CHAPTER XLIV
~~~
SOPHIA’S EYELIDS FLUTTERED open as the warm feeling of strong arms enveloped her body. She looked up, only to be met with the sight of a handsome sleeping Chase. Her eyes locked on his face and she couldn’t pull away. She stared at the way his hair fell over his forehead giving him a boyish look, the way his long, thick and full lashes rested over his cheekbone had her staring in awe. The moment her eyes fell on his thin lips, the images of all the times when he used to kiss her flashes across her mind.
How could someone so cruel, violent, and brutal look so peaceful while asleep?
She tried to move away, but Chase’s arms pinned her down tighter.
“Morning, Gattina,” Chase’s eyes fluttered open.
{“Kitten”}
Sophia’s stomach did a flip-flop. If she thought his voice was sexy, then his morning voice was much sexier and hoarse. “M-,”She placed her palms on his chest. “Morning,”
“Did you sleep well?” Chase slid one of his arms underneath his head while the other still remained around her. “I hope you didn’t forget what I told you last night?”
“You have your freedom, Gattina. It’s with me-beside me and with me,”
That was all he had told her after she told him what she prayed for before asking her to sleep.
Sophia blinked her eyes and nodded her head. “I-I need to go,”
“Not after a morning kiss,” Chase’s lips lifted up into a smirk.
Sophia’s eyes widened, and she blushed. “I-,”
“Should I take it myself?” He raised a brow at her. His eyes flickered to her lips, then back to her big innocent eyes. “I won’t mind helping though,” He shrugged.
“I can’t do it. I can’t kiss,” Sophia looked down at his chest. “I’ve never kissed anyone in my-,”
Chase cut her off with a tug on her chin, making her look up at him. “You’ve kissed me Gattina. So many times,”
{“Kitten”}
She shook her head. “You took it away from me. You never let me kiss you myself,”
“That’s because you’re mine. I don’t need to let you do it,”
“I’m not a property,” She whispered out, watching the way his jaw clenched.
“It doesn’t matter as long as you belong to me, mind, body, and soul,”
Sophia let out a sigh. “Please let me go,”
“You owe me a kiss,” He replied. “I don’t want to take it myself,”
“I told you I can’t -“Her words were swallowed by Chase’s lips on hers.
The moment she gasped out, clutching his shoulders, Chase used the opportunity to slide his warm tongue into her mouth.
“Please, can I speak to Chase?” Sophia asked one of the guards at home.
Neither Valerie nor Luciano was at home, and she was bored. She needed to talk to Chase about it. Sitting down alone in a large mansion where the servants feared to make eye contact with her was not what she wanted.
She needed to be free.
Sophia blinked her eyes when the guard didn’t say a word. He just stood there, simply staring at her. “Please,”
The guard looked like he was contemplating before he brought out his phone from his pocket and dialed a number.
The minute the line got connected, the guard spoke up. “Don,”
Chase spoke up from the other end. “Va tutto bene? Il mio Gattina sta bene? C’e qualcosa di cui ha bisogno?”
{“Is everything alright? Is my kitten alright? Is there anything she needs?”}
“Va tutto bene, Don. Lei insiste per parlarti. Ecco perche io-,”
{“Everything is alright, Don. She insists on speaking to you. That’s why I-}
Chase cut him off immediately. “Allora che cazzo stai aspettando? Dalle il telefono,”
{“Then what the fuck are you waiting for? Give her the phone”}
“Certo, Don,” The man passed the phone to Sophia.
{“Sure, Don}
“Gattina,” Chase called out.
{“Kitten”}
“Chase, I-I need something from you, please,” Sophia began.
“What do you want? Is everything okay with you over there? Should I come home?”
Sophia shook her head as if he would see her. “No, no. I-I’m just bored. That’s all,”
“And?”
“I need to go out, please.” Her voice almost sounded pleading. “I-It’s boring in here! I would have preferred staying alone, but Val and Lu -”
Chase cut her off before she could even mention Luciano’s name. “You can go,”
“What?”
Chase sighed. “I said you can go but be home after an hour. I’ll have Valerie and the guards to follow you,”
No. She didn’t want to be the reason why Valerie would forfeit whatever she was doing. “But -”
He cut in again. “Do you really want to leave the mansion?”
Sophia closed her eyes softly and let out a whisper. “I-I do,”
“Good,” He replied. “Give the phone back to its owner,”
“O-okay,” Sophia handed the phone back to the guard with a pout on her lips.
“Don,”
“Chiedi ad Alessandro di organizzare almeno dieci uomini. Dovrebbero tutti vigilare su di lei mentre va dove vuole. Solo un’ora,”
{“Ask Alessandro to arrange at least ten men. They should all watch over her as she goes anywhere she wants. One hour only, “}
“Certo, Don,”
{“Sure, Don”}
“Thanks,” Sophia smiled at Alessandro as he collected the shopping bags from her and Valerie’s hands.
True to his words, Chase had sent Valerie over to take her shopping. Sophia wasn’t a much fan of shopping, but it was better than staying all alone in an empty house with the maids.
She and Valerie had just finished shopping and were going back home.
Alessandro nodded at Sophia and opened the back passenger door, and dropped the bags on the seat. He then held the door for Valerie to get it.
“Thanks, Ale” Valerie passed him a sweet smile, which he clearly ignored before sliding in. Their eyes locked for a moment.
“Uhh -” Sophia called out. “I-I need to use the bathroom, please. I’m pressed,”
Alessandro broke the eye contact with Valerie and glanced at the other car behind theirs. They had left the mansion with an extra car filled with guards all for the safety of Sophia.
“Sure,” He turned to Sophia and nodded at her before leaning on the car. “We’ll be waiting for you,”
“Thanks,” Sophia smiled and turned to go back into the shopping mall.
Valerie turned to the driver. “I need you to help me get water from the mall opposite us. The one I have here is finished,”
Alessandro pulled away from the car and faced her. “I’ll get it for you, ma’am,”
Valerie clenched her jaw and plastered a fake smile on her face. “It’s okay, Alessandro. The driver will do that for me right away,”
Alessandro opened his mouth to protest. “I-,”
Valerie beat him to it with a bossy tone. “Why don’t you get into the car while we wait for the driver and Soph? The sun’s a bit too hot today,”
He knew he couldn’t say no to his boss. He could lose his job because of that. Alessandria nodded with a clenched jaw before opening the front passenger door to get in. He then turned to the driver. “Prendile l’acqua,”
{“Get the water for her”}
The driver nodded and went out of the car, leaving the both of them alone.
Valerie called out. “Ale,”
Alessandro gritted out. “What the fuck do you want, ma’am?”
“It’s sweetheart for you, Ale. We both know that,”This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
