Chapter 167 Whenever She Is With Him
Chapter 167 Whenever She Is With Him
"What?" Derek also started to get worried when he heard what Jackson said. He quickly asked, "How
much does she know?"
"I don't know either. She wouldn't tell me, " replied Jackson.
"What a crazy bitch Sally is! Does she want to die?" cursed Derek.
But Jackson paid no attention to his words, and said, "Just do as I said. Remember, don't tell Selina
about it. I'm sure that you can think of an excuse to persuade her."
"Okay, got it!"
When Cherry got up in the morning and left the bedroom, she saw that Jackson was sitting on the sofa.
She immediately felt sorry for him in her heart, and thought, 'Has he been sitting there the whole night?'
Before she opened her mouth to say something, she heard the doorbell ring. After she thought for a
moment, she guessed that it must be Derek and Selina.
After she walked towards the door and opened it, she saw Selina and Derek standing outside.
"Good morning, Cherry!" happily said Selina.
Cherry tried to smile, and said, "Please, come in."
After they went inside, Derek saw that Jackson was sitting on the sofa; he was aware of what had
happened, but he pretended to know nothing about it.
"Did you sleep well, Jackson?" asked Derek smiling, as he usually did.
Jackson didn't answer him, and instead looked out the window.
Selina didn't care about the two men. She walked up to Cherry, and as she held her arms, she said,
"Cherry, unfortunately I think that our trip will end tomorrow. These two said they need to deal with
something at the army base, so we need to return back home tomorrow. I've already changed our
plane tickets."
Cherry glanced at Jackson and knew exactly what that "something" was. She hadn't thought that
Jackson would think of such an excuse to deceive Selina to get back and see Sally, but Selina seemed
to be unaware of the real truth.
Cherry pretended to be calm, and said, "Oh well, there's nothing we can do about it now. You know that
military orders can never be disobeyed, and their problems are more important than our trip."
After Selina heard Cherry's words, she complained, "We should've had a really good trip this time, but
now we have to go back before we even had the chance to enjoy it. It's really annoying me! What's
worse, I also have to attend a meeting today to settle some business affairs."
When she heard Selina complaining like that, an idea suddenly sprung into Cherry's mind. She knew
that Jackson and Derek couldn't accompany Selina to the meeting, but she was her secretary.
She consoled Selina, and said, "Don't worry about it, I'll go with you."
When Selina heard Cherry, she took a quick glance at Jackson, and then said, "There's no need for
you to do that. I was just complaining about it, but I can go by myself. We have only one day left of our
trip, and I think you should spend the time with Jackson."
"It's okay, come on, let me go with you, " insisted Cherry. She would have rather followed Selina to her
boring meeting than to stay with Jackson.
Selina didn't say anything and instead looked at Jackson on the sofa, implying that it was up to him.
But Jackson didn't utter a word, and when Derek noticed that the atmosphere was growing tenser by
the moment, he glanced at everyone in the room, and said, "Selina, since Cherry wants to accompany
you, you can just go with her. We'll go golfing and wait for you."
"Really?" asked Selina. She was very surprised that Jackson allowed Cherry to leave him and go with
her.
Derek nodded, and said, "Just go with her."
Selina looked at Jackson again and saw that he was still keeping his silence; this was usually a sign of
his consent.
Selina happily took Cherry's hands, and said, "Cherry, I'll go and dress up. You do the same and I'll
come over to pick you up later, okay?"
Cherry nodded lightly to her.
Derek then watched Selina leave the room, and felt that there was also no need for him to stay there
any longer. He stood up from his seat, and awkwardly said, "So, Jackson, I'll go and book the hotel's
golfing course."
Jackson nodded, but still not uttering a word.
After Derek also left, Cherry turned around and was about to go into the bedroom, but Jackson
immediately stood up and walked up to her. He grabbed her arm and then hugged her from behind.
He bent over her ear and enjoyed her sweet scent with his eyes half closed.
"Baby, be careful when you're outside, and call me whenever you're in trouble, " said Jackson. He was
concerned about her, but he knew that the best arrangement was to let her go with Selina.
Cherry sneered at him, and said, "Now you want to care for me? Aren't you anxious to get back and
see Sally? You even deceived Selina and told her that you have something to deal with at the army
base! Well done, Jackson, well done indeed!"
"Baby, Derek told her that, not me. Besides, I actually do need to go to the army base after we get
back, " quickly explained Jackson. He had never thought that Derek would think of such an excuse.
But Cherry paid no attention to his explanation, and said, "Anyway, I don't even care about that. Let me
go now, I have to go to the bedroom and dress for the meeting."
Jackson had no choice but to do as she said and eventually let her go. When he saw Cherry enter the
bedroom and shut the door, he felt terrible in his heart. She was his wife, but he felt that she was
talking to him like she did with a stranger.
After Cherry and Selina got dressed they left the hotel together.
Jackson and Derek also left.
Cherry attended the meeting as Selina's secretary in the JS Group's name. Because of Selina's great
efforts in persuading the other attending parties, they finally finished talking about their business tasks
at noon.
Selina looked at the files in her hand, and happily said to Cherry, "Thank you, Cherry! Everything is
finished!"
Cherry also felt happy, and said, "Isn't this what we came here for? Selina, you're always excellent in
your job!"
"So are you, Cherry. I can see great potential in you, and I believe that if you become the director of the
JS Group, you'll handle your job pretty well." Selina always believed in her ability to spot talent, and she
had always spoken highly of Cherry's competence in dealing with tasks.
"Don't talk nonsense! Do you really think that I'll steal your job?" quickly replied Cherry.
"It doesn't matter whether you or me is in charge of the JS Group, " said Selina, unconcerned. She
then suddenly thought of something, and continued, "I'm already hungry. Let's go and have lunch."
When Cherry heard her words she also suddenly became aware of her own hunger. She said, "Okay,
I'm also hungry."
"Let's go then! Where do you want to eat?" asked Selina.
They then found a restaurant and had a wonderful lunch together. They were both in a good mood, and
thought that it would be better for them to hang out in the city rather than to return to the hotel and stay
indoors. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
After they finished lunch, they strolled on the streets and had fun for the whole afternoon. When they
got hungry again in the evening, they found a snack street, and enjoyed some of its delicious street
food. They really had a good time together.
They didn't return to the hotel until ten in the evening.
Cherry then went into her room and saw that Jackson hadn't returned yet. After a while, Selina came
over and also said the same thing about Derek. Cherry wondered where they had gone to. If they had
gone golfing, they should have returned by that time.
After Selina left the room, Cherry started to feel a little worried about Jackson, but she didn't give it too
much thought. She had a hot bath and then went to bed.
Jackson returned when it was half past eleven, and when he entered the bedroom, he found that
Cherry was sound asleep in bed. He gradually calmed down when he saw her sleeping, because
whenever she was near him, his heart was always at peace.
