Chapter 34: The Man Who Could Not Be Angered
Chapter 34: The Man Who Could Not Be Angered
I breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, something felt strange.
With Leonard's personality, how could he have given in so easily?
He picked me up before I could think any further.
...
I was caught off guard and let out a surprised yelp.
Leonard pressed a finger to the wound on my shoulder. I gasped in pain as he said, "Queena,
remember my rules."
He wanted me to remember his rules.
This meant that he'd also accepted my condition.
I took a deep breath and bit my lip.
Leonard threw me onto the bed and pinned me down.
"The condoms are in the bedside table's drawer," I said, ready to take on another round.
...
Leonard chuckled.
He didn't make a move even after some time. I opened my eyes in confusion and found him looking
down at me imperiously.
"Don't forget about our deal, Queena," he said. "You should show me your sincerity if you want to work
with me."
I roughly got what Leonard wanted.
He just wanted to use this to humiliate me. However, his words had no effect on me at all.
I lowered my head and started prepping him as he'd instructed.
Leonard watched me, the look in his eyes becoming wilder and wilder.
After getting him ready, I looked up and put on a business-like smile before saying politely, "Would you
like to do this yourself or should I do it for you?"
A sense of defeat flashed across Leonard's eyes.
I was secretly pleased.
I wasn't like Phoebe, who'd grown up in an ivory tower. I'd been kicked out at sixteen years old and
forced to fend for myself. I'd been through countless hardships and learned how to adapt to situations.
Saying such embarrassing things wouldn't even make me flinch.
"Queena, let me teach you a lesson."
After saying that, Leonard suddenly leaned in close to me. The next thing I knew, he'd flipped me over.
This posture reminded me of the night before.
I stiffened and he continued hoarsely, "Don't try to provoke a man, especially one that can control you."
His hand crept towards my chest.
I really wanted to smack it away, but I was still rational. I knew I couldn't do that.
I didn't struggle and said baldly, "This is a deal. That's what you said."
Leonard paused, relaxing the arm he had wrapped around me. "So?"
I pulled back and turned around to look him in the eye. "Leonard, deals are made on equal grounds.
You may be in control of me now, but one day, I'll be the one in control of you."
Leonard laughed and flicked my nose. "Is that so? I'll be waiting for that day to come."
He turned me around again so that my back was to him and stripped me with familiarity before entering
me from behind.
I knew that he didn't believe me.
It didn't matter. One day, I'd make him believe it.
He was as skilful as usual.
I lowered my eyes and bit my arm, not wanting to make a sound.
I had to endure it. Perhaps everything would turn out fine if I could just make it through this period of
time...
...
Leonard had too much stamina. He only let me go when it was two in the morning.
I was spread out on the bed and panting.
I probably looked like a fish on the brink of death.
Leonard got up and went to take a shower. For a moment, I wished that he would drown in there.
Unfortunately, he was soon done. He walked out of the bathroom, wiping his hair with a towel.
I asked him, "When can I see Grandma?"
To me, this was the most important thing at the moment.
"Are you that anxious?" Leonard scoffed. He threw the wet towel onto the floor.
What a b*stard. He wasn't the one doing the washing.
I gnashed my teeth at the sight of the dirty towel.
Leonard put on his pants and sat down next to me. "There's a saying that goes "Haste makes waste". I
think you've probably heard of it before."
"That's not the only saying I've heard of. Let me tell you another one." I propped myself up on the bed.
"Someone will show their sincerity when they really want to do a deal."
Leonard raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "Is there such a saying?"
I smiled. "It doesn't matter. It fits the situation perfectly."
Leonard looked at me pointedly before putting his shirt on. He picked his suit jacket up and flipped it
over his shoulder before heading towards the door.
Was he going to go back on his word?
I watched him closely, feeling like my stomach was twisted into knots.
Perhaps Leonard hadn't even thought about any stupid deals. Perhaps he'd just been lying to me. It
was always easier to trick an anxious person...
I let my imagination run wild. The more I thought about it, the more anxious I became.
Leonard reached the door and pulled out his phone. He glanced at it, then said to me, "Tomorrow, after
three o'clock."
"After three o'clock?" I repeated.
...
Leonard became a little impatient. "Yes, I have a deal to go over tomorrow and I'll only have time to go
see those pests at the Jones family after three o'clock. You'll only be able to go to the hospital to see
your grandmother after then. Got it?"
"Yeah." I nodded, feeling reassured.
...
Leonard pushed the door open slightly, ready to leave.
Now that Grandma's matters were taken care of, my mind started working normally again. I recalled
how he'd referred to the Jones family as pests. Did that mean that he detested them as well?
"Leonard, wait a minute."
I couldn't suppress my curiosity and called out for him to stop.
Leonard didn't turn around. "What?"
"It's... it's nothing, really." I licked my lips. "If you hate the Jones family, why are you with Phoebe?"
Leonard turned around and looked at me, his gaze sharp. It made me extremely uncomfortable.
"I don't really need to know." I lost my nerve and started to shoo him. "I'm tired and I want to sleep."
"Phoebe's an ideal marriage partner."
To my surprise, Leonard started to answer my question. "And you aren't. Even if I don't like the Jones
family, there's no way you'll be able to marry me. Ever."
With that, he left.
I was lost for words, propped up in bed.
Did the b*stard think that I wanted to marry him?
I'd thought about taking things one step further, but all I'd wanted was to be his girlfriend...
God knew that I'd never even thought about marrying him!
I wanted to call him back to tell him just what I thought, but the sound of his footsteps had already
faded away.
In other words, he was gone.
I was so frustrated. After a while, I screeched, "Leonard, you b*stard!"Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
