Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Mas Secret Millionairess Wife
Jeffrey Bennett was standing next to Mrs. Bennett, and when he saw that his mother was a little
excited, he stepped forward to take the phone and said to Wendy, “Explain now!”
Hearing the male voice on the other side of the phone, Wendy got more anxious because she could
recognize that it was the voice
of the eldest son of Mr. Bennett.
Hearing the crying sound from Wendy, Jeffery’s good–looking eyebrows wrinkled and he said, “Where
are you now?” His voice was gentle and soft, which instantly made Wendy calm down.
“I am now at the intersection of Victory Road,” Wendy replied.
“Okay,” Jeffery nodded, and then signaled the assistant beside him to find Wendy immediately.
Standing in the center of the room, Jeffery had the power to make people calm and had the ability to
solve problems. Looking at him, the rest of the Bennett family thought they had the backbone.
Jeffery continued to ask, “When did Lauren disappear?”
“About 7:10 pm.”
“Why did she get off and where did she go after she left?” Jeffery asked.
Wendy bit her lip and said, “The car was broken, so she went to take the subway.”
“Subway?” Jeffery asked, “You let her get out of the car and take the subway alone?”
After hearing this, Wendy’s expression changed instantly and she immediately explained, “I…I needed
to repair the car.” Jeffery was confused and impatient, “Why didn’t you leave your business card and
deal with it afterward?” Apparently, there
was something wrong with Wendy.
Since it was a small car accident, Wendy didn’t have stay there and let Lauren leave alone. It was a
low–level mistake for an
assistant.
Realizing this, Jeffery’s gentle voice suddenly turned gloomy, “Who asked you to frame Lauren? Who
else is involved in this. matter? You’d better tell me right now. If something happens to Lauren, you will
be in trouble.” Jeffery’s voice sounded gloomy.
Wendy couldn’t hold on anymore and told Jeffery everything.
Hearing Monica’s name, Jeffery frowned and then he turned his eyes to look at Monica behind Sally.
Monica was super afraid
and waved her hand, “Not me! I know nothing about this! I don’t know where Lauren is. I just let her
take the subway.”
Mrs. Bennett was surprised and she didn’t expect Monica to be involved. She looked deeply at
Monica.
Sally reacted quickly, and immediately looked at Monica in shock. “Why do you let Lauren take the
subway? She was wearing a
dress. It must be inconvenient for her.” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Hearing Sally mentioning dress, Monica instantly calmed down. This matter could just be a small deal if
she knew how to
explain it to them.
Sally’s words reminded her and Monica quickly explained, “It’s my fault! I just want to make fun of her,
because she has been bullying Sally. I was so mad at her at that time but I… I didn’t make her
disappear. She didn’t take the subway at all!”
Mrs. Bennett was so angry that she was even speechless, pointing at Monica for a long time.
How could she do this to Lauren? Mrs. Bennett thought.
Knowing that Mrs. Bennett believed Monica, Sally raised her eyes and glanced at Jeffery, who kept a
calm face and did not say a word. Sally said to Monica, “You did make a mistake this time so I can’t
keep you by my side, But the priority now is to find Lauren. We will deal with you later.”
It was almost 8 o’clock, and people of the Bennett family couldn’t stay upstairs anymore, so they hurry
down. They needed to tell the guests why Lauren did not appear.
Because several members of the Bennett family had gone upstairs in a hurry, some people in the hall
had already begun to discuss and guessed whether something had happened. People all felt strange
when Lauren still didn’t appear at the banquet.
Sandy Effie was far away from everyone, sitting on the chair and holding a goblet in his hand. He
swayed the glass, watching the red wine inside ripple in a circle.
A man came and said to him, “Your fiancee is going to show up. Don’t you go have a look?”
