Chapter 565 A Fever
Chapter 565 A Fever
When two people were together, trust was important.
At first she didn't trust him, but later she thought it over, so she was willing to trust him and give him
time.
Even though he had not explained the matter to her, she had waited patiently.
But what was the result?
Her tolerance and generosity did not get Kennedy's trust, but his doubt.
She still liked him, but so what?
If she was still with him now, what if they got a problem? If she was abandoned again, what should she
do?
Alice did not want to experience it again.
No, she could not be softhearted.
*
That night, Alice stayed up late and she was dazed when she woke up the next day and failed to get up
from bed.
Alice found herself with a severe headache, she could only say to Yanis, “I want to get more sleep and
I will be in the company later.”
Yanis knew she did not sleep well, so she did not think so much, but nodded and left alone.
The room was quiet again. Alice lay there with a severe headache and fell asleep again.
Yanis walked out and surprised to see Kennedy standing in elevator doorway. With her eyes wide
open, she asked, “Mr. Kennedy, what are you doing here?”
He left so late last night, but he came here early this morning.
He did seized time.
Kennedy found that she was carring a bag. She should be going to work, but Alice was not with her.
Kennedy frowned, “Where is she?”
Yanis responded, “You mean Alice? She seemed to be asleep when I woke her up in the morning and
she asked me to go to work first.”
“She has not slept well?” Kennedy raised the corner of his mouth, like thought of something happy.
“Probably.” Yanis said and did not know why Kennedy was happy.
The elevator came, Yanis thought Kennedy would go in, but he stood in situ and did not intend to go in.
So Yanis had to go in first and finally could not help but ask, “Mr. Kennedy, are you going to disturb
Alice early in the morning?”
Kennedy raised his eyebrows and took a sharp look at her.
Yanis shrank her neck and moved her steps to the corner.
“Well...... I'm just asking, shall I open the door for you?”
Kennedy pursed his thin lips, “No need, let her sleep.”
“Oh.” Yanis nodded. The elevator’s door was ready to close, but Kennedy still had no intention to go in.
What the hell was going on?
Did Kennedy want to wait for Alice to wake up in the doorway?
Until the elevator’s door closed, Yanis was still froze, but she felt she could leave it alone, after all, it
was Alice's own business.
Last night she said too much to Alice.
She lay thinking for a long time after going back. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
If she were Alice, would she still believe in love after being hurt?
She did not think so. Two failed marriages were enough to make her lose her courage for life.
So, she had not experienced the pain of Alice, what qualifications did she have to decide for her?
Well, she was so stupid to say a lot.
Now she regretted it and felt distressed.
*
Kennedy stood at the door for a moment and raised his hand to look at his wristwatch. It was still early,
so let her sleep a little longer.
Kennedy took the key and turned to the room, he then sat down on the sofa.
He took out the remote control to open the TV, showing the door of Alice.
In this way, if anything happened, he would be alerted.
Albert called him in the middle of the night last night, saying that the two people probably received the
news halfway and directly went back to their rental house and did not go to the mastermind behind the
scenes.
Albert did not disturb the two men.
But such a situation had made Kennedy feel that the mastermind was not an ordinary man.
But there were so few of such people in B City that he could almost count them on his fingers.
Unfortunately, there was no direct evidence.
Besides, that guy hadn't been around for a long time.
Could it be him?
Wait and see.
Until noon, there was nothing on the screen. In the living room, Kennedy made a phone call while
processing work, from time to time he looked to the screen, but when he finished the work, he still
found nothing on the screen.
Then he found it was already noon.
Was the woman still sleeping?
Kennedy’s eyes went dark. He closed the laptop and then went outside.
He walked to the door of Alice's house, with is thin lips slightly pursed and one hand in his pocket, he
rang the doorbell.
The doorbell rang several times, but no one answered.
Kennedy stood in the doorway and waited patiently. About a minute later, he rang the doorbell again.
At this moment, Alice lying in her bed, dazed.
Vaguely she seemed to hear the doorbell ringing, she had no idea who it would be...
Alice lifted the quilt in a daze. When she got up, her head was so dizzy that she almost fell forward.
She held the table next to her and shook her head to stand firm.
Alice did not see who was standing outside, but opened the door.
As Kennedy was to ring the doorbell again, the door opened suddenly.
At first glance, he saw Alice's flushed cheeks and surprisingly red lips.
Seeing that, he said nothing, but come forward to catch her wrist, “You are alone at home?”
“What, what?” Alice subconsciously wanted to break away, but she had no strength at all.
Kennedy thought something had happened to her as she got flushed cheeks and red lips, but when he
touched her wrist, he started.
Because Alice's body temperature was high.
Looking at her in a daze, Kennedy raised a hand to feel her forehead.
At this, Kennedy frowned.
“Damn it, don’t you realized you have a fever?”
