Chapter 1059: Reflecting on Your Past Views
Brandon held his phone, his expression dark and uncertain.
After a moment, he said, "Tomorrow afternoon, Sandy and I will go together." Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
On the other end of the line, Nelson instinctively wanted to say something in response, but he ended
up just replying with a quiet, "Okay."
Brandon didn't say more and hung up the phone.
Turning to Sandy, Brandon spoke softly, "Will you come with me tomorrow afternoon?"
"I'm not going." Sandy firmly refused.
"In that case, I won't go either," Brandon replied.
Sandy hesitated momentarily. She had overheard the conversation on the phone earlier, and Brandon
had been honest with Nelson about it. It seemed a bit improper not to go now.
After some contemplation, Sandy awkwardly said, "It's not that I can't go. I also want to see how your
past views were."
Brandon agreed, "They weren't as good as now."
Sandy tried to suppress a smile, adjusted her position, and then announced, "I'm going to sleep."
With that, Sandy promptly flopped onto Brandon's lap.
Brandon held her closer and assured, "I'll wake you up when we're there."
Sandy acknowledged with a sound, then closed her eyes.
...
Doctor Dobbin's private hospital.
After finishing the call with Sandy, Anthony sat in a chair looking somewhat vacant. Doctor Dobbin
observed him for a while but couldn't find the right words to console him.
Finally, Doctor Dobbin stood up and walked over to Anthony. He pulled him up from the chair, saying, "I
have nothing to do. Let's go have a couple of drinks."
Anthony glanced at Doctor Dobbin and quipped, "You're quite the drinker, huh?"
Doctor Dobbin shot him a look, "Are you coming or not? If you're not, then I won't go either."
Going along with Doctor Dobbin's push, Anthony stood up. "Drinking at a time like this will only make
things worse. If I drink too much and decide to go fight your buddy, what then?"
Doctor Dobbin was about to respond when Anthony's voice interjected, "Where will you stand when
that happens?"
Doctor Dobbin paused, then answered, "I'll stand aside and watch you fight."
Anthony chuckled, "Let's go."
Doctor Dobbin followed Anthony, adding casually, "You two have good taste, but Miss Thompson is
quite captivating."
This led to Doctor Dobbin's question, "How did you meet her?"
"Rescuing a damsel in distress."
Doctor Dobbin clicked his tongue, "So, love at first sight?"
"Love at first sight, followed by deeper feelings."
Anthony smirked, "But it was a bit late."
When Anthony and Sandy first met, Sandy was probably already with Brandon.
Thinking about this, Anthony suddenly stopped in his tracks and dialed Sandy's number on his phone,
doing it right in front of Doctor Dobbin.
Doctor Dobbin looked at him, bewildered, "What are you doing?"
Anthony didn't respond and waited for Sandy to answer.
At that moment, in Brandon's apartment.
As the phone on the coffee table rang, Brandon turned to pick it up. Seeing the caller ID, his brows
furrowed. He was about to answer, but hesitated just before his finger touched the screen. Eventually,
he handed the phone to Sandy.
Sandy was snacking on the couch. When Brandon handed her the phone, she lazily instructed, "You
answer it on speaker."
Brandon accepted the call and put it on speaker mode.
Once connected, Anthony's voice came through, "I have a question for you."
With her mouth still full, Sandy mumbled, "What?"
"When we first met, had you already met Brandon?"
Sandy thought for a moment before answering, "I think we had just met."
After hearing Sandy's response, Anthony remained silent for a while.
The silence persisted so long that Sandy thought Anthony had hung up.
"Anthony?" Sandy called out.
Anthony finally replied, "It's fine. I'll hang up."
With that, he ended the call.
Sandy stared at the phone, perplexed, not understanding the purpose of Anthony's call.
Although Sandy was confused, Brandon seemed to catch on. His smile deepened.
He set the phone aside and sat down next to Sandy. "Eat less."
Sandy agreed with a sound, then requested, "I want some water."
Brandon stood up and fetched a glass of water, holding it to Sandy's lips.
Sandy took a few sips with Brandon's support, then handed him her snacks, saying, "I'm done."
Brandon accepted the snacks, resealed the packaging, and looked at Sandy. "Want to take a shower
and then rest?"
Sandy nodded, extending her hand toward Brandon with a clear gesture.
Setting the snacks down, Brandon lifted Sandy from the couch and carried her upstairs.
With her head nestled on Brandon's shoulder, Sandy mumbled, "Brandon, was I being a bit
unreasonable this time?"
Hearing her, Brandon responded, "No, you were very well-behaved."
Sandy smiled at Brandon's words, nuzzling his neck like a puppy. She gave him a peck and said,
"Brandon, you need to be patient and forgiving in the future. Don't get angry too quickly. Otherwise, I'll
become even more formidable."
Brandon agreed, "Alright."
"Brandon."
"Yeah?"
"Can you sleep with me for a while?"
"Sure."
After a couple of days of turmoil, Brandon was a bit tired. Holding Sandy in his arms, he felt a sense of
tranquility. They both dozed off for a while and woke up in the late afternoon.
When Sandy woke up and didn't see Brandon beside her, she got out of bed, her bare feet padding
down the stairs. "Brandon?"
Brandon was in the kitchen. Hearing Sandy's voice, he quickly left the kitchen. Seeing Sandy, who
looked half-asleep and disoriented, standing on the stairs, he murmured, "Stay there and don't move."
Sandy nodded and stood still, watching Brandon approach.
When he reached her, Sandy reached out and hugged him, asking, "Why did you wake up without
saying hello?"
Brandon couldn't help but smile wryly. "You were sleeping so soundly. What was I supposed to wake
you up for?"
He held Sandy closer and walked down the stairs. "Besides, I'm not going anywhere."
In the living room, he settled Sandy onto the couch before asking, "Why did you come down without
shoes?"
Sandy leaned against Brandon's shoulder, murmuring, "
I opened my eyes and didn't see you."
