Chapter 43 Being Reluctant To Part
Chapter 43 Being Reluctant To Part
A week went by quickly, and the wound on Jackson's back healed.
One morning, he was reading a newspaper in the living room, while Cherry was watering the flowers on
the balcony.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Jackson stood up from his seat to open the door, and Cherry also
walked into the living room.
After he opened the door, Jackson found that it was Derek.
He looked at Jackson happily, and asked, "How are you? Has your wound recovered after the long
rest?"
"I'm not that pampered yet; I'm used to wounds, " answered Jackson while he entered the bedroom,
with Derek behind him.
When he saw Cherry, Derek sent his regards to her politely. "Good morning, sister-in-law, " he said.
Cherry nodded, and was prepared to get Derek a glass of water. "Good morning, " she replied.
While he sat on the sofa next to Derek, Jackson asked, "Why have you come to my house today? Are
there any new instructions coming from the army base?"
Cherry gave Derek the glass of water. After he took a sip out of it, he said, "Yes, the vacation applied
for you by your grandpa has expired, and you should be back at the army base tomorrow. There are a
lot of things that you need to handle."
Cherry sat beside Jackson, and remained quiet as the two men talked.
"Can't you handle them?" Jackson leisurely looked at Derek. During this period, he had enjoyed a
comfortable time at home alongside Cherry's company, which had made him even forget his identity as
a soldier.
"What do you think? You hold the highest commanding power, and our men can't do anything without
your approval. Rules are rules. Who dare violate it?" Derek then felt that Jackson said these words just
like an idiot would.
All of a sudden, it seemed that something occurred to him, and with a wicked grin, he said, "Do you
mean to say that you don't want to go back to the base because you can't leave my sister-in-law
anymore?"
Derek then turned his eyes onto Cherry, but she didn't know how to face him and instead only lowered
her head, embarrassed.
Jackson was angry, and as he looked at Derek's face, which deserved a hard beating, he said,
"Haven't you learned a thing since I taught you better last time?"
When he heard that there was something wrong in Jackson's tone, Derek changed his posture and
dropped his dirty smile. He looked at Jackson seriously, and said, "Anyway, I just came to tell you that
you should come back to the army base tomorrow, and that I will pick you up at seven o'clock tomorrow
morning."
Jackson then coldly turned his sight away, and then said to Derek, "You can go now if you have nothing
else to say."
Derek furiously gazed at Jackson but couldn't say a word, and instead kept all of his anger in his heart.
He knew that Jackson must have been annoyed by him.
Derek looked at Cherry, and in an injured tone, said, "Sister, just look, he even dares to drive me
away!"
Cherry smiled because she knew better than anyone else that Jackson treated all people in this
condescending, superior way, and Derek might have been accustomed to it already.
She smiled, and said, "Don't worry, he'll go back to the army base tomorrow; just pick him up on time."
"Sister! You're such a kind soul! You're much better than my brother. I have to find a wife as
considerate as you, " said Derek, but before he could finish speaking, Jackson's cold eyes stared at
him again.
Derek looked at Jackson and found that his eyes were filled with rage. He then stood up, and
immediately said, "Okay, I've passed the words, and now it's time to go back and give feedback on my
mission. Jackson, you can enjoy your time at home with my sister-in-law today, I'll come to pick you up
on time tomorrow morning."
Jackson remained silent while Cherry saw Derek to the door.
When she came back to the living room, she saw that Jackson was still sitting there, silent. She walked
over to him and sat next to him, and said, "It's time for you to go back now, as you've had your rest.
Derek was kind enough to come here and tell you all about it, but you got angry on him."
"Do you think that I got angry because of him?" Jackson then turned his eyes to Cherry and suddenly
stared at her seriously, as though he would never be able to look at her ever again.
Cherry was now curious about what was happening. Hadn't he got the cold face because of Derek's
arrival? Was there anything that she did wrong that provoked him?
Jackson then suddenly stretched out his hand, held it around Cherry's waist, and pulled her into his
arms.
The distance between them was very close, and Cherry could feel that her bosom was next to his
chest.
"What, what are you going to do?" Cherry's heartbeat quickened, as a bad feeling rose into her mind.
"I'll go back to the army base tomorrow, and I have no idea when I'll come back again. What do you
think I should do?" asked Jackson sternly. Why couldn't this silly woman understand his feelings?
"What should you do? You can't disobey military orders, just come back when it's holiday, " replied
Cherry impatiently. She struggled to get rid of Jackson's arms, but failed. He didn't want to let her go.
"How can I set my mind at rest to let you stay alone at home..." Jackson closely looked at Cherry with
an aura of evil around him, and then exhaled a rush of heat straight into her face.
Cherry couldn't help but tremble and lower her head. She was not brave enough to look at Jackson,
and said, "Why can't you set your mind at rest? I'm a human being, not a nymph; I can't turn invisible
and vanish into thin air. Why are you so worried about me?"
"I'm afraid that you won't be able to bear the loneliness and you will go out and find someone else, "
said Jackson with an evil face.
Cherry was too angry to say another word, and she couldn't believe what he was thinking of. "Jackson,
you..."
"What? Did I say anything wrong?" Jackson's face was as cold as before. He said, "My cousin still
hasn't given up on you. And that Stephen, he always regarded you as his target. How could I ever be at
ease with those guys prowling on you?"
While she looked at Jackson, Cherry really wanted to punch him in the face. How could he dare to NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
evaluate her like that? She regarded herself as a single-minded person, and there was no one but
Jackson in her heart now. How could he describe her in such a dissolute manner?
A sort of pride rose from Cherry's heart, but she didn't want to make Jackson underestimate her.
While she took a deep breath, she looked into Jackson's eyes, and said, "Jackson, are you jealous?
You should've known better about what kind of cousin you have than me. The relationship between
John and I has been a thing of the past, long gone. Furthermore, he has a wife now, and I ought to call
him brother-in-law, and he should call me auntie. Don't you think that your worry is slightly
unwarranted?"
Cherry paused for a moment, and then continued, "And about that Stephen, you've met him before,
right? Do you know him? He's just a friend of mine, and nothing else. Anyway, he's Emily's boss, and
he's also helped me before and had done nothing bad to me, so it would be unlikely for me to hate
him."
"I warn you, don't get close to Stephen!" Jackson's voice showed that he was angrier than he was
before. He frowned constantly as they talked about Stephen.
"Why? He's so kind, without even an ounce of malice in him. He's also..." Before she could finish her
words, Jackson's kiss stopped her.
Cherry's lips were covered with deep kisses.
"Uh-huh, " Cherry struggled. She wanted to get rid of him, but couldn't.
All of a sudden, Jackson's other hand got into Cherry's clothes from the hem.
She felt that a big hand slid downward on her waist, and Cherry immediately pushed Jackson away
with all of her strength.
"Jackson, you bully, what do you want to do?" hastily said Cherry. Her lower body still ached from the
night before, and he still wanted more...
"I don't allow you to praise any other men, and don't get too close to him!" said Jackson imperiously.
"Okay, I won't praise him again, but what are you doing..." Jackson then kissed Cherry before she
could finish her sentence.
But she pushed Jackson away again, and scolded him, "Jackson, you wretch!"
"You're my girl, and I can do whatever I want on you, " said Jackson arbitrarily, with his heart already
burning.
"Didn't you get enough of me last night?" asked Cherry.
"What do you think? I'm leaving tomorrow morning. How can I easily pass on the opportunity?" replied
Jackson.
Cherry felt hopeless, and she even wanted to scold him since she had been almost tossed to death by
the tireless demon the night before. Now that he had another chance, Cherry had no idea when he
would be finished with her, because it was just morning!
Jackson began to tear Cherry's clothes with his hands, and although she felt the situation wrong,
Cherry knew that there was no way that she would escape. She knew perfectly well Jackson's style of
doing things, because she had already been with Jackson for a long time.
Cherry whispered in Jackson's ear, "Let's go back to the bedroom."
Her words reminded Jackson that it was better to do it on the bed, rather than the sofa.
Jackson stood up with Cherry in his arms, and then quickly went upstairs with her to the?bedroom.
