Debra quickly checked out the announcement from Juan. It was made by a new account named “Juan Studio“.

And there was only one post. [No speculations).

Debra bolted upright from the couch and asked Ben, “Is this account real?”

“I had it checked. It’s a certified account. So, yes, it’s true.”

Besides, it was the kind of move Juan would make. He had always hated being dragged into any sort of drama, preferring to handle things swiftly and efficiently. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

But still, Debra couldn’t help but think back to the time they had survived a life–and–death situation together on that island. She didn’t understand why he was going against her like this now.

Ben continued, “Everyone now believes we’re creating hype, and your reputation has taken a hit. Your fans…”

“I understand,” Debra said.

The Debra–Juan shippers were now either turning into indifferent bystanders or haters. The damage to her reputation was becoming evident.

Debra checked out those comments.

“Let it be. Don’t worry about it.”

“But…

“Remember, I’m no longer the GM of the McKinney Group to the public. My reputation won’t impact the company. Just give it some time, and things will blow over.”

Debra downplayed the matter, but Ben still felt uneasy Things were spiraling out of control, and the consequences were unimaginable.

“By the way, keep an eye on the Nichols Group.”

Debra hung up the phone and lost herself in thought.

Before this, she and Juan had put aside their differences and worked well together. But now, his sudden betrayal was crushing, and the McKinney Group had already lost several key projects in just a few short days.

She blamed herself for not going hard enough on Juan and rubbed her temples in frustration.

As dusk fell, she dozed off on the couch. In a half–dreaming state, she felt herself being gently lifted and placed on the soft bed.

She blinked her eyes open and saw Marion’s face.

The soft glow of moonlight slanted into the dark room, casting Marion’s features in an unusually gentle light.

“Sleepyhead,” Marion teased, planting a soft kiss on her forehead.

Debra smiled, gazing up at him with a mix of tenderness and love. “All done?”

“Everything’s set. The venue’s filled with the roses you love,” Marion replied, his deep voice carrying unmistakable joy.

He tucked Debra’s hair behind her ear and asked, “Do you like the engagement dress I customized for you?”

“Very,” Debra replied, wrapping her arms around Marion’s neck.

His kisses trailed down from her forehead, inch by inch, until they reached her lips. The sweetness of citrus lingered between them, making her crave more.

As passion took over, Marion’s voice lowered, thick with restraint and desire. “Debra, I’m yours.”

Soon, the day of the engagement party arrived.

Caleb had reserved the banquet hall of the Royal Grand Hotel, going all out by arranging a grand event that would span seven days and nights.

The Nichols family’s engagement party was scheduled next door at the Maple Hotel.
