I tried to pounce on her but Lucian grabbed me midair before I could touch a strand on her head. He pulled me into our room whilst I was fighting to get out of his grip. Anger had engulfed me completely and fully.

I screamed while slapping his back and wiggling around like a worm. He had thrown me over his shoulder, making it hard for me to break free without falling.

He threw me onto the bed and as much as this could've been a hot moment, it was a different type of heated way. I was angry with her and with him. "Lucian, you have some explaining to do" I said, as I poked my finger violently into his chest.

Lucian:

MY heart dropped to the floor when I saw Riley sitting in the living room. When she ran up and hugged me, I didn't know what to do. She was my first girlfriend. When we both turned 18, we realized we weren't mates. She, however, wanted to continue the relationship and go further than I was willing to.

When I rejected her attempts to seduce me, she ran off. I assumed she had found her mate after a couple of years of her being away.

But here she was claiming to be my girlfriend. Although we never broke the relationship off because she vanished in thin air.

I just assumed it was over and I was OK with that, because I wanted my mate more than anyone else. I wanted scarlet more than anyone else.

When Scarlet growled and called me hers I had a sense of proudness. A sense of I**t and desire that blossomed in me.

If Riley wasn't here, then I would've ripped that sexy dress off her body and claimed her in every way possible.

When I made it clear to Riley that Scarlet was my mate, she couldn't catch the hint or maybe she did, but was too stubborn to back off and realize she was nothing but the past. 1

When I saw Scarlet jump to attack her, I knew I had to act fast. As much as I understood her reaction, I also knew it would cause more damage than good as she was the daughter of our closest ally.

The daughter of Blue Moon's alpha. "Lucian, you have some explaining to do" Scarlet said with fury burning in her eyes, staring right into my soul. I could feel her finger poking into my chest, leaving a small sting. "Scarlet, please just calm down".

"Calm down really, Lucian? You plucked the canines out of Asher's skull as if it was a daisy in a field but you stopped me from ripping her head off and she isn't your mate."

"Asher wasn't your true mate Scarlet"

"Yes but at least I didn't stop you from beating him to the brink of death"

"Me and you both know you would've tried if you were awake"

She stood still for a while thinking about my words. She fell onto the bed, letting out a big sigh.

"Tell me everything Lucian", She said in an exhausted tone. I sighed before I started to speak

"Riley was my high school girlfriend. When we turned 18, we realized we weren't each other's mates.

For me, I always wanted to find my mate.

Riley didn't understand it though, so she kept trying. I thought there was no harm in it whilst I didn't find my mate yet.

She tried to seduce me and when I rejected her efforts, she disappeared. I haven't heard from her since then" "So then why does she believe you to be her boyfriend." I sighed again and she looked at me with expecting eyes. "We never broke off before she disappeared, so maybe in some weird way she still thinks I'm attached to her."

"Then chase her out and wish her the worst" She said, frowning at me.

"It's not that easy Scarlet". I could see her become angry all over again as her hands gripped the sheet under her and her knuckles went pure white. I laid my hand over hers and she softened her grip slightly but her eyes were full of fury.

"She's the daughter of Alpha John. The alpha of the blue moon pack, our closest ally. An ally that has been there for generations, one that we can't afford to lose over silly matters"

Her eyes got angrier at the mention of silly matters but soon lightened again when she realized I was indeed right. I pulled her into a tight hug.

"Scarlet, no one who can compare to you or even try to be on your level. You are my mate. My Luna. The one chosen for me by the moon goddess herself. You are my whole world and no one can compete with you in my eyes".

We both laid in bed just cuddling each other. I could hear Riley's footsteps outside the door before I heard her stomp to the elevator.

I didn't care for her anymore. My princess has flooded every corner of my heart and I can't wait to mark her as mine.
