Chapter 134 I Only Want You
"It's just a precaution!" Stella gently placed her hand on her lower abdomen, offering a tender yet
resolute smile.
"In case we do have a child, we need to be prepared. But I wanted to get this insurance for your
sake..."
Her fingers intertwined with Noah's, her heart brimming with thoughts of him.
"Darling... this is my first pregnancy, and I'm feeling a bit anxious. I've been reading a lot of information
lately. I'm concerned that if anything were to happen, like some of the posts online suggest, I-"
"What are you saying?!" His expression darkened, and he gazed at Stella with stern resolve. "Don't let
your mind wander into unverified claims. Nothing will happen to you!"
"Don't be upset!" She leaned on his shoulder. "I'm only suggesting that you should remember to make
use of this money if such a situation were to ever arise."
"There won't be any such situation! None at all!" Noah could not help but release a low, fierce growl,
and his dark and menacing countenance even startled her.
She stared at him in astonishment, her heart racing.
His reaction had been swift, and he tore the two insurance policies into tatters with a few brisk
movements.
The world suddenly fell silent.
The heavy and stifling presence surrounding Noah instinctively prompted Stella to take a step back.
"Darling..."
He snapped back to reality and realized he had inadvertently frightened her.
Swiftly, he enfolded her in his arms, his voice deep and reassuring. "I didn't mean to get angry with you. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I just wanted to emphasize that such accidents won't happen. Even if something unexpected were to
occur..."
Noah's eyes darkened, and he declared with a gravelly undertone, "I don't want a child. I only want
you!"
Stella's heart swelled with warmth, and her nose tingled with emotion. She tenderly stroked his broad
back with her petite hand.
"Silly, what are you saying? Do you really mean it? Are you willing to give up having a child?"
"I am," he responded without hesitation.
She could not help but chuckle and playfully pinched Noah's cheek. Her bright, mischievous eyes
gleamed like stars.
He bore a solemn and imposing expression, which might have seemed rather intimidating, but Stella
understood it stemmed from his anxiety.
"Alright." She gently said, "From this moment on, we won't bring up these unsettling matters. We'll both
live to be a hundred, and we'll grow old together like a pair of wily old souls. How does that sound?"
A faint smile finally graced his face.
Nevertheless, this incident had served as a poignant wake-up call for him.
A few days later, Noah met with Caleb at the law firm. "How did the matter I asked you to handle last
time progress?"
Caleb stroked his chin thoughtfully and displayed several template documents on his computer.
"Noah, regarding that insurance you brought up, I think it would be more fitting for you to personally
draft a declaration affirming that all your assets are to be equally shared with Stella or something along
those lines. It seems like the more appropriate route."
"Would such a declaration hold legal weight?" Whenever it pertained to Stella's interests, Noah always
wanted to ensure its legal validity.
Caleb smiled. "As long as it goes through notarization, it will unquestionably carry legal weight!"
"Good."
"But, Noah, are you absolutely certain about this?"
"Since she's my wife, it's only natural that everything I possess should belong to her."
Although the formal marriage certificate was still pending, he wanted to ensure Stella's security.
"If you go through with this, it will swiftly reach Sir Martinez's ears. After all, you are the most promising
heir of the Martinez Group, and your wealth is beyond measure."
Noah exhaled a smoke ring slowly, his gaze deepening.
"I'm not concerned if he finds out. Stella will eventually become a part of the Martinez family."
Caleb nodded, comprehending his resolve.
While Stella might not currently be accepted by the Martinez family, Noah's actions compel the family to
acknowledge her status.
Irrespective of everything, he would stand by her side and confront the world with her.
"By the way, Noah." Caleb's countenance darkened as he lowered his voice. "I stumbled upon
something rather unexpected while researching commercial insurance."
Noah furrowed his brow. "What is it?"
"Have a look at this."
Caleb passed him a document.
Noah perused it briefly and emitted a derisive snort.
Before Noah headed on a private plane to Oplad for business negotiations, Christopher had presented
him with this substantial insurance policy respectfully and solemnly.
Christopher had claimed that the policy was meant to provide security if air travel posed any risks.
It encompassed various insurance facets, spanning different contingencies, and designated Noah's
father, Alton, as the beneficiary.
"Uncle Christopher certainly knows how to put on a performance. It's as though he's meticulously
considering me in every possible way." Noah sneered, tossing the document onto the table.
"I had almost forgotten about this until you jogged my memory."
"Noah, take a closer look!" Caleb gave him a meaningful look.
Perplexed, Noah scrutinized the document meticulously. He eventually stumbled upon something
peculiar on the final page of the document!
"Charlie Wright?" He could not help but raise his voice. "What's the meaning of this?"
Caleb offered a meaningful smile. "That's my unexpected find."
"When Christopher handed you that policy, your father was listed as the beneficiary. But this policy has
been altered in secret, and the new beneficiary is Charlie Wright."
Noah's eyes narrowed slightly, and a glint of cold flickered within them.
Initially, he had dismissed the insurance policy, regarding it as a mere pretense orchestrated by
Christopher. After all, Christopher had a history of maintaining facades to gain Noah's grandfather's
favor, but Noah had never anticipated that a plane crash would come into play.
"So, you're saying that if I had indeed died in that plane crash..." He spoke in a deep, measured tone.
"This insurance payout of over millions of dollars would have ended up in Charlie Wright's hands?"
"Yes," Caleb responded, affirming that it would be conducted discreetly.
Noah's countenance darkened as he muttered Charlie's name.
"I looked into the Wright family." Caleb continued, "They hold sway in the Ewica region and are active
in the fields of information technology and pharmaceuticals."
Noah nodded in acknowledgment.
The Wright family had never engaged in any prior dealings or collaborations with the Martinez family in
Emberfall. Thus, Noah could not help but wonder about the underlying motive for Charlie's association
with Christopher.
It was evident that there was more to delve into.
Noah extinguished his cigarette and was about to rise when his phone abruptly buzzed.
"Liam, it's me." Aiden's voice on the other end conveyed a hint of urgency. "Are you occupied at the
moment?"
"Not particularly. What's the matter?"
"Could you come and be with Stella? She's... not in the best emotional state."
Noah's heart clenched. "What's wrong with her?"
As Aiden could not fully explain over the phone, he implored Noah to head to the hospital as swiftly as
possible.
...
Stella emerged from Aiden's office, appearing bewildered. Her complexion was ashen, and her gaze
was vacant as she settled in the corridor.
Her heart raced within her chest, and her breath was erratic. She shivered, a chill coursing down her
spine.
Aiden's words reverberated in her mind.
"Stella, the test results have come in. In truth... you were never pregnant. But, from your tests, I
discovered something else."
