Jasmine And Her Bullies – Chapter 45
Jasmine
I knew I couldn’t keep staying back in this dark room. I needed to find a way out, to plot an escape for myself. It was certain that Noah would do something worse to me if I didn’t find a way to leave as soon as I could.
I jumped up on my feet and rushed to the window again. It was the only way I could get out of that place; there was no other opening or door. I grabbed the curtain again, starting to mount it up to the top. But once again, I came crashing down with a loud thud, pain coursing through my veins.
I knew there was no other way than to go back the same way I came in. It was the only way I could get out of here. I would keep hitting a dead end if I continued to try to go out through the window.
So, I sat up, drawing my legs closer to myself as I rested my head on them, a sudden shiver washing over me. I had to think of a way out, I had to figure out how I would go out, in the same way I was brought in. That would mean passing through the door, and I had no key or anything that could help me open the door.
I stood up, walked to the door, and examined it as if in doing that, I would be able to open the door without the key.
I figured the only way out was using the weaker of the two people who kept me in that room, and that was Freya.
In desperation, I began to bang on the door, screaming my lungs out. “Help! Help!” But nothing came for me, as usual. I didn’t stop; I kept on screaming and banging on the door. “Help me! I am dying!”
The door suddenly swung open, sweeping me off my feet and landing me on the floor. I g*****d in pain, fighting to stand up for the umpteenth time after a hard fall.
“Why do you keep shouting!” Freya yelled, her eyes blazing at me. “What is wrong with you?”
I dragged my legs closer to her, putting on my best act that I was sick. I held her hand. “I…I need medical assistance, I…I am sick, I am dying.” I murmured in a very low voice.
She chuckled, throwing my hand off. “Does this place look like a five-star hotel where you get special treatment?” She laughed and grabbed me by my shoulder. “You were kidnapped and locked up in here. Aside from the food you get, there is nothing more for you, don’t you understand it?” She shook her head, stepping away from me. “The faster you get that, the better it becomes for you.” She added and walked out of the room, locking the door once again.
My b***d boiled, and I wished I could just drop her dead with her blazing eyes and the disgusting way she looked at me. Neither of the two deserved to be among us; they were wicked and disgusting people.
I shook my head, crawling back to the corner of the room, with my head buried in my hands. I had already failed in this; I had to think of another way out, a way I could get through the door.
Freya wouldn’t even listen to me when I said I needed medical assistance; there was no way I was going to get through the door.
I sat there, huddled in the corner with my mind blank. I couldn’t think of any other way out anymore. My head ached as I sat there, feeling exhausted and dejected. No one would even come looking for me, no one cared about me or where I was.
My parents would have been my best option at this moment, but, considering all the humiliation I have recently brought to them. I was better off handling this alone.
My heart raced with pain, remembering all that Noah said to me, how he had betrayed me, and I did nothing but love him. I couldn’t believe I almost fought Mia because of him when all she did was just tell me what she felt about Noah, and they were all right.
I should have doubted him after that and believed all Mia said, but I was still blindly in love with him, not giving all she said a thought.
My mistakes and bad decisions washed over me, sending tears streaming from my eyes. Was this now going to be my end? Would the man I loved and thought loved me be the one to end me?
I shook my head; I should have realized my mistake early enough when it was meaningful and could have worked, but now, it was too late and I had gone too far. I was now being held captive by the man I thought I loved, without being sure of what my future would be.
I was still lost in thought when the door swung open again, and Freya walked in, wearing a wicked smile. She dropped the food she had brought on the floor, along with the usual plastic spoon. I looked to the side at the untouched food; I couldn’t afford to eat it. I wasn’t sure if they hadn’t put something in it, perhaps trying to harm me.
I decided to give my plan another shot. I couldn’t give up just like that. “C…can I have a painkiller?” I murmured.
Freya turned to me; she seemed convinced this time. She moved closer and felt my temperature, appearing even more convinced.
“You should have told me that you were serious the whole time,” she stated.
I didn’t say a word; I just kept staring at her, until my eyes caught her hair clip. If I was going to fight my way out of this room, I had nothing to fight with except the plastic cutlery I had been given. But I could use her hair clip.
“Y…you have something in your hair,” I stated.
She raised her brow, trying to pull whatever it was out. I pretended to help her, and when the clip fell to the floor, I quickly pushed the food plate over it, hiding it.
“It’s gone,” I stated.
“I will be back with what you requested,” she said and left, locking the door behind her.
I quickly picked up the hair clip; it could be my ticket to get out of this place.
Freya came back minutes later with the painkiller and a cup in her hand. I hid the clip behind my back, calculating my movement and how I was going to attack her. Despite being trained all my life to be a fighter, hurting people has never been my thing.
But, as it stands, there was no other way out, and they were dangerous people. She moved closer to give me the drug, but I jumped up and stabbed her neck with the clip.
“J…Jasmine!” She screamed in pain, holding onto the clip with her hands which were beginning to get bloody.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
I rushed to the door but stopped and turned back to her, watching her struggle to remove the clip. This wasn’t me; I couldn’t hurt anyone. But I had no choice; this was for my survival.
I rushed out of the room, stopping at the door to look around and make sure no one else was there before I fled the house. I didn’t stop running; my heart pounded in my chest. I had to do everything I could to escape. Getting caught would only make things worse.
As I ran, I didn’t bother checking if anyone was after me, all I needed was to run, and that was all I did for the next hour.
When I got too tired to run, I stood by the roadside, resting my both hands on my knees to catch my breath. Not long after, I saw a stranger up ahead who was taking a pee by the roadside and quickly I caught up with him.
The haste in which I ran to the stranger seemed to frighten him a bit as he looked at me weirdly.
“C…can I…can I have your phone, please?” I requested, “I..am in danger.”
The stranger quickly handed me his phone, now looking around, clearly concerned. “Are you sure I am safe too?” he worried.
“You do not have to worry,” I assured him. Then, I stared blankly at the phone, wondering who I could call. They were all angry with me, and calling anyone from the pack might not help.
But then I thought of Zane. He was the calmest of my three mates, and I believed he would hear me out. Hopefully, he was alone and not with his brothers.
I dialed his number and just when I thought he wasn’t going to answer the call.
“Hello,” I heard him say.
“Zane!” I shouted, “Please, do not end the call. I…I am in danger.” I murmured, immediately running him through all that had happened and where I was at that moment.
“I will be there,” he said, before dropping the call.
I returned the phone to the stranger. “Thank you,” I mumbled.
He took his phone and sprinted away. I looked for a place to hide until Zane would come to rescue me. Minutes went by, and I ran out of patience. Where was he?
Would he come to save me? I shook my head; I was no longer sure about this. I knew his other two brothers could convince him to stay back.
It would no longer be safe to keep staying where I was. I had to find a way to get back to the pack.
I came out of my hiding place and had only taken a few steps when a hand grabbed me, and another covered my mouth, preventing me from screaming. My heart raced with questions. Had I been caught? What would happen to me?
I was swiftly turned so that I was facing my captor. My eyes widened when I saw who it was; the one I thought wouldn’t come for me.
Zane.
