Chapter 20: Heat
Chapter 20: Heat
Everything happened so fast, all Ashley felt was a rush of cold air against her body as Jake threw the
first blow causing Jay to stumble back. The diner went silent as Ashley stood there in shock. She
looked at Jake, who stood there breathing heavily with his fists clenched at the side of him. She turned
her head towards Jay, who didn't expect a thing as he gently touched his bruised bottom lip. Ashley
immediately stood between the two men just in case anything happened. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
"You son of a bitch," Jay exclaimed as he rushed towards Jake with Ashley in the middle as her eyes
widened. Jake acted fast, moving Ashley out of the way just in time to receive a forceful blow from Jay.
Jake launched himself at Jay as they both stumbled to the floor with Jake on top of him. "JAKE! STOP
IT! GET OFF OF HIM!" Ashley yelled from afar as the two men wrestle on the floor, "GET OFF, YOU
F**KING ASSHOLE," he yelled trying to block Jake merciless punching. "JAKE! THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Ashley yelled until Jake was pulled off of Jay, who laid there breathing heavily. His arms were laid
beside his body and his eyes were shut.
Ashley held her mouth as she watched Jay's state, his face was bloody and swollen. She had tears in
her eyes as she never witnessed anything like this and she wasn't a person of violence. Ashley turned
to face Jake, who was held back by two guys. His breath was heavy and his eyes were glued to Jay.
This wasn't Jake, this was a completely different person and this person scared Ashley to death.
Jake realized his surroundings as he slowly calmed down. He turned to face Ashley, who stared back
at him in horror. His face immediately softens, "Ash, I-
Ashley held up her hand before storming out of the diner. The sound of her name being called slowly
drowned out as she walked further and further from the diner. It was cold, dark, and she was scared.
Soon drops of rain were felt as she shivered. The further she walked, the more the rain poured down
on her until she was soaked.
She hugged her body as she walked. The sound of a car was heard, but she kept on walking until the
sound of someone calling her name caught her attention. "ASHLEY, STOP, GET IN THE CAR!" Jake
yelled as Ashley continued to walk, but at a quicker pace. "STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME," She
yelled as her heart sped up as she heard footsteps rushing towards her until she yelped as a firm grip
found her arm, quickly spinning her around to lock eyes with Jake's fierce ones. Her heart stopped in
fear, she was trembly like a leaf and it wasn't only from the cold, rainy weather.
Jake breathe heavily as hot air came out of his mouth, "Get in the car, Ashley," he demanded very slow
and clear as his grip loosens on her arm causing her to yank it away, "I'm not going anyway with you,"
she whispered as Jake's jaw clenched, "GET IN THE F**KING CAR, ASHLEY, WHAT THE F**K IS
YOUR PROBLEM?" He yelled, startling her as she backed away, "You are my problem, what you did
back there to Jay, was wrong and you know that," she said as Jake laughed bitterly, "Yeah, well if
protecting you is wrong then guess what, Ashley?" He asked invading her personal space as her
breath got caught in her throat, "Then I never want to be right, now get in the car," he whispered in her
ear as his hot breath and sudden deep voice sent chills down her spine.
Ashley stepped back as she folded her arms, "I said I'm not going anyway, Jake, what part of that don't
you under-AHH!" She screamed as Jake squatted down before tossing her over his shoulders like a
sack of potatoes. "JAKE, PUT ME DOWN, RIGHT NOW!" She yelled annoying Jake as he spanked her
ass hard leaving her a whimpering mess that caused him to bite his lip.
Jake walked back to his car with Ashley on his shoulder as she quietly stared at his ass. The rain was
still pouring but either of them cared as they were already soaking wet. Jake walked towards the
backseat door as he opened it before almost tossing her in, "HEY! WATCH IT, YOU DUMBASS!" She
yelled as Jake slammed before going over to the front door. As he entered the car, he immediately
turned on the heat before starting the engine.
Ashley sat in the backseat with her arms crossed while she watched outside the window. Jake glanced
at her through the rearview mirror before he started to drive. Inside the car was awkwardly silent and it
suffocated the two individuals.
"I'm sorry you had to see that," he apologized but Ashley ignored him and continued looking out the
window, "Ashley, did you hear what I said, I'm sorry, okay," he said, glancing at her through the
rearview mirror as she continued to ignore him.
Jake began to grow irritated and angry as his grip on the steering wheel tightened, "FINE, F**KING
IGNORE ME THEN!" He yelled startling Ashley, whose eyes filled up with tears. She hates when Jake
yells at her because it hurts when he does.

After the long and most painful ride, they have ever experienced was over as Jake parked his car,
Ashley wasted no time in exiting the car as she stormed into the house, ignoring the stares from her
mother and Roger, who was cuddled up on the couch.
Jake stared back in the car as he leaned back in his seat with his eyes closed as he sighed deeply. He
honestly could take this anymore, he was so tired of the drama and he wished he had gone back to
where he came from. He missed his mom and he hated being here. Without Jake knowing, a single
tear slides down his cheek as he slowly falls into a deep slumber.
