Chapter 702: The Adorers
Allyce’s grip on the steering wheel shook violently at his words and the car swerved to the left, almost hitting the guardrail, she swerved hastily to get the car back on track.
Betsalem was knocked back and forth and managed to steady herself. She saw a different look on Allyce’s face and, with a moment’s reflection, thought of something.
He asked sheepishly, “What happened to the Ortis guy, do you know him?”
From Allyce’s attitude, it was clear that he did know the Ortis.
Allyce’s eyes were directed straight ahead and she paid no attention to Betsalem.
However, his heart had long since been turned upside down.
The man surnamed Ortis would have saved Severo, and who else but Gabrio could have done it in that situation.
The last time he saw Gabrio in J, he vividly remembered the words he said to him.
She thought that, since then, she and Gabrio had been clear and had not crossed paths again.
But, Severo if he really kept it …
Betsalem waited for half a day and didn’t see Allyce’s attention, so he raised an eyebrow and said, “Why are you as disinterested as this Severo?
When I was in J, I had already dealt with Allyce as a partner, so I was somewhat familiar with Allyce. I was afraid of Severo, but not of Allyce.
By now, the car had entered an incredibly familiar street and then the neighbourhood.
Allyce paused under the apartment building before turning her head to look at Betsalem: “When the time comes, I’ll talk to Severo so he doesn’t give you a hard time, all this, of course, assuming you’re not lying.
Having said that, I was about to open the door and get out of the car.
Unexpectedly, Betsalem blurted out: “I won’t go up.
I was afraid to go up.
Allyce had one foot on the ground and, hearing Betsalem’s words, looked sideways at her with a slightly puzzled expression.
Just as Betsalem was surprised, Allyce quickly got out of the car, closed the door and locked it as well.
A series of things Allyce did quickly and in one go.
She went over to the car window, banging it hard, and looked at Allyce with an angry face, lifting her lips and looking a bit squashed, “Hey, what are you doing!”.
Allyce spoke without words: wait for me.
With that, she put the car keys in her purse and left.
Betsalem did not expect Allyce to be so ungrateful as well, not even bothering with a toilet, and secretly cursed: “Shit!
Allyce entered the flat, saw that the lift was still in its twenties and anxiously went straight up the stairs.
The sound of heels on the floor echoes in the empty corridor.
Allyce ran to the door of the flat in a sweat, her heart beating so fast it felt like it was going to burst out.
He bit his lip and raised his hand, hesitating for a moment before pretending to knock on the door as if he had made up his mind.
So before he could knock, the door to the room opened from the inside.
Marco’s familiar face is what stands out.
“What brings you here?”
Marco’s voice startled Severo into the room and he turned around, Marco’s tall figure was standing in the doorway and he could only see the corner of Allyce’s coat through the gap beside him.
But he knew it was her.
He got up immediately and went to the door, pushing Marco aside with one hand and pulling Allyce inside without a word.
Before Allyce could react, he was walking in.
Severo looked at her: “Go in first”.
With that, he reached out and pushed her back inside, turning to close the door when he saw Marco with one foot still inside.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
He looked at Marco nonchalantly, his voice indifferent in the extreme: “Neto, forgive me for not saying goodbye.
Marco, who does not look very good, is about the same height as Severo and can see over Severo’s shoulder long enough to see a bewildered Allyce.
As if in deliberate provocation, he raised his voice to Allyce and said: “Miss Allyce, will you come?
Severo’s face went cold and he kicked Marco directly in the calf. It hurt Marco and he was about to hit back, but Severo used his reflex to pull his foot away and close the door directly on him.
As if he had a grudge against the door, he slammed it shut so hard that it tipped over with a loud bang.
Allyce was also shaken by the loud noise.
The room then fell silent.
Severo looked back at him and the two of them looked at each other speechlessly.
It was Allyce who first broke the silence between the two.
“I didn’t expect you to live here.
He looked around, the room had not changed at all, everything was neat and tidy, exactly the same as when they lived there.
I hadn’t even thought about this place before.
Severus did not answer her question, but asked her: “What do you want for dinner?
When he finished, he went to open the fridge.
There was something strange in the room, inexplicably, and the words Allyce wanted to say stuck in her throat, as if nothing could be said at the right moment.
He had to follow Severo and watch as he opened the fridge and looked at the food in it.
He was a bit surprised, what was he doing buying so many things to keep in the fridge when he lived here alone.
Not hearing Allyce’s voice, Severo didn’t ask her again, but reached into the fridge, grabbed a few ingredients and headed for the kitchen.
Allyce’s expression faded as she watched him expertly wash, chop and jump the vegetables.
From Betsalem’s words, he assumed it was possible that Gabrio had rescued Severo and then sent him to J in Betsalem’s care.
Although the idea of Severo and Betsalem spending so much time together was a little disconcerting at first, she trusted Severo and, besides, Betsalem had no desire for Severo now.
Did she still have to be grateful for his bad temper?
As she thought this, Allyce couldn’t help but smile with pursed lips and lowered eyes.
“What’s there to laugh about?”
“Huh?”
The kitchen is open and there is an offset counter between her and Severo, and she looks up and sees Severo watching her.
The smile on Allyce’s face was half-hearted: “You’re going to have one less fan.
Unexpectedly, Severo’s face sank: “Betsalem brought you here”.
He spoke affirmatively.
Allyce’s mind was clear, and Severo’s words basically confirmed that everything Betsalem had said was true.
“Hmm.” Allyce thought for a moment and added, “You don’t care that Betsalem called Marco, he didn’t mean to, and besides Marco knows you’re alive.”
At this, Severo’s face hardened even more: “Are you speaking for Marco or for Betsalem?”
Allyce frowned: “Betsalem has been looking after you since you were rescued?
“Yes. In this case, Severo thought there was nothing to hide.
“So she’s like your saviour, and you don’t have to be mad at her for a little thing. In Allyce’s opinion, this little thing Betsalem did was no big deal.
Although he doesn’t like Marco, he’s not like the heartless Grizzi, at least he doesn’t hurt Severo.
If there were people with very bad hearts, at times like this, they would have simply pushed them harder and leaked the information to Grizzi, so Betsalem didn’t have a bad heart either.
Severo stared at her, his hand on his plate tensed uncontrollably, his voice deepened: “What else did he tell you?
Allyce shook her head: “Nothing else.
But something in the back of his mind wondered why Severo seemed to be afraid that Betsalem would say something to him.
