Chapter 1020: You're Going to Be an Uncle
When Mitch heard Yanis's words, he glanced at Reed's face and then spoke, "She didn't say much.
Lately, she seems a bit down and can sit quietly for a long time without saying a word."
Yanis thought about what happened yesterday when she met Reed at the hospital and frowned slightly.
She changed her shoes and walked up to sit next to Reed.
Startled by Yanis's sudden appearance, Reed looked a bit flustered and asked, "Yanis? When did you
arrive?"
Yanis smiled at Reed, "Just now."
Reed felt somewhat uneasy with Yanis beside him and was about to say something when Mitch
approached, so he held back his words.
Yanis glanced at Mitch and then said to Reed, "Want to chat with me?"
Reed was taken aback by Yanis's proposal but nodded.
Yanis stood up, facing Mitch, "I'll talk to Reed for a bit."
Mitch replied, "I'll go cook."
Yanis added, "Zane might come over later."
Mitch nodded, "Alright, I'll prepare more."
Yanis then turned to Reed, who was still sitting nearby, "Let's go to your room."
Reed stood up, nodding at Yanis.
After the two of them went upstairs, Allan arrived not long after.
When Mitch saw Allan, he furrowed his brows and scanned him from head to toe. Then he asked,
"What happened to you?"
Allan looked around the living room but didn't see Reed. He then looked at Mitch and whispered, "Can Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
you believe I fell while drunk?"
Mitch didn't say anything but naturally didn't believe Allan's explanation.
Allan pursed his lips and continued, "I had a bit too much to drink and got into a minor dispute."
Compared to his previous excuse, this one seemed more plausible.
Knowing Allan's nature, Mitch didn't ask any further but pointed to a nearby cabinet, "Second drawer,
there's a first aid kit. Take care of yourself."
Allan said, "I've already been to the hospital..."
As Allan spoke, he paused and then asked, "Do we have Band-Aids?"
Mitch nodded, "Go find them yourself."
While Allan headed to the cabinet, he asked, "Can I eat here tonight? Do you have food for me?"
Mitch replied, "Mr. Lawrence and Yanis are here too. If you want to stay, help out after you've taken
care of your wounds."
Allan clicked his tongue, "Why do they get to eat without helping, but I have to help if I want to eat?"
Mitch ignored Allan and went into the kitchen.
After dealing with his injuries, Allan entered the kitchen and obediently helped Mitch.
Mitch told him what to do, and Allan complied without any fuss. He listened well.
Looking at Allan cooperating so well, Mitch couldn't help but ask, "Did you do something to upset
Reed?"
Upon hearing Mitch's question, Allan looked up at him and replied, "Do you think I'm capable of doing
such a thing?"
Mitch looked at Allan and said, "Yes, you are."
Allan put down the washed vegetables and said, "I did something, but I think you should be the
angriest, not Reed."
Mitch thought about it and realized that aside from Allan hurting Reed, there wasn't much else to make
him angry.
Allan continued, "I want to talk to you about this. Reed hasn't mentioned it to me yet."
Allan knew Reed was unlikely to bring it up, so he decided to talk to Mitch first.
"Do you want her to keep the baby?" Mitch asked.
Allan remained silent for a moment and then said, "Reed is still young, and I don't want her to be tied
down by a child at such a young age. But if she's willing, I have no objection."
As Allan was an orphan, he didn't need to listen to anyone's opinion but Reed's.
Mitch replied, "I'll talk to Reed about it."
Allan nodded, "Alright."
After agreeing, Allan wanted to help in the kitchen, but Mitch scolded him, "Just stay outside. I might
lose control of this kitchen knife if you're around."
Allan didn't argue and asked, "Are you sure you don't need my help?"
"Go outside!" Mitch commanded.
Allan left the kitchen, and when he closed the sliding door, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
