Chapter 2305

Estelle flashed a warm smile, "And please say hi to everyone for me; I can't call each person individually."

"Don't worry, dear!" Catherine replied with a loving smile. "Your dad already called Grandpa George earlier. And do give them my regards again."

"Will do."

"Make sure you and Jonathan have a great time, and don't rush back."

"Sure thing!"

After hanging up the phone, Estelle turned to Grandpa George, "I've relayed all the messages, Mom sends her regards to you."

"They've already called me this morning!" Grandpa George chuckled, reaching for her hand, "Let's go see if your brother and Sylvia have arrived yet, it's time for breakfast."

"Oh!" Grandpa George suddenly remembered, turning back to her, "Did you see the New Year's gift I left you?"

"It's a longevity locket." Estelle was a bit puzzled. She wanted to ask her grandfather why he had given her that.

Grandpa George smiled warmly, "It's not for you, dear; it's for your and Jonathan's future children."

Estelle was speechless.

Grandpa, you're really jumping the gun here!

In J City, at the James residence

Due to the excitement of the New Year's celebrations, Kya was up at the crack of dawn.

By the time Emily came downstairs, Kya and Mrs. James had already returned from feeding the animals in the yard.

Mrs. James looked at Emily with a soft smile, "Why aren't you wearing the clothes I bought you?"

For the New Year, Mrs. James had bought new outfits for both Emily and Kya, insisting it was a tradition to wear something new for the occasion.

Especially Emily's outfit, which included clothes, jewelry, and even shoes and bags, was a full set.

Emily knew Mrs. James just wanted to give her a gift but was too shy to say it directly, so she had found an excuse.

"I'll change into it in a bit!" Emily assured her with a smile.

Charlie James came down the stairs behind her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, "Change into what?"

Mrs. James joked, "Into a new husband!"

Charlie laughed elegantly, "That won't do; if you change me, you won't have such a great daughter-in-law like Emily anymore!"

Mrs. James sighed, "Guess I'll have to make do then!"

Laughter filled the room.

Mrs. James fetched two boxes from the cab, both containing jewelry from the same brand, and handed them to Emily and Kya, "These are your New Year's gifts, wishing you a safe and happy year ahead! ContentNôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Emily opened the box to find matching mother-daughter diamond necklaces for her and Kya. Kya's necklace was five carats, while hers was a whopping ten carats.

She was taken aback and tried to give it back to Mrs. James, "You've already bought me one."

"It's different; this is a New Year's gift. You have to keep it."

l

"Yes, you must!" Charlie took the necklace and placed it around Emily's neck, his eyes sparkling Then he turned to Mrs. James, "What about my New Year's gift?"

"My New Year's gift?" Mrs. James frowned, "Is that even a thing?"

Charlie was speechless.

Emily barely held back a laugh, and Kya handed her necklace to Charlie, "Mine's for Daddy!"

"That's my girl!" Charlie lifted Kya in his arms and put the necklace on her, "Wearing it means you're giving it to Daddy!"

After breakfast, as more visitors arrived at their home, Charlie drove Emily and Kya out.

"Are we heading to C City now?" Emily asked.

"Not yet." Charlie glanced at her through the rearview mirror, his handsome face serene, "I've got plans with Carson and the others for the afternoon. For now, we're going somewhere else."

"Where to?" Emily inquired.

"I'll keep it a surprise until we get there," Charlie said with a teasing smile.
