Part 84 # Settling the Score
Lara widened her eyes. How could Andre tease her like that? “Ndre! We’re in the hospital!” exclaimed Lara, turning her face away. ‘Hopefully Andre didn’t notice my flushed face,’ she thought as she cupped her face with her hands.
“Come here,” Andre turned Lara around, who had her back to him earlier. Now, their faces were facing each other, and of course, Andre planted a kiss!
“Aaah….” Lara sighed, and for the umpteenth time, they kissed passionately on Lara’s bed.
The incident was nothing out of the ordinary for them, but it was for… Miriam!
The woman who Andre had proclaimed as his former fiancee was shocked to see the lewd scene on Andre’s patient’s bed. “It’s… it’s so inappropriate! Damn it!” But instead of recording and providing evidence to the disciplinary committee, Miriam ran away crying.
She then took out her phone and dialed Seno’s number. “Sir. I want to proceed with option two.”
The female doctor’s voice trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes again. Miriam was truly hurt, and she was going to get rid of Lara!

“Andre. Stop! It’s not appropriate for a doctor like you to be intimate with a patient like me! Isn’t that against the code of ethics?” Lara pushed Andre’s chest away when she heard the nurse about to enter their room.
“Excuse me,” the nurse said. Andre immediately stood up straight and pretended to take notes on his patient’s progress.
“I’ll change her IV first, okay, Doc,” the nurse said, smiling at the doctor. He then carried out his daily tasks and asked about Lara’s condition. “It seems like you can be discharged soon, right, Doc?” he asked after making sure Lara was far from being in danger.
“Yes, I’ll make sure of it later.”
“Okay. Rest well,” The nurse said goodbye before leaving. There was a sense of relief on Andre and Lara’s faces after the door closed behind him.
“Ugh!” Lara pretended to sulk. Andre hadn’t even explained his behavior, which was like that of a wild animal.
“Sorry. I… got carried away,” Andre approached Lara again. This time, he promised not to touch her.
“What if someone saw, Ndre? You could get fired!” Lara said worriedly. Andre just laughed.
“Well, if I get fired, I’ll just work somewhere else. Problem solved, right?”
“Underestimating!”
“What else can I do? After all… you’re so beautiful.”
Lara blushed and felt awkward. Andre was indeed good at turning things around. “Forget it. So, Doctor Andre, when can I go home?” Lara asked seriously. She wanted to go see her former nanny and ask about her mother’s legacy.
“Maybe the day after tomorrow you can go home. Today, make sure to rest properly, okay?”
“Okay, Doctor,” Lara replied, saluting like a soldier. Andre wanted to kiss her even more. “Alright, go! Get to work!” Lara shooed him away and pretended to curl up on her bed again.
“Sure, Honey. After my shift ends, I’ll be back,” Andre said, kissing Lara’s forehead, even though she was already asleep with her back to him.
“Bu–stubborn,” Lara murmured with a fluttering heart. Andre truly made everything sweet and surprising!
“See you later.”
They parted with smiles on their faces. Even though Lara didn’t show her face, Andre was sure she was just as happy.
“Ah, if only moments like this came sooner,” Andre muttered as he closed Lara’s room door. However, he didn’t know that it was their last encounter.

The midday sun was scorching, and the hospital was bustling, but… Lara’s room remained empty. She had no family.
The blue sky stretched wide and looked beautiful from the large window in Lara’s room. She stared at the expanse of white clouds merging with the blue sky while reading. Waiting for Andre to finish his shift was truly tiring. Lara suddenly felt sleepy.
“Yawn,” She couldn’t stop yawning, but the novel “Revenge on My Bastard Husband” was very exciting. The main character’s story resembled her life. Lara felt inspired to turn her bitter experiences into a book.
“Would anyone even buy it? Hehe… why bother reading other people’s life stories?” Lara chuckled to herself. But, actually, what she experienced was truly like a story in a romance novel. The difference was, her story fell into the thriller genre, not pure romance. Sometimes, Lara also felt that the scriptwriter of her life was so troublesome.
“If only my life were written by someone… I’d definitely visit their house and protest! The writer is so cruel!” Lara grumbled irritably while flipping through the pages of the nearly finished novel.
When her eyes were still focused on the book, a knock startled her.
“Who?” Lara asked silently because the nurse had already come to change her IV.
“Excuse me, Ms. Lara,” said the male nurse.
“Yes?” Lara replied.
“There’s a vitamin injection for you, Ma’am.”
“Oh, really?” Lara wondered because she hadn’t been informed before. And that voice, she seemed to recognize it, but… the nurse’s entire face was covered with a mask, and he also wore glasses. Lara didn’t recognize his facial features very well.
“Yes. and… sleep, Ms. Lara!” he whispered as he injected a sedative into Lara’s neck.
“What–” Lara instantly fell unconscious and fell into a deep sleep. She didn’t expect that the man was… Seno! Her ex-husband who had been trying to kill her all this time.
“You damn slut! I have to take care of you myself! Such a nuisance!”
After covering Lara’s entire body with a blanket, Seno then brought a wheelchair from the corner of the room. He seated Lara there and put on a mask and a head covering to avoid being recognized by anyone.
“Now, let’s go home, Honey.”
Seno pushed the wheelchair out of the room. Thanks to Dr. Miriam’s access, Seno could move freely. Apparently, a heart blinded by blind jealousy could act as cruelly as a lion.
That was how Miriam, who initially rejected the plan to make Lara disappear, eventually changed her mind. She only wanted to cooperate with Seno in business matters, but… Miriam eventually fell into the trap as well.
“If Lara disappears, then your competition will disappear too, right? Andre will be entirely yours.”
Seno’s coaxing was initially rejected outright by the specialist doctor, but… jealousy and burning vengeance strengthened what she should have avoided.
Miriam gave in. “I choose option two.”
Those keywords made Seno overjoyed. Finally, the failed mission could be attempted again for success. This time, Seno would take matters into his own hands. He was tired of various losers foiling his mission several times.
“Now, after you, I’ll deal with Mahya. Don’t worry, Lara, and sleep… forever!” Seno whispered behind Lara’s head, leaning over as he pushed the wheelchair.
Seno’s not-so-tall figure managed to fool everyone. He looked like an ordinary nurse pushing a patient for a stroll. His disguise was truly perfect.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Assistance from Dr. Miriam also facilitated his actions. The CCTV recording was temporarily stopped. Seno had 30 minutes to do everything, and that was more than enough.
“Now, Lara. Let’s do the unfinished business.”
A dark-tinted van approached them in the lobby. Quickly, two big guards captured the woman in the wheelchair and put her in the car.
A nod from Seno made the two men drive the car at a moderate speed and quickly leave the hospital area so as not to be caught.
“Meet me at headquarters.”
Seno briefly communicated with the communicator in his hand. A moment later, he disappeared into the crowd and changed his clothes as usual.

“Is… is Lara still alive?”
