Chapter 99: Handle It
Chapter 99: Handle It
However, Gretchen was not a fool and knew that Cristofer didn’t want to see her. Therefore, she came to the company directly to see Cristofer today. The receptionist dared not stop her for fear of offending or hurting her. “Try to stop her. I’ll call Mr. Hans and ask him what to do,” Vincent scratched his head irritably and said on the phone. “Vincent, we really can’t stop her! Miss Abrams looks fierce today, and her mother also came with her. We can’t stop them... Miss Abrams! Please wait a minute!” “Are they coming upstairs?” Vincent panicked. “Yes, Vincent. Miss Abrams and her mother had entered the elevator forcibly. They will get to the CEO’s office soon. Please think of a way to handle it!” The receptionist told him. Vincent was speechless and smiled bitterly. ‘Handle it? Now I can do nothing either.’ ‘Mr. Hans has been in the hospital these days. Even if I ask him to come back, he won’t listen to me.’ While they were talking on the phone, the elevator door opened slowly, and Melody came out of the elevator first. With heavy makeup, she was wearing a dark green dress and high heels with a Chanel handbag in her hand. And her fingernails were painted red. When seeing Vincent, she pointed at him and said with a sneer, “I know you. You are Cristofer’s assistant, right?” Vincent, who could see at a glance that she was a difficult woman to handle, braced himself and said politely with a smile. “Yes, Mrs. Grantham. I’m Vincent, Mr. Hans’ assistant. Nice to meet you.” “Humph. The staff in this company are so unscrupulous! Don’t you know that I’m Cristofer’ future mother-in-law? How dare you stop me? You’ll be fired!” Melody said arrogantly. The staff working here were all well-educated talents and had never seen such a rude shrew. Being treated disrespectfully, Vincent was displeased but still said politely, “Mrs. Grantham, we’re only responsible for the company’s affairs. As for Mr. Hans’ private affairs, we have no right to interfere in them. I hope you can understand.” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
“I don’t understand! Where is Cristofer? Ask Cristofer to come out! He bullied my daughter! I need to talk to him and ask why he treated my daughter this way!” Melody snapped. The more Vincent listened to her words, the angrier he became, and the more he despised her. Then he said in a cold tone, “Sorry, Mrs. Grantham. Mr. Hans isn’t in the company now.” “Not in the company? Where did he go?” Melody asked. “I don’t know. I said that I have no right to interfere with Mr. Hans’ private affairs.” Melody snorted and said. “As an assistant, you don’t even know where your boss is. How do you have the nerve to work here? Vincent, you’d better be sensible and tell me where he is. Otherwise, when Cristofer comes back, I will let him fire you.” Vincent chuckled and said, “Mrs. Grantham, if you are the mother-in-law of Mr. Hans, you can ask him to fire whoever you want. But if you aren’t, I’m afraid that he won’t listen to you.” “Vincent, how dare you talk back to me?” Melody said with a cold look. “You misunderstand me, Mrs. Grantham. I’m just an ordinary assistant. How is it possible that I dare to talk back to you?” Vincent said. “Lora, bring two cups of coffee here!” Then he continued, “Mrs. Grantham, Miss Abrams, you can wait for Mr. Hans in this reception room if you want. I’ll ask someone to prepare coffee and desserts for you. I still have work to do. Excuse me.” After saying that, he turned around and left. “Hold on!” Melody stopped him and said. “Come here. I have something to ask you.” Vincent had no choice but to come back. “Go ahead, please.” Melody then winked at Gretchen secretly. Gretchen immediately understood what she meant and said, “Mom, I’m going to the restroom.” Melody nodded with a calm look. Seeing the interaction between them, Vincent was a little suspicious and frowned. When he turned his head to see if Gretchen really went to the restroom, Melody immediately said in a sharp voice, “What are you doing? Why are you staring at my daughter? You wanna go to the restroom with her?” Vincent quickly looked away and said, “I’m just afraid that Miss Abrams doesn’t know where the
restroom is, so I want to show her the way.” “Humph. Stop pretending you’re friendly to us. Now, let me ask you a question first. Does Cristofer have an affair with another woman?” While Melody was talking to Vincent, Gretchen secretly walked to Vincent’s seat not far away, clicked on the shopping website, and quickly checked Vincent’s shopping records. As Melody said, Vincent bought a lot of milk powder, diapers, and toys. Gretchen then checked the delivery address and kept it in mind. She quickly took a photo of the screen with her mobile phone for fear that she would forget it later. After that, she closed the website and left Vincent’s seat. When she came back to the reception room, Vincent had been tired of talking with Melody and was restraining himself from losing his temper. After exchanging glances with Gretchen, Melody knew that Gretchen had got the address of the Hans’ Residence, so she stood up and said, “Since Cristofer is not here and you don’t know when he will come back, it’s meaningless for us to wait for him here. When he comes back, let him call me. Got it?” Hearing this, Vincent finally felt relieved and said, “Okay. I’ll let Mr. Hans call you as soon as he comes back.” With a solemn nod, Melody left without uttering another word, and Gretchen followed suit. As soon as they stepped out of the company, Gretchen couldn’t contain her excitement any longer. “Mom, I got the address!” she exclaimed. Melody looked at her helplessly and said, “What’s the big deal? Isn’t it very easy to get the address?” “Mom, you truly are a force to be reckoned with. There’s nothing in this world that you can’t achieve,” Gretchen praised her mother. Her mind fixated on Yvonne, she clenched her teeth and spoke in a chilling tone, “Once that little brat is gone, Estelle will despise Cristofer with every fibre of her being, and they will never be able to reunite again.”
