Chapter 446
Chapter 446
Torrence’s handsome face bore a cold expression, accentuated by the faint traces of blood that lingered upon it.
Jonathan had blood on his face too, but it made him look tough and determined. At that very moment, his eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Yeverie came running over shortly after. Having seen her fair share of blood and gore, she wasn’t too uncomfortable when she saw the blood around her. She quickly walked up to Jonathan and wiped the blood off his face with a paper towel.
Torrence sheathed Hallowed Sword and wiped the blood off his face as well. After exchanging glances with Jonathan, he let out a hearty chuckle and said, “From now on, we’re brothers in arms!”
Being a fair man, Jonathan replied with a smile, “Yeverie and I would have died long ago if it weren’t for you.”
“I would have died too if it weren’t for you, so that makes us even. From now on, however, I will treat you as a close friend!”
Jonathan let out a chuckle. “That would be a great honor!”
Noticing that Yeverie had simply stood next to Jonathan without saying a word, Torrence shifted his gaze toward her and asked, “By the way, you haven’t introduced Yeverie yet. Is she your wife?”
“She’s my woman,” Jonathan replied with a faint smile.
“And a very beautiful one, at that!”
“Hello, Mr. Torrence!” Yeverie greeted him politely.
Torrence let out a hearty laugh before retrieving something from his storage ring. “It’d be rude to make a new friend empty-handed. Here you go, Yeverie! This is for you!” he said while opening up his palm, revealing a shiny gem.
It was the size of a pendant and looked really beautiful.
Jonathan couldn’t help but ask, “Is that a magic gem?”
Torrence nodded. “Yes, it is. This is a high-quality magic gem, so you should be able to sell it for a high price. Since I have no use for it, I figured I’d give it to Yeverie as a gift.”
“Yeverie doesn’t know magic, so it would be a waste to let her have it,” Jonathan said with a chuckle.
Torrence shot the man a displeased glance in response. “Shut up! I’m just giving it to her as a fashion accessory!”
Jonathan burst out laughing when he heard that.
“Thank you, Mr. Torrence!” Yeverie said with a sweet smile as she took the magic gem over. She was really happy to receive a beautiful magic gem, but what made her even happier was the fact that Torrence thought she was Jonathan’s wife.
Torrence felt happy too when he saw Yeverie accept his gift.
That was when Jonathan thought of something and said, “These guys are all wearing storage rings. I’ll have to loot them.”
Torrence had no reason to object to that. “They’re carrying lots of food and water.”
“Moose seems to have magic gems on him. I’ll be keeping them for myself,” Jonathan said while walking toward Moose’s corpse.
“Why are you so obsessed with magic gems?” Torrence asked while looting the other storage rings.
“You don’t know, do you? I am an Omni-Element Magician!” Jonathan revealed with a smile.
Torrence paused and looked up at Jonathan in shock. “What did you just say?”
“You’ll see in a bit,” Jonathan replied as he removed the storage ring from Moose’s corpse and retrieved the Crystal Ball from it.
As Torrence walked up to Jonathan, the latter caressed the Crystal Ball and said, “Watch!”
A few seconds later, the Crystal Ball lit up with a myriad of colors.
Torrence was so shocked that he simply stood there and stared at the Crystal Ball.
Being a former Holy Golden Knight of Supreme Sect, he had witnessed countless students perform tests on Crystal Balls. However, he had only seen them light up with three colors at most, and even that was extremely rare.
Torrence remembered that the Magician who made Crystal Ball emit three colors was a Three-Element Magician named Reddy, and that was ten years ago. Reddy had already become a white-robed priest within Supreme Sect and held a huge amount of influence. Even Torrence would have to treat Reddy with respect if he were to bump into the latter.
Torrence then counted the colors that appeared on the Crystal Ball in Jonathan’s hands and saw that there were six colors in total.
Oh, my goodness! He really is an Omni-Element Magician! Even Theos has only mastered five elements! How could a guy like Jonathan…This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Noticing the look of surprise and disbelief in Torrence’s eyes, Jonathan proudly put the Crystal Ball away and asked, “Well? What do you think?”
After taking a moment to regain his composure, Torrence asked, “You didn’t cheat, did you?”
Jonathan rolled his eyes at the man in response. “How would I even cheat?” He then paused for a few seconds before continuing, “This isn’t really useful, though, and I don’t have time to be cultivating magic here either. Right now, I need to focus on getting out of here so I can return to the main world as soon as possible.”
“Now that you have offended Theos, I’m afraid it’ll be incredibly difficult for you to even survive her wrath, let alone return to the main world,” Torrence said solemnly.
Jonathan didn’t seem bothered by his warning, though. “I have offended way more people in the main world, but I’m still alive and well. I will deal with any threat that comes my way, and I will leave the outcome to fate.”
Torrence had nothing further to say when he saw how nonchalant Jonathan was.
“So, what do you plan on doing next? Also, why did you come all the way here to Dragon Palace? What is your objective?” Jonathan asked while glancing at the corpses strewn across the grounds.
“Of course, I have my reasons for coming here, but this is not the time nor the place to be talking about that. Let’s find somewhere that’s a little cleaner,” Torrence replied in a deep voice.
Jonathan nodded, and the three of them made their way out of Dragon Palace.
Despite being the ones who killed those people, they had no intention to take care of the corpses.
Instead of leaving Demon Palace after stepping out of Dragon Palace, the three of them found themselves another palace that was clean and secluded.
It was known as Feather Palace and had ice walls as well as divine dragon statues.
In order to get comfortable, Jonathan set up a tent to keep the cold out before laying out mattresses inside.
That instantly created a cozy atmosphere inside the tent, which formed a huge contrast with the icy- cold surroundings.
“You must be hungry, right, Torrence? How about we cook up some mutton stew and have some wine to warm up? We can discuss your situation afterward. What do you say?” Jonathan suggested.
Torrence let out a hearty chuckle when he heard that. “That sounds great! I haven’t had any wine since I was on the run after betraying Supreme Sect. Who would’ve thought I’d be able to wine and dine at a place like this, eh?”
Jonathan then retrieved lots of ingredients and wine from his storage ring.
Naturally, he placed Yeverie in charge of heating up the food. To do that, she would first have to get a fire going.
Although Jonathan had a ton of fire talismans in the storage ring, neither he nor Torrence were Magicians, so they could not ignite the fire talismans.
Not only would it suck to not have a fire, but they would also have no way to cook anything.
Torrence let out a helpless sigh and flashed Jonathan a wry smile as he asked, “Well? You’re an Omni- Element Magician, aren’t you? Do you have a way to ignite the fire talisman?”
Jonathan scratched the back of his head and replied awkwardly, “I really have no idea how to do that, but I can give it a shot and see if it works.”
He then picked up a fire talisman and examined it closely.
Just like a talisman from The Destino, the fire talisman was very unique and appeared to be made out of very hard material. There were tons of strange symbols on it, but Jonathan couldn’t understand any of them.
Even so, Jonathan could feel fire elements dancing about on the surface of those mysterious symbols.
I’ll communicate with it through spiritual energy! With that in mind, Jonathan emptied his cerebral domain while rubbing the fire talisman in his hands as though it were a Crystal Ball.
He could see within his cerebral domain that the fire elements were locked up by the symbols on the fire talisman.
“Come out, all of you!” Jonathan said in an attempt to communicate with the fire elements within his cerebral domain.
As though the fire elements had a consciousness of their own, they responded to him by moving a lot faster.
The symbols were only there to hold the fire elements in place, not to keep them trapped. A second later, the fire talisman ignited on its own.
Fire talismans were like firecrackers, so one had to be extremely careful when storing them. Otherwise, they could easily catch fire and start a chain reaction.
By communicating with the fire elements, Jonathan was able to ignite the fire talisman fairly easily.
“Ouch!” Jonathan exclaimed and opened his eyes when he felt a painful sensation on his hand, only to see that the fire talisman was burning brightly. He then chucked the fire talisman into the furnace while
Torrence watched on with a smile.
“You truly are a natural at this Magician stuff, Jonathan! I can’t believe you were able to ignite that fire talisman so quickly!” he exclaimed.
Jonathan, who found magic to be rather fun, simply flashed him a smug grin in response.
He then ignited a few more fire talismans in a row, warming the tent up almost instantly.
A fire talisman could burn for up to three hours, so the amount of fire talismans the three of them had would surely suffice.
The mutton used for the stew had been precooked and frozen using a freezing spell.
Given how cold their surrounding was, they didn’t even need to use any freezing spells.
It didn’t take Yeverie long to prepare the mutton stew, which exuded a really fragrant aroma.
Jonathan and Torrence poured themselves some wine and drank to their hearts’ content.
The latter let out a satisfied grunt after downing his glass of wine.
Jonathan took a bite of the mutton and clinked glasses with Torrence. “Here’s to our new life after surviving that deadly encounter!”
“Yes! Cheers!” Torrence replied with a hearty chuckle.
The two then downed their drinks in one go.
Noticing that Yeverie was only serving the two of them, Torrence told her to eat with them. “I’m not hungry just yet, Mr. Torrence,” she said.
“Sit down and eat with us, Yeverie. We can pour our drinks ourselves,” Jonathan insisted.
Hearing this, Yeverie nodded and sat down next to them.
Jonathan then glanced at Torrence as he said, “It is fate that brought us here today, Torrence. I am curious, though…”
