Redmption 246
Redmption 246
My palm kept itching. There was an old saying-“An itchy right palm means money’s coming, and an itchy left palm means trouble“.
I had a bad feeling. But even knowing the dangers ahead, I still had to face them. However, I wasn’t about to walk into trouble unprepared, so I sent a message to Derick.
“Derick, I’m going to meet Eden. Keep an eye out for me.”
There was no immediate response. He was probably training. He was training, not sleeping in. Derick was preparing for a competition, and his life was all about practicing billiards and intense physical workouts. Sleeping in wasn’t an option for him.
I
I wasn’t worried he would miss the message. He would definitely see it after his training. Besides, I still had time before meeting Eden.
Taking a deep breath, I pressed down on the gas pedal and headed straight for Sylking Sanatorium.
When I arrived, Eden’s imposing Range Rover was already parked at the sanatorium’s entrance. Meanwhile, Eden was practicing either karate or taekwondo.
Whether he was genuinely practicing or just putting on a show, it was certainly more refined than smoking or scrolling through his phone. It was also his way of letting me know he had been waiting for a while
I parked the car and walked over quickly. I apologized as soon as I got close. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Griffins.”
Eden finished his practice, pressed his hands down, and took a deep breath. Then, he looked at me and said, “Waiting for a beautiful lady is never a chore.”
His playful tone never seemed to change. I forced a smile and said, “Shall we go in now?”
He frowned slightly. “Are you going in like this?”
I was taken aback by the question. After a moment, I finally realized what he meant. It dawned on me that arriving empty–handed was a bit improper.
I couldn’t admit it directly, so I made an excuse. “Sorry. It’s so early that I couldn’t find a flower shop open.
Eden chuckled. He was clearly amused by my flimsy excuse. Without a word, he raised his arm and snapped his fingers. Immediately, someone approached with a bouquet of fresh flowers.
“I had these prepared for you,” Eden said with a smile as he had his assistant, Robbie Mack, hand the flowers to me.
I felt a bit embarrassed, but I accepted the flowers anyway. “You’re very thoughtful, Mr. Griffins. Thank you.
Eden’s words were full of self–praise. “I only show such thoughtfulness and attention to beautiful women.”
I could only agree. “Mr. Griffins, you’re indeed a considerate person.”
Eden raised an eyebrow and said, “I’m glad you think so.
“Of course,” I said, but I already inwardly cursed his excessive chatter.
So, I directly asked, “Mr. Griffins, can we go in now?”
Eden shrugged and said, “Maddie, I don’t know how much you know about my dad, but he has a peculiar
habit, especially in these past two years, with his health not being the best and all the little issues he’s been facing.”
The corners of my mouth twitched. It was the first time I had heard someone speak about their father like.
this.
I wasn’t foolish. I knew he was hinting at me. “Mr. Griffins, please let me know if there’s anything specific. I will make sure to be careful.”
Eden checked his watch and said, “My dad doesn’t see strangers.”
“So it seems I’ll have trouble you a bit more today, Mr. Griffins.” I tried to sound very polite. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Eden shrugged a bit. “You’re understanding. I won’t beat around the bush. You can meet my dad, but you’ll need to take on a different role.”
I was a bit confused. “Mr. Giffins, please be straightforward.”
