Chapter 53 A Sudden Change
Chapter 53 A Sudden Change
Hal's heart was full of anger. Because of his disdain for the entertainment industry, he felt unfair. He
always believed that if Nora chose to be with Murphy, it would prove that he was not as good as an
actor.
If the seed of hatred took root and sprouted in his heart, it would spread very fast. Hal was afraid that
one day he would lose his reason and do something outrageous.
If there was love in your heart, you would feel warm and be active; if there was hatred in your heart,
you would feel cold and be evil.
Although Hal were sitting in the office, his heart had already flown out. He wanted to find out what was
going on with Nora and confirm whether what Grace said was true or not.
After all the employees left, Hal got in the car and rushed out in a hurry.
He learned from Grace that Nora could come back to Beijing this morning. Grace told him about the
time she arrived.
Grace knew that it was impossible for Nora to fall in love with Hal, because Murphy had already taken
root and sprouted in her heart.
She wanted to tell Hal to give up her as soon as possible. She didn't want Hal to waste time and love
on a person who didn't like him. It would be painful.
But she couldn't tell Hal the truth directly. No matter how rich and sincere he was, it would hurt Hal's
self-esteem and made him lose face.
She hoped that Hal could understand her efforts.
She hoped that Hal could give up loving Nora and stop being entangled with her all the time. That
would be a fruitless thing. As a man, the real man was the one who could take it up and put it down.
Hal's heart was full of resentment. He clenched the steering wheel, stepped on the accelerator, glared
ahead, and ran all the way straight to the downstairs of Daniel's Agency.
After more than ten hours of high-speed travel, Murphy was too sleepy to open his eyes.
Nora looked at him and said, "After sending me home, I'll go to work by myself. You'd better go home to
catch up on sleep. Don't go to the company this morning."
Murphy smiled, "Oh, I see. That's what I think too. I'm too sleepy. I have to go home and have a rest."
Nora could sleep in the car. She was not sleepy at all because she had been sitting there for a long
time. Her waist was sore and her legs were numb. She could not stand straight because of the pain,
and her legs could not walk steadily.
She went back home and sorted out the things she brought back from her hometown. Later, she
brought some specialities to her colleagues in the film crew. After a simple wash, she went downstairs
with the things and was about to take a bus to the company.
From a distance, she saw Hal standing beside the car and looking back and forth as if he was looking
for something. 'Is Nora looking for me?' she wondered. 'How did he know I was back?'
Nora walked to Hal unhurriedly and said, "What are you doing here? Waiting for someone?"
Hal turned around and saw it was Nora. He looked at her face fiercely and said, "Why didn't you tell me
that you were going back to your hometown? Wouldn't I send you back?"
It was the first time that Nora had seen he was so angry. She looked at him and said, "It's too hasty to
make a decision. I only have three days off. I didn't come to tell anyone."
Hal said to her, "I've liked you for so long. Can't you feel it? Why did you do such a thing to make me
sad?"
Looking at Hal, she continued, "What did I do? I just went back to my hometown to visit my family, and
then I came back. Don't talk so harshly, okay?"
Hal was too anxious to say anything. Seeing that Nora didn't care about it at all, his heart was
completely cold. He had devoted himself wholeheartedly, why couldn't he get the true love?
Seeing that Hal was not as angry as he was at the beginning, Nora said weakly, "I know you are a good
man and you really love me. But we two are not from the same world. I have always treated you as my
own brother."
Hal smiled bitterly and said, "What a good brother am I! That's all right for you to say. Have you
considered my feelings?"
Taking a deep breath, Nora said, "You don't know the truth. In fact, you don't know me at all. I always
treat you as my brother, so there is no need to tell you something."
After thinking for a while, she continued, "Since we have made it clear today, I will tell you what
happened to me. I have a son who is three years old, and I am a single mother who got pregnant
before marriage."
Hearing that, Hal looked at her in astonishment and said, "That's impossible. How is that possible?"
"That's the truth. If you don't believe me, you can go back to the company and ask Grace."
Hal also knew that it might be the truth that Nora wouldn't tell lie to him. She wouldn't discredit herself.
After saying that, she turned around and went upstairs decisively, leaving Hal in a daze for a long time.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
The blow came so suddenly that Hal's heart ached. He didn't know how he drove back to the company.
Noticing that Hal's face was a little pale, Grace quickly walked up to him and asked, "What's wrong with
you? Do you feel uncomfortable?"
Hal slumped into the sofa and didn't say anything for a long time. Seeing his expression, Grace
guessed that it must have something to do with Nora.
She poured a glass of water and handed it to Hal, "Drink some water. You may be better"
After taking a deep breath, Hal said, "I'm fine. I just felt a little dizzy." He took the water.
During this period of time, Hal was in a bad mood. He threw the documents sent by his secretary on
the table without looking at them, and handed over all the affairs to Grace.
She was so busy that she was dizzy and exhausted now. She thought that if Hal kept doing this, even
she would collapse. Something bad would happen to the company sooner or later.
Hal had put so much effort into it and finally got such a result, which he had never dreamed of.
This matter was too cruel to him, and he could not accept it in any case. What Nora said was the truth,
but his love for her was also the truth.
How could God make fun of him like this? Was this God punishing him? Was it because he was such a
bastard at that time? Now he fell in love with Nora and had a real relationship with her. However, he
was hurt so deeply in this way.
Maybe he deserved it. He deserved it. Hal thought, 'Should I really give up on Nora?' He was not
reconciled.
But what could he do? He knew that his mother would never accept a single mother to marry into the
Wang Family.
Hal had a headache. He didn't want to think about it anymore.
