Chapter 706: It’s Him
By the time he stopped, it was after 2am.
Severo took her to another bathroom and back to bed, she was too sleepy to open her eyes and was about to fall asleep when she felt a shiver.
Stunned, he opened his eyes and felt that the blanket was not warm enough to belong to Severo, so he half leaned back and reached for it.
As his eyes followed the coolness from whence it came, he saw the window open, a figure standing beside it, the faint light belonging to the darkness coming in, and he saw a small scarlet fire.
At some point, it had rained outside the window.
What had been a drowsy mind became clear in a few moments.
He was about to make a sound when the man at the window realised that he had woken up, for he saw that the small scarlet fire had disappeared.
In the darkness, he closed the window and approached her.
As he approached, he turned on the bedside lamp, the warm light filled the room, the view in front of him gradually became clear, her pretty eyebrows were close, he reached out to give her a tousle of the small scattered hair in front of her forehead, his voice was soft, “Why are you awake?”
He had just gone to the window to smoke a cigarette because he was sure that she was too tired to fall asleep and would not wake up easily.
Allyce sat up straight and looked at him, “Is something bothering you?”.
With its explicit ban, it has almost stopped smoking.
On a night of reunion, right in his room, why did he go for a cigarette?
Severo reached out and pulled down the corner of the blanket before saying: “I’m a smoker and I can’t help it.
He is lying.
No one knows better than Allyce how strong her willpower is.
“All right, go to sleep”. He stood by the window for a while, his hands a little cold, which were now gradually warming up, before he went upstairs and took her in his arms, ready to go to bed.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Allyce didn’t say much as she lay back in his arms and thought about what Betsalem had said.
He said it was a man, surnamed Ortis, who brought Severo to him.
The words he wanted to ask were on his lips, but in the end he chose to ask frankly: “Who saved you?
His voice was soft, but unmistakable in the silence of the room.
There was no response from Severo for a long time.
Allyce certainly didn’t think Severo would be able to fall asleep in such a short time.
He moved gently and felt the hand around his waist tighten slightly, and the next moment Severo’s unusually sober voice was heard.
“It’s him.
He doesn’t say who he is, but both men know who he is.
Betsalem approached Allyce and Severo knew it.
The fact that Gabrio had saved him was not something he intended to keep to himself, and now that she knew it, he admitted it matter-of-factly.
Severo’s face sank as he felt the person in his arms stiffen slightly, but Allyce couldn’t see it.
Now that Gabrio had been mentioned, Allyce continued: “Earlier, after you got on the plane, he did call me, and at that time, he clearly wasn’t on the plane, so how did he save you?
And Severo’s attention, naturally, shifted elsewhere: “Have you been in contact with him?”
“No …” Allyce sensed the change in Severo’s tone and moved to look him in the face.
As a result, he then felt the hand on his waist tighten and he hurried to press his hand down and whispered: “What are you doing?
“You still seem to be in a good mood, you’re not sleepy at all.” Severo said with a sigh of relief.
Allyce was quick to reach out and nudge him, “I’m sleepy, don’t you dare”.
“Asleep, asleep.” Severo just hugged her a little tighter and didn’t move again.
Allyce felt so threatened by what she had just done that she didn’t dare move again and closed her eyes for a while before falling asleep.
…
The following day.
Allyce woke up early due to her biological clock, although she had slept late the first night.
When he woke up, Severo was still asleep.
His face is a little paler than before, showing a hint of a muzzle, and there is an incipient stubble on his chin, but he does not look dishevelled at all.
After a night’s sleep, her hair was dishevelled and her helpless appearance seemed unusually soft.
Allyce gave him a kiss on his trim, pretty lips before rolling out of bed and heading cautiously to the bathroom.
As much as he would like to sleep with Severo, Alonzo has school today.
Today is the last day, after which Alonzo’s kindergarten leaves for the winter holidays.
He washes, dresses and goes out. Severo is still awake and seems to be sleeping soundly.
Allyce returned to the wardrobe and took Severo’s clothes, inside and out, even his socks, and placed them carefully by the bed before turning to leave.
…
He crossed the room to see Alonzo, who was sitting up in bed with an expressionless look on his face, his dark hair dishevelled, obviously also having just woken up.
When she heard the door open, she turned her head to see Allyce coming in and, with two little arms outstretched, called out sticky, “Mummy”.
Allyce smiled, walked over to him and kissed him before picking him up and taking him to the wardrobe to choose his own clothes.
Alonzo reached for the nearest garment and Allyce helped him with the matching trousers.
Then, turning back to the bed, she sat down to help him change.
Alonzo looked around: “Where is Dad?
Allyce stroked his head, “Dad’s back from a long journey, he’s tired so he needs a good night’s rest, and we need to leave him alone and let him sleep, OK?
Alonzo didn’t know how far Dad was coming back, but whatever Mom said was the right thing to do, so he nodded, “OK.
Allyce prepared breakfast and left one for Severo, who ate it and then took it to Alonzo.
Before leaving, he instructed the maid to take it to Severo when he woke up.
After dropping Alonzo off at the nursery, Allyce went straight to the office.
After a morning meeting, he checked the time, assumed Severo was awake and took out his mobile phone to call him.
The phone rang for a long time before it was picked up.
Before I could say anything, Severo’s voice sounded quietly on the other end of the line, “Has President Delahoz finally remembered me?”
