Chapter 2286
"Where are you?" Jason asked, his voice deep with concern.
"On the streets," Sophia sobbed into her phone.
"Head back home, I'll come find you!" As he spoke, Jason grabbed his coat and hurried outside.
"Stay home for now; I'll be okay. I just need some time to cool off," Sophia tried to reassure him.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Go back to your apartment. I'll be there before it gets dark. Don't go anywhere else, got it?" Jason's voice was filled with worry, trying to suppress his anger.
"Mhm," Sophia nodded, tears streaming down her face.
Jason made a few calls, pulling some strings with the Gilder family connections, and arranged a private jet straight to J City.
By the time he arrived in J City, it was nearly dark. He reached Sophia's apartment and entered, finding it dark and empty, a clear sign no one had been back in a while.
He immediately called Sophia, "Where are you?"
Her voice was hoarse, "You're in J City? I'm still here."
"I told you to head home, didn't I?" Jason asked, his voice softer now, not wanting to scold her. "Send me your location."
After hanging up, Sophia quickly sent him her coordinates.
Jason drove swiftly through the bustling, brightly lit streets of J City. Getting out of the car, he spotted Sophia from afar, sitting on the curb, curled up like a wounded animal.
Crossing the street, Jason walked towards her, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration, pain, and tenderness.
Had she been sitting here all afternoon?
He stopped in front of her, and after five seconds, she finally looked up. The moment she saw him, tears flooded her eyes.
Jason squatted down, locking eyes with her, and said gently, "The dinner is ready, the house is warm, and yet you choose to sit here in the cold!"
Sophia threw herself into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
Jason's heart ached for her.
"Always have to hit rock bottom before turning around, huh? Now, how do you feel? Completely over it? Or will you run back the moment he whispers sweet nothings?" Jason held her, his voice laced with sarcasm.

Sophia looked up at him, her sobs breaking, "I saw them together, in bed!"
Jason frowned, "So, are you done with him?"
"It's not just about being done. I wish I could make them pay!" Sophia said, her eyes blazing with rage.
Jason gently wiped her tears, "Letting go is good. The end of a relationship always hurts like hell."
"I hate myself for believing his lies."
Sophia looked utterly desolate, as if her entire worldview had been shattered. She had loved Robin for so long, been with him for nearly a year only to discover he was nothing like she thought.
His deceitfulness was a shock and a disgust to her!
Jason took her cold hands in his, as if guiding a lost child, his voice softened, "It's getting dark. Let's go home."
Sophia nodded through her tears.
As they crossed the street, Jason asked, "How did you get here? Where's your luggage?"
"I left it at Robin's," Sophia said, her voice defeated.
"Let's go get it!"
Sophia immediately shook her head, "No, I can't face him!"
"It's your stuff. We're getting it back!" Jason's tone was firm, leaving no room for argument. He led Sophia to the e car and drove towards Robin's place.
