Chapter 664 What A Waste
Tobias did not have a clue about the type of medication Skylar required. A young pharmacist was on
duty at the first twenty-four-hour drugstore he found.
She was sprawled over the counter, asleep when he walked in. At the sound of the heavy footsteps,
the pharmacist's eyelids opened blearily.
As she yawned, her eyes found the man's face before snapping into focus. Every trace of fatigue
disappeared in an instant.
Oh my, look at those strapping shoulders and razor-sharp cheekbones! Our children are going to be
heartbreakers.
“Can I help you?” she mumbled as she fidgeted with a strand of her hair, blushing slightly.
Tobias closed his eyes before slowly opening them again. He felt uncomfortable with the errand Skylar
had him run. It would have been so much less awkward if it were a guy or an older lady. Why do I have
to explain my situation to a young girl?
“What do you have for women with swollen... parts?”
The young pharmacist's illusion was shattered. That's it. He just made his status known loud and clear.
“How did it happen? Delivery, miscarriage, or intercourse?” she asked.
“The last one,” Tobias muttered.
I can't believe I'm being interrogated by a young woman about my sex life at this hour.
The young pharmacist let out a massive sigh. Pulling herself together just in time, she hastened to
resume an air of professionalism.
People would come out at the dead of night to a drugstore for fever medication, contraceptive pills, or
condoms. This is a good man to be out at this hour for something to ease his woman's discomfort. A
passionate lover too, for requiring something like that urgently at this hour.
She extracted an ointment from the glass cabinet.
Tobias paid the bill and slipped the ointment into his trouser pocket. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Skylar was still awake when he arrived home. He placed the items she had him buy on the desk in their
bedroom.
She limped over in a peculiar fashion. With her thighs pressed together, she winced with every step.
I don't even know if it's swollen or inflamed. I can't go to the emergency ward for this! I'll go viral on the
Internet by tomorrow morning if I do.
“Is it unbearable?” Tobias asked.
Skylar nodded pitifully as she gazed up at him. “I can't even walk,” she answered morosely. “How am I
going to make it for that training in the office tomorrow?”
Although Tobias cared for Skylar and knew that the fault lay in him, his voice did not convey his
concern.
“Don't worry about it,” he said gruffly. “Who knows, you may even wake up feeling completely fine.
Finish the food I've bought, then I'll help you with the ointment.”
Why the hell would I let him help me with something like that? That would be so embarrassing!
“I'll do it myself,” she said firmly. “And don't you dare peek when I'm applying it!”
Tobias smiled affectionately. “Why are you suddenly being shy with me? I'll be right here if you need
help.”
