Married
Married
Two months later. As both of them walked out of the registry, Henry smiled contentedly. He was finally married! And it was to the woman he loved with all his heart; Quinn. Quinn was also happy.... She finally felt that all the troubles she went through in the past, was worth it. After all, today, she had finally become a married woman. "When are we going to announce it to Father, and the others?" Henry had assumed calling Quinn's parents: father, mother, and the rest... "Soon... We have to fly over to Washington... We can't possibly announce it over the phone, can we?" Quinn smiled. They got to their car, and Henry hurriedly pulled the car open for her. Quinn smiled at his kind gesture... "What kind of marriage do you want?" Henry suddenly asked. Quinn who was seated close to him on the front passenger seat, raised her head and smiled at him. "Just a normal one. I don't want an extravagant wedding." She chuckled. She knew that with her identity, there was no way she could have an average wedding. Her parents would make sure of that... She chuckled helplessly. What could she do? "Let's fly over to Washington today? We may even throw a party..." Henry suggested. Quinn nodded. They could do just that... She leaned in and kissed him. She pulled back after a while, and smiled at him. "Where are headed to?" Henry leaned back in the driver's seat as his hands tapped the steering wheel. "The airport." Quinn simply said. ========================= Washington DC. The Stones family residence.
Quinn walked into the living room with Henry. Quinn chuckled when she saw Emelda with Nicole, as they laughed together.. Emelda turned and spotted her, "Mum!!" She raced over to her mother, and her mother scooped her in her arms. "Dad..." Emelda smiled at Henry. "Aren't I getting a hug?" Henry chuckled. Emelda jumped down from her mother's arms and hugged her father's legs tightly, "Dad... I missed you." Emelda sniffed. "Same here. Daddy missed you too." Henry bent down and picked her up. After their reconciliation a month ago, their bond had gotten closer. Their father and daughter relationship were getting stronger daily. They went over to the living room, "Mother..." Henry politely greeted Nicole. She smiled at him, "What took you guys so long to visit?" She chuckled. "Sorry mum, we were busy." Quinn apologized as she hugged her mother. "Busy? Emelda will be eleven next year, take a little while longer." Nicole shrugged. Quinn and Henry cleared their throats embarrassedly. How could she say something like that, with a straight face? And that too, without any embarrassment at all? "Mum.... Well, I'm now married." Quinn said calmly. She waited for her mum to speak, but her mother laughed instead. Quinn arched her brow in confusion. Did she say something funny? "Mum-" "We know.... You got married six hours ago, at the registry." Nicole smirked. "Wait mum, I'm I being monitored?" Quinn was amused. "Well, we couldn't help it. We wanted to make sure this young man was taking care of you well." Nicole shrugged. "I am taking care of her well, mother." Henry argued. At that moment a clear voice sounded from the top of the stairs, "Son, can you come up for a minute?" Sylvester asked. Henry nodded, he got up and made his way towards the stairs. ............ Sylvester led him into a study, and closed the door behind them. Henry was slightly surprised, when he saw Raphael sitting solemnly on the chair as he calmly took a sip of his coffee. "Grandfather." He bowed politely, as he drew closer to where he was sitting. "Take a seat." Raphael nodded at the vacant chair opposite his. Sylvester was already seated on a chair beside Raphael's. Henry nodded and sat on the chair. He then looked at them calmly. "Years ago, the Stones were happy when a little girl was born into the family," Raphael began. Henry listened intently, though he was wondering why Raphael was telling him something like that. However, he didn't interrupt. "She was my granddaughter- Michelle Stone. However, she disappeared when she was a year old...." Raphael paused to look at Henry. His eyes were reddened; he could never get over the pain he had felt that day. The fear... Henry nodded; who didn't know about the disappearance of the Stones heiress? "But then, eight years ago, she was.... found." Raphael revealed. Henry frowned in puzzlement. She was found? Then why did they adopt Quinn? Did they need another daught- 'Fuck.' He smacked his head in realization. Raphael had said eight years ago.... That was the time when Quinn had left the mansion. They didn't adopt Quinn, because.... she was Michelle Stone! "Is she-?" He trailed off... He couldn't believe it. After that day, he had thought that Quinn was the foster daughter of the Stones. However, she was their actual daughter! "Yes, Quinn is Michelle Stone." Raphael clarified.
Henry nodded. Why didn't he think of it? With their level of influence, the Stones didn't need to adopt a grown up lady at all.... And even if they wanted to, they would have done so years ago. Why had they waited for long, before adopting a daughter? "I'm sorry, I didn't realize." Henry felt like facepalming himself. "It's fine.... We intentionally concealed the truth. That is because, the person that kidnapped my granddaughter is still at large. We don't want to endanger her once more." Raphael said solemnly. Henry turned to look at Sylvester who was watching him closely. "We intend to hold a party. The party would be for two things; firstly, to announce the fact that you guys are married. Secondly, we plan to announce her real identity." Raphael explained. Henry nodded in understanding, "That would be a good idea." He said. "That's by the way. You have officially become the son-in-law of the Stones. However, that's not the point. Listen to me clearly.... If I find out that you hurt my daughter, even once, then I will completely destroy you." Raphael vowed with a serious expression. "I understand, grandfather. I love Quinn so much to even hurt her. I would never try that." Henry said solemnly. Raphael looked at him closely. Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, he nodded, "That's good then."
