Her Decision
Marissa who after she entered the Cab wasn’t quite happy about everything but she knew that it was a business arrangement and not that she and Alexander were actually married.
It was a fake marriage. But why is she feeling so sad that everything was about to end? Was she happy that she was in this whole fake marriage with Alexander?
She shook herself reminding herself not to be greedy and seek what doesn’t belong to her.
Alexander was never hers from the beginning. They started as business partners and nothing more until her feelings started growing for him.
Now she realized that her being with Alexander has almost cost him his relationship with Jessie for they were on the verge of breaking up.
What could she do to fix things? She knew that Alexander loved Jessie and it wouldn’t be good of her to separate the two of them to get what she wants.
Then she decided to not go home but go to the hospital and spend the night with her brother Samuel.
As the cab got to the hospital, Marissa alighted and entered the hospital. She greeted the nurse on duty and entered her brother’s ward.
Her brother was not sleeping as he was watching a movie on his bed.
“Hey, stranger.” she said, a small smile on her face.
“Sis! What are you doing here? I thought you were not coming until tomorrow?” he said, surprised at his sister’s sudden unexpected visit.
Marissa smiled at her brother. “I just had to come see you. I wanted to make sure you’re okay. How are you feeling?”
Samuel smiled back at her. “I’m doing okay. I’m just a bit bored, but the nurses here have been really nice and they’ve kept me entertained.”
Marissa sat down on the chair next to his bed. “That’s good to hear. I’m glad you’re in good hands. What have they been doing to keep you entertained?”
“Well, they’ve been bringing me books to read, they’ve been letting me watch TV and movies, and they’ve even been letting me play video games! It’s been great,” Samuel said with a grin.
Marissa smiled. “That’s awesome! I’m so glad they’re taking good care of you. How are you feeling about everything that happened?” she asked gently.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Samuel’s smile faded slightly. “It’s been a lot to take in. I’m still processing everything. It’s weird to think that I could have died.”
Marissa took her brother’s hand and squeezed it gently. “I know it must be really difficult to deal with. I’m so glad you’re okay. I can’t even imagine how I would feel if something had happened to you.”
Samuel smiled at her. “Thanks, sis. It means a lot to me that you’re here for me.”
Marissa smiled back. “Of course, Sam. You ‘re my brother, and I’ll always be here for you, no matter what.”
Samuel looked down at his hands, which were resting on the bed. “It’s just been so hard to think about how different everything could have been. If I hadn’t been sick, things would be so different.
I’d still be able to play baseball, or study for exams and do other cool fun things in school. ”
Marissa listened to her brother, her heart breaking
“I know that this is really hard on you, Sam. But you have to remember that you’re still you.
Just because your body is different now doesn’t mean that who you are has changed. You’re still the same person, and you can still do great things.”
Samuel looked at his sister, his eyes filling with tears. “But I can’t do all the things I used to be able to do.
I’ll never be able to play baseball again. That was my passion. And now it’s gone.”
Marissa could see the pain in her brother’s eyes. “I know that losing something you love is really hard. But I also know that you’re resilient and strong. You’re going to find new passions and things you love. And even though you won’t be able to play baseball, you can still be a part of the sport. You can be a coach, or a mentor, or a manager. There are so many ways you can still be involved in the game you love.”
Samuel looked at his sister, with a sad face.
“How sis? Look at me, I feel like I might never leave this hospital because everyday, I’d have to depend on drugs and surgery to survive.
It’s hard and sometimes I feel like giving up sister.” he expressed himself as tears flowed down his face.
Marissa felt her heart break at her brother’s words. She walked over to him and pulled him into a tight hug.
“I know this is hard, and it’s okay to feel sad and upset. But I also want you to know that you are not alone. You have me and I care about you. I am here for you, no matter what.
And we will be here for you through every step of your journey.”
Samuel hugged his sister tightly, feeling the love and support she was giving him. He realized that even though things were difficult, he had his sister in his life who cared about him and wanted him to succeed.
He might not be able to play baseball anymore, but he could find new passions and interests that would bring him joy.
He thought about all the things he could do, even though he couldn’t play baseball.
He could still be involved in the sport by coaching or becoming a sports commentator.
He could even go back to school and get a degree in sports management. There were so many possibilities, and he felt a little bit excited about the future.
Marissa could see a change in her brother Samuel’s eyes were no longer downcast, but instead they were bright and hopeful. His shoulders were no longer slumped, but instead they were straight and tall.
His face was no longer sad, but instead it was full of possibilities. Marissa knew that her brother was on the road to healing and that he would be okay.
“I’m glad we had this talk, sis. I feel a lot better now.” Samuel said, giving her a big smile.
“I’m glad we talked too. You can always come to me if you need to talk, okay?” Marissa replied. “I’m here for you, no matter what.”
Samuel nodded, feeling a new sense of strength and determination. “I’m going to take some time to figure out what I want to do next. But I know that I’ll be okay. Thanks again for everything, sis.”
“Of course, that’s what family is for. Now, go get some rest.” Marissa said, giving him a hug and then covered him to sleep and put off the tv and slept next to him on the floor.
Just then she made a decision to call Jessie and straighten things out for her and Alexander.
