Chapter 1678
Chapter 1678
It was one day before the wedding when Vicky heard about the news.
Wedding planning was really a tedious chore. There were a lot of things she had to take charge of, causing her to be so busy that she did not even get a break.
She immediately called Tyler when she saw the news, but the phone kept ringing. Only when it was about to go to voicemail did he finally answer. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
“Vicky.”
“Tyler, I saw the news! Has the Yeagers started targeting Hart Corporation?” she asked worriedly.
Vicky knew this day would come after Avery and Tyler had a fallout, but she did not expect it to come so soon.
“There’s nothing to worry about. They only pulled out on some of the projects,” said Tyler calmly.
“But the news reported that all the projects they pulled out of are the most important ones for Hart Corporation. There would be a chain reaction that would ultimately culminate in your family fortunes being depleted.”
“I know what I’m doing,” said Tyler passively as though he had everything under control.
Vicky gradually calmed down as well. She knew very clearly what Tyler was capable of and told herself he must have prepared for this from the moment he called off the wedding with Avery. Thus, she told herself she was worrying for nothing.
“Okay. Sorry for bothering you. You may carry on now,” she said.
Their wedding was happening the next day, but Tyler had to work today as they would be going on their honeymoon—of which the destination Vicky chose herself—straight after the wedding. He had to finish his work before that.
Vicky was about to hang up the phone when Tyler suddenly called out her name.
“Vicky.”
“Yes? Anything else?” she asked softly.
“Don’t forget to miss me.”
Vicky’s heart skipped a beat. “You too.”
It was tradition that the bride and groom could not see each other the night before the wedding, so Tyler would not be going home that night.
They decided to forgo some of the noisier traditions since they had been married before, and Tyler preferred quietness.
Vicky declined to invite the reporters or do a livestream for the wedding ceremony. She decided to keep it small and low-key by inviting only friends and families.
She hung up the phone after chatting for a while more.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought you guys have just started dating,” teased Aurora good- naturedly. “You two couldn’t even go one day without seeing each other.”
Vicky started blushing.
“So what did he say about the Yeagers pulling out of the projects?” asked Aurora.
“He told me not to worry, saying he knows what he’s doing.”
Aurora nodded absent-mindedly. “Yeah, I’m sure he can handle it with his capabilities.”
She was more interested in the wedding tomorrow.
“So the bridesmaids would be me, Cece, Jennifer, and Ava… By the way, how reliable is Ava?”
