Ex-husband's Sweet Trap

Chapter 40 He Looks Exactly Like Henry When He Was Young

Chapter 40 He Looks Exactly Like Henry When He Was Young

Seeing this, Luz grabbed Logan's arm and said, "Logan, this is your great-grandma."

The boy might be angry and stubborn, but he should know his manners.

"It doesn't matter. As long as he is my great-grandson, it doesn't matter what he calls me."

The old lady's eyes lit up the moment she saw the little fellow. He looked exactly as Henry did when he

was a child.

"They look so alike! It's almost as if they're the same person."

The old lady studied Logan. She had a wide smile on her face. She had always heard how powerful

genetics could be, but she had never believed it since her two grandsons did not resemble her son at

all. But right now, with Logan in front of her, she believed.

"..."

Henry frowned. There must be something wrong with his grandma's eyes. How could Declan's son look

exactly like him?

Logan was also grumbling silently to himself. He could see some resemblance, but they aren't exactly

the same.

"Mother, don't just stand at the door. Let them in, or the outsider will complain."

Maddison snorted, with obvious sarcasm in her tone. Henry and Luz had divorced a long time ago.

Although she didn't know why he held the press conference today, as long as they did not remarry, Luz

Boone was still an outsider.

"If you don't speak, no one will treat you as a mute."

The old lady immediately turned her head and glared at Maddison with a hint of warning in her eyes.

Maddison relented under her glare, but it did not stop her from thinking maliciously, "One day I'll be the

one giving orders, old lady."

"Come on in, Luz and my great-grandson. I've prepared a lot of delicious food, they're waiting for you."

The old lady took Logan's hand and led them in. Normally, Logan would not let anyone touch him, but

this time he let her hold his hand.

The old lady beamed when she felt the small hand in hers. It reminded her of the good old days when

she was young.

"Sorry, grandma, there was something holding us up when we went to pick up Logan."

Luz didn't like to be late, especially since Mrs Maynard was someone she respected, so she explained

herself. However, this explanation caused Henry's face to darken.

His son called the police to arrest him, and his woman said that it was an accident.

"It doesn't matter. As long as you are willing to come, I'm happy."

After washing her hands and sitting at the table, Luz looked at the little fellow beside her. Even though

this was a forced meeting, they were still eating with elders, so she had to make sure that Logan

behaved himself.

"What would you like to eat first? I'll get it for you." The old lady did not take her usual seat. Instead,

she sat beside Logan.

"Great-Grandma, I'm not picky about food. Mommy says that picky eaters won't grow tall."

Logan smiled. The smile melted not only the old lady's heart but also Luz's. Evidently. this boy knew

how to use his good looks to his benefit already.

"That's great. Look how well Luz has taught the boy. It's good that he's not a picky eater, unlike his

uncle."

The old lady praised Logan, but Maddison was unhappy.

It was one thing to praise this little guy, but why did she have to bring her son into this?

"Mother, that's not right. My son was a picky eater when he was younger, but he's a good kid."

At the mention of her son, Maddison couldn't hide the pride on her face. Her son was not in the country

right now, otherwise, Henry would not have the run of the mill.

"Humph, I know a soft mother makes for a bad child."

The old lady snorted and put a piece of roast turkey into Logan's plate.

"This turkey is the Maynard family secret recipe. It looks greasy, but it's really good. Try it." RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Logan had never had roasted turkey before. He looked at the greasy piece of meat and hesitated. He

should have said he liked vegetables instead.

He picked up the turkey reluctantly and put it in his mouth. He was planning to just swallow it if it didn't

taste good. As soon as the meat reached his mouth, his eyes widened involuntarily. It was good.

"How is it? Is it delicious?"

The old lady looked at him happily. She knew that the little boy would like this.

"Yes, it's delicious."

Logan swallowed and gave her a thumbs up.

"Your father has loved this roasted turkey since he was a child. If he doesn't have it every week, he

would throw a tantrum."

Henry frowned. He liked the roast turkey, that much was true, but he never threw a tantrum.

Luz's heart skipped a beat as she listened. If she allowed the old lady to continue speaking like this,

Henry might really have some doubts. When he did, all he had to do was bring Logan to a hospital, and

everything would come out into the open.

"Grandma, how are you feeling recently?" She quickly changed the topic. The old lady took the bait and

turned her attention away from Logan.

"My old body is... Ouch, my stomach hurts."

The old lady was about to say that she was in good health when she suddenly thought of something.

She quickly covered her belly and said with a painful expression.

"Grandma, are you okay?"

"Grandma, what's wrong?"

Two voices spoke at the same time. Henry glanced at Luz, who averted her gaze.

The old lady took the opportunity to wink at Henry. "Grandson, grandma is creating an opportunity for

you. You must seize the opportunity." she thought.

"Ouch, my stomach hurts so much."

Luz knew that gastrointestinal functions deteriorate with age, so a stomachache was normal in old

people. The old lady's acting was also quite believable, so she did not suspect anything.

"How about we send you to the hospital?"

She should just let her take the pain at home. It would be better to take her to the hospital for a check-

up just in case.

"I don't want to go to the hospital. Old people don't like hospitals, Luz. I don't like the smell of

disinfectant in the hospital. It makes me worse."

The old lady almost could not bear looking at Luz's worried expression, but the thought of having a

multi-generational happy family was enough for her to harden her heart and forge on. This was just a

little white lie. Luz wouldn't blame her.
