too big of a deal. Just make sure your wife eats regularly
and stop staying up late for work."
Henry wanted to protest that Luz was not his wife, but then he realized that Luz was technically his ex-
wife. He pursed his lips and just nodded in acknowledgement.
