Chapter 62 The Irreversible Past
Chapter 62 The Irreversible Past
In the Beauties, a young woman was involved in a heated argument with Jessi and a few employees. A
crowd slowly formed around them, and the security guards of the mall were present too.
“I have bought these clothes from your shop, why can’t you get me a refund?” The young woman
demanded adamantly while waving around the clothes in her hands.
“Miss, it has been a month since you’ve bought these clothes. How can we get you a refund in this
case?” Jessi couldn’t remember how many times she had repeated the exact same sentence since this
ordeal started. That woman was just feigning ignorance and just wanted to push through her own
agenda.
“I have only worn them at most twice, and some of them are even untouched! Why can’t I get a refund?
Are you trying to oppress your customers just because your shop is a famous one?” The woman
practically screeched.
“Stop with your reasoning, any other shop wouldn’t be able to give you a refund if the same thing
happens anyway. I advise you to go back now since you’re disturbing our operation!” Jessi only wanted
to end this fiasco as soon as possible.
“What kind of attitude is that? Are you trying to run away from your responsibility? Do you think that I’m
such a pushover?” That young woman was really unhappy since Jessi insisted not to give her a refund,
“If you don’t return me my money, I won’t budge here. I want to see with my own eyes how the
Beauties, such a large flagship store, is negligent about their consumer’s rights. I will uphold my own
stance no matter what! Anyway, I have a lot of time on my hands, but if your business were to stop for
day, I reckon you would lose tens of thousands of yuan, right?”
That young woman’s behavior had ignited the dissatisfaction among the onlookers. They were all
accusing her for being unreasonable and racketeering.
“How can you accuse me for falsifying things? Do you understand the whole story? If you simply spout
such words without proof, I can sue you all for defamation!” They young woman crossed her arms in
front of her chest while secretly deciding to not care about her dignity anymore since she had set out to
cause a ruckus.
“She is too unreasonable.”
“How could she be like that?”
“I suggest you to call the police. It’s a waste of time to talk to such unreasonable person.”
…
“Miss, please leave this shop now, or else I’ll call the police.” Jessi warned that young woman seriously
while taking out her phone.
“Oh, I assume that you guys don’t care about your reputation anymore.” The young woman got even
angrier at the mention of Jessi calling the police. She took out one of the shirt from her plastic bag and
then produced a lighter. In an instant, she ignited the shirt in flames and threw it in front of the shop.
The onlookers hurriedly tried to stamp out the fire.
“How could you do this? There are countless fabric in the shop, what if the whole place is in an inferno?
And there are so many people nearby too. Can you bear the consequences if something bad were to
happen?” Jessi scolded angrily as she called the police without hesitation.
The young woman didn’t look fazed at all.
Soon, a police from a nearby station arrived. He immediately questioned the young woman who
attempted to burn the shirt.
“This shirt belongs to me, and I set it in flames in a spot at least one meter away from their shop. Is
there any problem with me doing that?” That young woman was very adamant.
The onlookers all couldn’t stand her behavior anymore as they all complained to the police how
unreasonable that young woman was. However, her action of burning her own clothes in front of the
shop wasn’t something that was against the law. The police couldn’t just arrest her because of that.
“I suggest you guys to just compensate her for this. She has probably gone crazy because of money.
You can just see it as spending a little money to end this fiasco.” The police whispered by Jessi’s ears.
“She wants us to refund her fully despite the fact that these clothes no longer have a label on them.
She has worn them for a month now, so how can I refund her in any way?” The police’s way of
resolving this matter infuriated Jessi. She tried to step into the police’s shoes and found that this matter
was indeed slightly difficult to resolve. “The most important thing is, I am not the owner of the shop. I
am just a manager, so I can’t make the decisions here.”
The police and Jessi both looked at that young woman helplessly.
The young woman continued to be demanding and didn’t seem wanting to budge. When she glimpsed
Jessi’s helpless look, she thought that she was winning this war of attrition!
“Give way! Let me pass through!” At that moment, Quincy emerged from the crowd.
The young woman caught a glimpse of Quincy and her heart immediately jerked up. She turned around
hastily and covered her face, not wanting to let Quincy see her face.
“Boss, you are finally here. We’ve encountered an unreasonable customer.” Jessi hurriedly came
forward and explained to Quincy.
Quincy frowned in that young woman’s direction, and instantly her knitted brows relaxed. He
exclaimed, “Vicky.”
This young woman was none other than Vicky.
Vicky slowly turned around and stared at Quincy in astonishment. She shifted her gaze onto Jessi as
she asked with trembling voice, “You said that… he’s your boss?”
“Yes, he is our boss.”
Vicky stared at Quincy incredulously. She couldn’t process anything in her mind at that moment. She
couldn’t understand what was going on.
“You are the owner of this shop?” Vicky murmured in a state of shock.
Quincy nodded and Vicky immediately felt that her perception of things were upturned.
“Good day, sir. I suggest you just compensate her and get this over with. She is just someone who
goes for money, so compensating her could buy you some peacefulness…” The police started to
persuade Quincy.
The onlookers were all against the police’s suggestion. For someone like Vicky, fulfilling her wishes
was akin to promoting her arrogance. There was no way Vicky should get a compensation.
They also believed that Quincy wouldn’t refund her anyway. Businessmen were always smart and
tactful, so it was unheard of to refund a sold product that had been sold a month ago. To top it off, the
brand name was nowhere to be seen anymore.
Quincy shot a glance at Vicky who was rooted to the spot and turned his gaze to Jessi before
instructing with a faint tone, “Calculate the price of her clothes and refund her fully.”
“Ah…” Jessi was shocked by Quincy’s response similar to the onlookers surrounding them. No matter,
Quincy was still her boss, she could only listen to his orders, “Alright, I’ll proceed with it now.”
Jessi picked up Vicky’s plastic bag which was stuffed with clothes and went to the counter to sum up Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
the total price of her bought clothes.
In no time, Jessi had completed her calculation. She clutched a stack of money and approached
Quincy, “I’m done with the calculation, the total price is twenty-eight thousand yuan. Boss, are we really
refunding her the full amount?”
Quincy didn’t answer her as he quietly accepted the money in Jessi’s hands and went to Vicky’s side.
He showed the stack of money in front of her.
Vicky looked at the stack of money and then turned her attention to Quincy.
Suddenly, Vicky felt an unknown flames of anger surging within her! She didn’t think that Quincy was
really compensating her seriously, but rather he was just humiliating her and wanting to trample over
her with money!
With such a thought in her mind, Vicky grabbed the bank notes in his hands and shoved it at Quincy’s
face while scolding, “You bastard, are you trying to humiliate me? Let me make it clear, you are not
qualified to do that. What if you have a lot of money? You are still a piece of shit who doesn’t know his
place. I don’t need your pity…”
Vicky was throwing insults like crazy as the bank notes fluttered all around her before settling on the
floor.
Jessi wanted to argue with Vicky, but Quincy stopped her by stretching out his arm in front of her. The
onlookers all couldn’t stand Vicky anymore as they started to curse at her.
At the moment, Vicky was acting like Quincy was the murderer of her father. She couldn’t hold herself
back anymore as she was ready to pounce on Quincy here and then.
She gnashed her teeth as she suddenly lashed out her fist and landed a blow on Quincy’s head.
“How could she hit someone?”
“She’s really wild.”
The commotion was getting out of hand as the crowd broke into discussions.
“Sir, you can sue her for attacking you physically. I can bring her back to the police station now.” The
police standing next to him suggested.
“Let’s forget about this. Let her go.” Quincy rubbed his temples and stayed faithful to his own stance no
matter how the police and onlookers were trying to persuade him.
“Stop pretending to be a good person because you’re always a good-for-nothing. I don’t need someone
like you to pity, and it’s impossible for me to take your disgusting money. Quincy, just you wait. I will
repay the amount of humiliation you have inflicted on me today!”
After spitting at him, Vicky finally ended her barrage of insults and escaped after pushing through the
crowd.
The police and onlookers began to disperse from the scene.
“Boss, you are way too kind for you own good. You shouldn’t be so tolerant with that kind of woman.”
Jessi said indignantly.
“She is my ex-girlfriend.” Quincy simply replied.
“Ah…” Jessi froze for a moment but she immediately understood the reason Quincy had been so
subdued in dealing with her. “So that’s how it is. I’m sorry, boss. Just ignore my words…”
“Never mind, she has nothing to do with me anymore, and I have a new girlfriend too. I’m talking about
that girl I have brought with me last time.” Quincy said with a smile. “Let’s leave things at this and get
back to your work. Just call me if there is any issues arising here, I need to go back to school now.”
After bidding farewell to Jessi, Quincy exited the Beauties and thought that the time was just right for
him to meet Jane for lunch.
Vicky returned to school by hailing a taxi.
At that moment, she was no longer so swayed by emotions. At the thought of that twenty-eight
thousand yuan, she actually felt a little sad for not being able to keep them. However, she knew very
well that if a similar scene presented itself in front of her once again, she would still react in the same
way by slamming the bank notes on Quincy’s face without hesitation. She could put down her dignity
for money, but she couldn’t appear weak in front of Quincy.
Vicky quietly took a stroll in the lush school compounds and her mind was full of her questions about
Quincy.
She really didn’t expect that Quincy was the owner of the Beauties. Why didn’t she know about that?
Out of nowhere, he had suddenly become the owner of that shop.
Vicky really had too many unanswered questions, but one thing she was sure of, Quincy was definitely
a rich man now!
Vicky was suddenly overwhelmed by regrets. If she had known that Quincy was a rich person, she
wouldn’t be so foolish as to part ways with him back then.
If she didn’t break up with him, not only she wouldn’t have to shoulder such a debt burden, she would
also be the boss lady of the Beauties!
At such thoughts, Vicky felt so unbearable as if someone was drilling her heart with a drill.
Without her realizing, she reached a small square in front of the library.
“This student, come take a look now. There is a photography exhibition here organized by a final year
senior here. This exhibition is displaying photos of touching moments he has experience in his four
years of university life.” A young girl pulled Vicky and invited her to an exhibition.
Vicky scanned the photos while walking slowly, but suddenly she stopped in her tracks. Her gaze fell
on a photo and her eyes started to quiver.
On that photo, the subjects were a couple walking together. The guy was wearing a shabby looking
clothes and a torn jeans while the girl was wearing way nicer than the guy. The girl appeared to be
interrogating the guy about something while pointing at him while the guy was answering her with a
serious expression on his face.
That couple was none other than Vicky and Quincy.
Vicky lowered her head and shut her eyes. The continuation of that photo began to play in her mind.
Vicky asked, “Quincy, if one day you have become an extremely rich person, would you abandon me?”
Quincy answered with determination, “I will never do that. I will hand you all of my band cards, and all
you need to do is to manage my money for me.”
Vicky pointed at Quincy while confirming, “Really? Are you not lying to me now?”
Quincy immediately put on a serious face, “Of course, you are the most important person in my heart.
As long as you are happy, I am willing to do anything for you.”
Vicky was now smirking, “You really are a sweet talker, but if we give it a thought, there is no way a
bastard like you can transform yourself into a rich person even if you were to reincarnate. Let’s go, buy
an egg wrap for me…”
…
Their conversation was vividly clear in her mind. She would never imagine that Quincy would really end
up becoming a rich person, and the two of them were now in very different places.
A streak of tear slowly lined Vicky’s cheeks.
She stared at that photo with her blurry eyes as she abruptly tore off the photo and tore them into
pieces. She smashed them onto the floor before running away.
