Chapter 1028: Let's Keep the Child
Dylan's words struck a chord with the Old Mr. Lawrence.
The Old Mr. Lawrence didn't deny it. "I do have that intention. After all, it's the Lawrence family's child.
It's not appropriate for him to grow up outside."
After pausing for a few seconds, the Old Mr. Lawrence continued, "However, I will still listen to your and
Rachel's opinions. If you both think that the child is not suitable to stay in the Lawrence family, then we
can provide child support and let him be raised outside."
Dylan furrowed his brows slightly but didn't respond to the Old Mr. Lawrence's suggestion.
"What does Zane think?" the Old Mr. Lawrence turned to Zane and asked in a low voice.
Zane looked at the Old Mr. Lawrence and replied, "Let Uncle Dylan and Aunt Rachel decide on this
matter."
Old Lawrence nodded in agreement. "Alright."
After dinner, Dylan drove Rachel home first.
Zane, on the other hand, accompanied Yanis to send Old Lawrence back to the Lawrence's Mansion.
During the ride, the Old Mr. Lawrence remained silent.
When they were almost at the Lawrence's Mansion, he spoke, "I remember there's a Lawrence family
property in the downtown area, right?"
Zane responded with a soft "Hmm."
"If the child is indeed Dylan's, then let her live in that property with the child," the Old Mr. Lawrence
said.
Zane didn't respond immediately after hearing the Old Mr. Lawrence's words.
The Old Mr. Lawrence didn't press for an answer either.
The car soon stopped at the entrance of the Lawrence's Mansion.
After the car came to a halt, Zane got out and opened the door for the Old Mr. Lawrence, helping him
out of the car. "Does Grandma know about this?"
The Old Mr. Lawrence only spoke after getting out of the car, "I haven't told her. If she knows, things
will surely get chaotic."
Zane said softly, "She'll know sooner or later."
The Old Mr. Lawrence nodded. "We'll see. Yanis, you go rest now."
Zane agreed, "Okay." Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Zane and Yanis didn't follow the Old Mr. Lawrence inside. They watched him enter the mansion and
then Zane got back into the car.
"Do you think Uncle Dylan will acknowledge the child?" Yanis asked as they sat in the car.
Zane furrowed his eyebrows slightly upon hearing the question and then answered in a low voice, "He
probably will."
It was no secret that Dylan had always wanted a son. So, if the child was indeed his, he would
undoubtedly acknowledge him. Moreover, the Old Mr. Lawrence's intentions were quite clear.
He had planned everything and had no way out. So if the child truly belonged to Dylan, he would
undoubtedly recognize him as his own.
Yanis didn't say anything in response to Zane's reply.
Back at D-king Castle, Yanis took a shower and went to bed early. Zane finished his nighttime routine
and saw Yanis lying on the bed.
Zane casually dried his hair and lay down beside her. "What's wrong?"
Yanis whispered, "Tomorrow morning, I'll accompany Reed for the surgery."
Upon hearing this, Zane's eyebrows slightly furrowed, and he held her tighter. "Do you want me to go
with you?"
Yanis shook her head, turning around to face him, resting in his arms. "No need, I can go alone.
Besides, if the paternity test results come out tomorrow, you'll probably have to go to the Lawrence's
Mansion."
Zane didn't insist after hearing her response.
The next morning, Zane left earlier for a morning meeting at the company, while Yanis got up later,
freshened up, and drove to the small apartment.
When Yanis arrived, Allan was leaning against the car, smoking with a dejected look.
Yanis parked the car, opened the door, and walked up to Allan.
When Allan saw Yanis, he crushed the cigarette in his hand. "You're here."
Yanis responded with a soft "Hmm, just arrived?"
Allan looked towards the entrance of the apartment. "I've been here for a while, but I haven't gone in."
"Scared to go in?" Yanis asked, looking at Allan.
Allan chuckled upon hearing her question. "What do I have to be afraid of?"
Yanis leaned against the car like him, mimicking his posture. "If you don't want to go in, you can just tell
Reed directly."
Allan chuckled again. "She's still young."
Yanis understood what Allan meant by that and nodded in acknowledgment. "You wait here; I'll go
inside and find Reed."
Allan agreed with a soft "Hmm." As Yanis turned to walk inside, Allan called out a quiet "Thank you."
When Yanis heard Allan's words, she paused for a moment, turned around to look at him, but didn't say
anything.
Yanis went inside, where Mitch was speaking with Reed. When they saw Yanis, Mitch stood up first
and greeted her, "Yanis."
Yanis nodded in response and looked at the two. "Have you both had breakfast?"
Reed replied, "Yes."
Mitch checked the time and said, "Let's wait for Allan to arrive."
Yanis said, "He's outside, but he hasn't come in."
Reed got up upon hearing Yanis's words. "I'll go check."
Last night, Allan had planned to stay at the small villa but had left in the middle of the night, saying he
would come in the morning.
Reed understood that Allan was feeling uneasy.
Mitch didn't stop Reed and said, "I'll get your things. You don't have to come in later."
Reed said, "They're on the bedroom bed."
Mitch acknowledged, "Go ahead."
Reed nodded to Mitch and Yan
is and quickly went outside.
"If Allan says he wants to keep the child, will you agree?" Yanis asked Mitch in a low voice after Reed
left.
Mitch pondered for a few seconds after hearing Yanis's question. "If Reed has no objections, I support
it."
Yanis nodded and sat down on the sofa. "You should go to the company now; I'll stay here."
Mitch looked at Yanis and asked hesitantly, thinking about Allan's hasty departure last night, "Did Allan
say anything to you just now?"
Yanis shook her head. "He didn't say anything."
Mitch hesitated for a moment, recalling Allan's back as he left the villa in the middle of the night, but
didn't say anything more.
"I'll go to the company then. If you need anything, give me a call," Mitch said.
Yanis agreed, "Okay."
Mitch left through the side door to avoid disturbing Reed and Allan.
Outside the small villa
After Reed went outside, she immediately rushed to Allan and hugged him tightly.
In that moment, Allan hugged her back, embracing her tightly.
They both spoke almost simultaneously.
"Let's keep the child!"
