Chapter 1131: What More Do You Want?
Haider had initially intended to leave, but upon hearing Lorraine's words, he stopped in his tracks,
turned around, and looked at Lorraine, who was standing behind him. His voice was laden with gravity.
"Back then, you said you wanted some time apart to cool off and pursue what you wanted to do. Fine, I
agreed. Then you said we shouldn't contact each other, giving you real freedom. Fine, I agreed to that
too. But Lorraine, tell me honestly, have I ever broken my promises to you during these years?"
"You said you wanted to date others to see if being in a relationship is all the same. I nodded and
agreed. But damn it, I must have been crazy to allow you to put a damn green hat on me!"
"When you cried your heart out after being bullied in a relationship, was it not me who traveled all that
way in the middle of the night to beat that person and send them to the hospital?"
"And later, when you were deceived, it was also me who traveled all that way to help you resolve it."
"I've humbled myself to this extent, Lorraine. How much more do you want? Do you think I've been too
indulgent with you over these three years?"
"But didn't you sleep with an artist from your company?"
Lorraine was stunned by his outburst. After a moment, she shouted this sentence at Haider.
Haider burst into laughter at Lorraine's words. "Lorraine, the first time, I gave my right hand to you! The
second time, I gave myself to you! The third and fourth times were also with you!"
Lorraine felt like her throat had been constricted. She couldn't utter a word.
She hadn't expected Haider to shout out those words.
After his outburst, Haider raised his hand and rubbed his forehead. "Are you going in now, or should I
take you in? Should we make our relationship public in front of everyone there?"
Lorraine sniffled, her deflated demeanor sounding almost mournful. "I'll go in by myself."
"And if you dare to run away afterward, I'll find you even if you go abroad, and I'll break the legs of
those lackeys of yours!"
Haider threw down that harsh remark and turned to leave.
Lorraine stood still, watching Haider's retreating figure. She couldn't help but feel like crying. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
She should have known better than to come back. Jerk.
He always bullies people!
Despite her grievances, Lorraine quickly regained her composure, raised her foot, and continued
walking into the private room.
The waitstaff had begun serving the dishes.
Lorraine settled into her seat next to Bonnie.
"Where did you go? It took so long that I was about to send someone to fish you out," Bonnie remarked
as she saw Lorraine sit down, using her chopsticks to serve Lorraine some food. "Try the taste of
home."
Lorraine picked up her chopsticks and thanked Bonnie softly before replying, "I got a call in the
restroom. I'm in the middle of a work transition these days, and there are still many things left to settle."
Bonnie listened, then turned to face Lorraine. "I forgot to ask, what do you do for a living?"
"I'm an interior designer."
Bonnie exclaimed, "Yanis does that too, although she leans more towards jewelry design."
Lorraine sighed, "Am I the only one who finds meaning in interior design?"
Yanis chimed in at the right moment, "Jewelry has its own meaning too. Some pieces are unique and
carry a lot of symbolism."
Lorraine agreed with a nod. "True, I feel like interior design has its unique significance. It provides a
warm home for people who are away from home, a place of comfort after a day's work."
Yanis added softly, "As long as you love what you do, just do it well, and don't worry too much about
anything else."
Lorraine hummed in agreement. "I think so too."
As they finished their meal, it was approaching ten o'clock.
Allan and Evan were planning some more activities, intending for the group to have some more fun.
But due to Bonnie's circumstances, Zane took Yanis back to rest early.
The rest of the group continued with their activities.
Bonnie checked the time. "I'm not going either. I'll take Mles back to rest. It's so late, I'll have Lawyer
Phillips give you a ride back, so I can relax. Otherwise, I'll be on edge, and I won't be in the mood to
enjoy myself."
With Haider's suggestion, Lane took a leap of faith, eagerly agreeing, "No problem at all. I'll make sure
she gets home safely."
People with a keen eye could naturally tell that Haider, this "uncle," was genuinely trying to matchmake
Bonnie and Lane.
The others all knew too, but they pretended not to hear anything, chatting about other topics while
standing on the side.
