Chapter 1838
Chapter 1838
John raised his palm and rest it on top of Sherry’s head. He said in a comforting voice, “It’s not that | don’t want them to be together. What | want is for Caprice to be in a relationship with a man that she likes, and for that man to be someone who would reciprocate her feelings and is capable of caring for her.”
Sherry pointed out, “That's Liam, isn’t it?” John shook his head, his expression skeptical. “I’m not seeing it. “He’s just a little emotionally distant. Sylvia talked to me about it as well. She’s sure Liam has feelings for Caprice.”
John scoffed, “Caprice is a sensible and empathetic girl. Of course, the Carters will want her as their daughter-in-law. As for Liam, that boy is like a block of ice. I've never seen any display of emotions from him at all. Even if we are to allow the two to date, it has to wait until Caprice graduates, and until he learns to clearly express his feelings for her.”
Sherry pursed her lips. John made some reasonable points.
Liam was too stoic for his own good at times. His entire life, he had never opened himself up to anyone except Caprice and his family members. This temperament was only further reinforced as he grew into adulthood. However, nobody could deny that his was a brilliant mind destined for success, and the development of the world-renowned Carter Tech City was a testament to his abilities.
In truth, even his parents had trouble figuring out what exactly was on his mind.
Caprice was still relatively young, and they were not in a rush to marry her off.
In Caprice’s room, Madam Stockton sat next to her.
Caprice was munching on some snacks Madam Stockton brought for her while the madam was jovially chatting with Emerence.
Caprice was left to entertain herself on the phone. She was looking at the group chat with her roommates. Everyone had returned to their hometowns safely.
Piper was the first to get home. Lana was the last to depart and had just arrived as well.
Freya was still on the bullet train on the way to her hometown. She was going to stay in her hometown for a week before heading back to Westchester since she had a part-time job lined up. She would work until the next semester began.
Caprice also sent a message, informing everyone she had got home as well. Then, she decided to text Liam. She wanted to ask if his business trip was progressing smoothly.
She suddenly recalled that he had a girlfriend now. he presumed that Heather would be coming along with him for the business trip.
When they were on their way to Glanchester, it had only been her and Liam in the car. She figured that Heather must have come separately and that she would meet up with Liam soon.
With that in mind, she decided against texting Liam.
She set down her phone and planned to take a short nap.
That was when her phone suddenly rang. It was a text from somebody.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
She picked up her phone and saw a message from Moses. “Hey, Caprice, have you arrived in your hometown yet?” Caprice replied swiftly, “Hey, Moses. Yeah, | just got home.”
Moses replied, “Alright, have a fun summer break.”
Caprice sent a smiling emoji.
That was the end of their conversation.
She suddenly rose from the bed.
When Madam Stockton noticed that she was headed somewhere, she asked out of curiosity,” Where are you going?” Caprice told her, “There’s something | want to discuss with Mom and Dad.”
Madam Stockton spoke tenderly, “Alright, make sure you come back after your talk. | told our kitchen staff to make something delicious for you.”
Caprice smiled and nodded before heading out. She wanted to talk to her parents about finding potential investors for Moses’ company.
Shortly after, she stepped into the adjacent courtyard and waltzed into the living room.
When she approached the threshold leading into the living room, she chanced upon the sight of her mother straddling herself around John. The two were sharing an intimate moment, exchanging kisses.
It seemed like the ravages of time had done nothing to them. They looked just as young and vibrant as they did in the past. It was a loving sight to behold.
Caprice felt like she was intruding on something she was not supposed to see. She hurriedly covered her face in embarrassment and tried to flee the scene.
