Chapter 146
Chapter 146
After they left, Chris stood on the ladder and laughed heartily, “Rumors are everywhere, don’t take
them to heart.”
Estelle continued to mix colors, a light smile playing on her lips as she replied, “I won’t.”
In the afternoon, as everyone else had already left the company, the two of them finally finished tidying
up and departed together. Chris carried some stuff and laughed, “I’ll treat you to dinner tonight, what do
you want to eat?”
Estelle shook her head, “No need, you should go home and rest early.”
“There’s still time, let’s discuss tomorrow’s progress plan while having dinner.”
Estelle just received a message from Emily, saying that her shift colleague had something to do and
couldn’t make it, so she had to leave later. She closed her phone and raised her hand with a smile,
“Okay, anything is fine.”
Chris thought for a moment, “Then let’s eat French cuisine. There’s a nice restaurant nearby.” “Alright,”
Estelle nodded. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Chris came on a motorcycle, a beautiful Ducati road trip bike.
Estelle knew that his family was quite well–off, and he was also the lead singer of a music team in
school. Being able to sing, dance, and paint, along with his handsome looks, he was the dream guy for
many girls in school.
At this moment, Chris naturally handed his backpack to Estelle, looking dashing and grinned, “Ever
been on a motorcycle before? If you’re scared, just hold onto my waist.”
There was no room for ambiguity or uncertainty in his tone.
Estelle, being straightforward, swiftly grabbed the backpack and efficiently mounted the motorcycle,
declaring, “Let’s go!”
The motorcycle quickly got onto the main road, speeding through the fast–moving cars, leaving a trail
of dust behind.
At nine in the evening, Millard drove Henson and Jonathan back from the racetrack. In the afternoon,
there was an outdoor shooting competition, Jonathan took Henson to watch. They had dinner and
came back late.
The roads were busy at this time, so they were moving slowly. Bored, Henson was looking out the
window when his eyes suddenly widened, shocked, “Isn’t that Ms. Macclain?”
Jonathan, who was looking at some documents, immediately turned to look.
On the side of the road was a restaurant, and Estelle and a guy were walking out side by side. She
was wearing a duckbill cap, a hooded tracksuit, her legs long, and her demeanor naturally refreshing.
The guy beside her was also wearing a white branded tracksuit, tall and handsome, and the youthful
vibe hit them as they walked together.
The two of them happily chatted, afterwards Estelle naturally took his backpack and got on his
motorcycle.
Millard drove along with the slow traffic, Henson kept looking in Estelle’s direction until he suddenly
realized, “I remember now, Ms. Macclain and that guy we met at the racetrack, they must really be
dating!”
The motorcycle passed in front of their car, Henson was about to greet her, but saw the motorcycle
quickly speed past them, weaving through the traffic, and soon disappeared from sight.
Millard glanced at Jonathan through the rear–view mirror, his face expressionless, seeing Jonathan’s
face tense and cold.
Emily came back late that night. After having late–night snacks and chatting for a while, it was almost
midnight when Estelle went to her bedroom to sleep.
Suddenly, her phone on the bed lit up. It was a call from Jonathan. Surprised, Estelle picked it up. It
seemed to be the first time Jonathan had called her, and it was already so late, what could he want?
The phone rang four or five times before suddenly hanging up. Startled, Estelle hadn’t had time to react
before the phone rang again.
She stepped out onto the balcony and swiped to answer the call, saying, “Hello?”
However, there was complete silence on the other end.
Estelle raised an eyebrow, wondering if she had dialed the wrong number.
“Hello?”
Three seconds later, the low male voice finally responded, “Are you asleep?”
Estelle replied lightly, “No, is something wrong?”
