Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Going For The Meeting

“Oh…. um… that’s fine.” she said, but she was still feeling uncomfortable with the sleeping arrangement.

How could she possibly share the same bed with him?

Ugh!

This was definitely not what she signed up for.

Alexander, who noticed her discomfort, spoke to ease the unease in the room.

“Well…. I.. um… could sleep on the couch if you are feeling uncomfortable sharing the same bed with me.” he suggested.

Marissa appreciated Alexander’s gesture.

“Oh, that would be great, thank you. I mean, it’s a bit awkward sharing a bed with someone you just met.”

Alexander smiled.

“Well…. I’m not someone you just met. I’m your fake husband so… there’s a difference.”

“Yeah… I know… but…. you know we agreed not to sleep in the same room throughout our contract agreement.” she said.

“I know Marissa. That’s why I offered to sleep on the couch while you enjoy the coziness of the bed.” he said.

She sat down and looked at him with an amusing look on her face. Alexander wondered why she was looking at him that way and decided to ask.

“Why are you staring at me like that? Did I say something wrong?” he asked.

“Nope! It’s just that…. you have really changed, Alexander.” she confessed, raising her hand up.

“Like you have literally changed into someone I never thought you could be.”C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

“Well there’s a saying that Never judge a book by it’s cover huh.” he said

Marissa chuckled,

“You’re right, Alexander. And I appreciate your willingness to make things more comfortable for both of us.”

As they prepared for bed, Marissa changed into some comfortable nightwear while Alexander made himself a makeshift bed on the couch.

As she settled into the soft, inviting bed, Marissa couldn’t help but appreciate the changes she had seen in him.

The Alexander she had first met was arrogant and self-centered, but now he appeared to be considerate and understanding. It was almost like he was a different person.

The room was plunged into darkness, and the only sound was the occasional rustle of Alexander adjusting on the couch.

Alexander, with a faint smile, settled on the couch, realizing that their faux-marital escapade was challenging his preconceptions as well.

He couldn’t deny the changes that had started to occur between them.

While she was lying in the soft, luxurious bed, couldn’t help but think about the oddity of her situation.

A fake marriage, sharing a hotel room with a billionaire, and the excitement of the coming business breakfast – it was all so surreal.

But with a sense of determination, she reminded herself why she was here. It was for her brother, for his treatment, and his future.

This strange arrangement might be her ticket to securing the funds they needed.

With that thought, she drifted off to sleep, ready for the adventures that awaited in the beautiful Swiss landscape.

And in the darkness, Alexander, lying on the couch, tried to suppress his thoughts and remember that it was just a business deal. His feelings, whatever they were, had no place here.

The next morning, Marissa woke up early as she usually did at home. She yawned and stretched and got out of bed.

She tiptoed to her door and gently opened it to check if Alexander was awake, but he was still fast asleep.

She smiled and then closed the door gently so as not to wake him up. She took her box and opened it to bring out the outfit she would wear for the breakfast meeting with Alexander’s potential business partners.

She checked the time and realized that it was 7 in the morning and decided to look out the window to admire the beautiful country again she though she might never see in her lifetime.

Marissa set aside some time to take a refreshing shower, appreciating the warm water as it washed away the sleep from her body.

She used her favorite shower gel, savoring its familiar scent, a small comfort in this new and unfamiliar adventure.

After the shower, she wrapped herself in a fluffy white towel and began selecting her attire for the business breakfast.

She decided on a classic navy blue pantsuit that made her feel confident and professional.

She meticulously combed her hair, applied light makeup, and added a touch of her favorite perfume.

Marissa took one last look in the mirror, making sure everything was perfect.

She felt ready to face the challenges of the day and make a positive impression at the important meeting.

She walked out of the room thinking that Alexander was still sleeping, but he was already awake going through his files.

“Good morning.” She greeted him.

“Good morning, Marissa,” Alexander replied, looking up from his files with a warm smile.

“You look great. Ready for the big meeting?”

Marissa smiled back, feeling a bit more at ease with the new Alexander she was getting to know.

“Yes, I’m ready. I hope I can make a good impression.”

Alexander nodded.

“You’ll do great, I’m sure of it. These guys are serious business partners, but they appreciate professionalism.”

Marissa couldn’t help but ask, “What do you think they’re going to be like?”

Alexander leaned back in his chair, considering the question.

“Well, they’re successful businessmen. They can be a bit intimidating, but they also know how to make a good deal.

Just be yourself, and remember, you’re there representing our company. Confidence is key.”

She appreciated his advice and nodded.

“Thank you. It’s just… I haven’t done this before, you know? All this business stuff.”

Alexander gave her an encouraging pat on the shoulder.

“No worries. You’re a quick learner, and I’ll be there with you. If anything, we make a great team.”

Marissa was touched by his supportive words.

“Thank you, Alexander. I appreciate your help and advice.”

“Anytime.” he said, as he stretched and got up.

“Let me get ready for the meeting.”

He walked into the room and closed the door behind him.

“Are we gonna eat something before we go or… we are gonna wait till 10am to have breakfast?” she asked him.
