Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 165

Chapter 165

Charlie laughed, “Sounds like you had a blast last night, huh?”

“Get lost!” Jonathan laughed and scolded, then said, “No one’s living in your place at the Royal

Mansion, right? A friend of mine needs a place to crash for a few days.”

Charlie teased, “Your ‘friend‘ wouldn’t be Estelle, would she? You live upstairs, and she lives

downstairs – easier for sneaking around, huh?”

“It’s not her!” Jonathan didn’t bother to waste his breath on more chit–chat. “Anyway, now you know.

I’ve got a meeting to attend. Bye!” After hanging up, Jonathan put down his phone and began flipping

through documents on his desk.

Outside the CEO’s office, Sabina carried a stack of documents and saw another assistant, Kally,

hesitating at the door, looking troubled. “Kally!”

Sabina greeted, “Are you coming to meet Mr. Lamont? Why don’t you go in?”

Kally turned, frowning, “These are documents for M Country’s branch needing his signature. Last time,

Mr. Laird got scolded by Mr. Lamont because of this, and now he’s dumped the task on me. I’m afraid

to go in and get yelled at too. You know Mr. Lamont’s been in a bad mood lately.”

Sabina laughed, “Hand it over to me, I need his signature on a report anyway!”

“That’s great!” Kally happily handed her the documents. “Thanks a lot!”

Sabina smiled gracefully, knocked on the door and a deep voice came from inside, “Come in!”

Kally whispered, “Good luck,” and slipped away.

Sabina took a deep breath, entered the room with a smile, and said, “Mr. Lamont, I have a few

documents here that need your signature.” Jonathan barely looked up, “Bring them here.”

Sabina placed the documents on his huge desk, explaining the contents.

As usual, Jonathan replied indifferently, “Leave them here. I’ll sign them once I’ve reviewed them.”

“Yes, sir. Call me when you need me!” Sabina said, gazing at his perfect side profile. “The meeting

starts in an hour – I’ve prepared the documents, I’ll bring them to you shortly.”

“Okay,” Jonathan replied calmly.

As soon as Sabina closed the office door, Kally rushed over, asking, “Did Mr. Lamont lose his

temper?”

“Nope. He just said he’d sign it after looking at it. Didn’t say anything else.”

Kally took a deep breath, looking at Sabina admiringly, “You’re amazing – I’d surely get yelled at if it

were me in there.” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Sabina smiled slightly, “It’s not that bad – Mr. Lamont doesn’t get mad for no reason.”

Kally sighed, “Mr. Lamont’s been so moody lately; we’re all afraid to talk too loudly around him. But he’s

always nice to you!”

Sabina’s eyes softened a bit. “I’d better get back to work.”

“Sure, go ahead. I’ll treat you to a meal some other time!” Kally waved.

Sabina smiled and headed to her desk.

Word quickly spread on the entire 8th floor that Estelle and Jonathan were close. Mamie treated Estelle

with great respect, and Melody and Susan didn’t dare mess with her any longer.

Weighing Estelle’s responsibilities down, Mamie had her exclusively in charge of Room 8809. If

Jonathan wasn’t there, Estelle didn’t have to do anything – she could just lounge around, sleeping or

playing games as she pleased.

After that night, Jonathan came by almost daily. Now and then, Estelle would deliver drinks, and

everyone treated her politely.

Estelle’s life was suddenly a lot easier, even more relaxing than her summer break.

Henson had his final exams. Three days later, Estelle called and asked how he did.

Henson scoffed, “You don’t have faith in your tutoring skills?”

Estelle laughed, “I’m just afraid you’d purposely fail to mess with me!*

With a mocking smirk, Henson nonchalantly replied, “I did alright – I got A+!”

Estelle burst into laughter.
