I've Been There Before

Chapter 308 Resolution

Chapter 308 Resolution

The first ray of sunshine in the morning shone into the bedroom, then onto her face. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

After the night flight and her conversation with Caden, she suffered from insomnia last night. As a result, she did not go to bed until very late. So, she did not want to get up early in the morning.

As she almost went into a trance, she felt something was tickling her face. She waved her hands subconsciously and her face was no longer itchy. However, just as she was about to fall asleep, her face got itchy again.

She struggled to open her eyes in spite of sleepiness.

Then.

She saw a pair of eyes.

And a familiar face.

She blinked.

He also blinked.

They looked at each other.

Grace felt blood-boiled.

She burst with anger.

“What are you doing?” She gave him a push and then a slap.

As a result, the tranquility of the early morning was broken by the slap.

She was very angry. She hadn’t got even with him for his wrongdoings. Yet he was staring at her with grievance.

“Grace?” Caden covered his cheek and asked in confusion, “Why did you slap me?”

How dared he ask her such a question!

Grace said angrily, “Why? What were you doing just now?”

“Kissing.”

What? He kissed her?

“Caden! You bastard! I didn’t allow you to kiss me!”

“But …”

“But what?”

“I like you. I learned from TV that if you like someone, you have to kiss her.”

Grace was shocked by his explanation.

She got really mad.

However, Caden looked at her with innocent eyes. She suddenly got up with anger and ignored him. Then she went to the door.

“Grace, why are you so angry? I like you.”

Damn!

She almost stamped with fury. She wanted to stay away from him, but he followed her everywhere.

She clenched the door handle angrily and tried to calm down. ‘You shouldn’t be angry; he was an idiot!’ She thought.

She rarely had bad words, but she couldn’t control herself at that moment.

She took a few deep breaths to pacify herself. Later, she seemed to have calmed down.

“Grace, did you eat candy without letting me know? Your mouth was so sweet,” said Caden.

Damn!

She clenched her fist.

She got annoyed again.

She would definitely chase him off!

She swore!

Without a single word, she went back into the bedroom and picked up her phone. She didn’t care about what time it was and just called Ingemar directly.

Ingemar said impatiently, “Do you know what time it is?”

“Ingemar, you know what? If you don’t take this bastard away today, I’ll chase him off and he’ll sleep in the park like a vagrant tonight! Let’s wait and see!”

She sounded extremely angry.

Ingemar was displeased at first because she woke him up. But her anger made him suddenly wide awake. He said, “Well. Calm down.” As a good businessman, he knew how to play to the score. He decided to placate her first.

“Did he do something bad?” asked he.

Grace seldom got so angry. She even called him bastard. Caden must have done something really bad. Or she wouldn’t have been so angry.

However, Grace fell silent. After a while, Ingemar asked again, “What happened?”

His question made her very awkward. She didn’t want to answer it.

“Forget it! Anyway, come over here now and take him away! I don’t want to see him anymore!”

Grace said quickly.

Suddenly, Caden said behind her, “Grace, if you don’t like it, I won’t kiss you anymore. Could you please not drive me away?”

Damn!

Grace clenched her fist out of anger again.

Ingemar also fell silent. Grace could imagine his expression!

“Shut up!” Grace shouted at Caden who wanted to please her.

“Oh! I see. Yeah, you’re right. He’s a bastard.” Ingemar tried not to burst into laughter, although he wanted to.

“But, Grace, I can’t take him away. Master Shaw wouldn’t give up. He has started meddling in the internal affairs of the Shaw Group again.

He’s very shrewd. Without Caden, I find it hard to handle him.

I’m fed up with tackling him.

If he stayed with me, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to cover the facts.

I know he did something wrong. But he’s like a kid now. You shouldn’t be angry with a kid.”

“I ...”

Ingemar interrupted her, “That’s how kids express their affection-- by kiss, you know. They’re very innocent. ‘Little Caden’ just wanted to show his affection. How could you misunderstand?”

Grace felt more embarrassed.

“Don’t judge kids by your standards.”

Grace was annoyed. “You mean it’s my fault? Am I wrong?

Was Caden only a kid for me?

You know what happened to us before, don’t you?” She said sullenly.

“Do you think I should forget everything just because he lost his memories?”

She didn’t expect such a provoking morning. “But I can’t! I remember everything!” continued she.

He didn’t remember everything, but she did!

Everything!

She clearly remembered everything.

“As for Master Shaw, it’s none of my business. You must handle him yourself.” She was afraid that she would make wrong decisions if Caden stayed with her.

She was afraid that she would eventually … be soft-hearted!

She was afraid that she would be moved by him!

She was also afraid that she would never want him to regain his memories one day.

“I’m going to work now. If he’s still here when I get home, I’ll send him to Master Shaw’s place. Or you can take him away before I come back. It’s up to you,” she said coldly and hung up the phone.
