Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Chapter 1840

Chapter 1840

It seemed like a good idea. She navigated to Liam's profile.

He put up a new post only two minutes ago.

It was captioned “Working” and was coupled with a picture of Carter Tech City.

He must have taken the picture from inside his office. Several large pots of plants were framed in the picture as well, and what immediately caught her eye was the beautiful and clean floor-to- ceiling windows that offered a fantastic view of the cityscape.

The city bustled with life; it was the technological center of the region.

With its countless skyscrapers showcasing precise geometric lines in its architecture, it looked like a scene out of a sci-fi movie. Caprice tossed and turned on the couch for a while.

After roughly ten minutes had passed, she liked the post and commented, “Liam, the city looks wonderful.”

She took care to wait ten minutes before engaging with the post so that Liam wouldn't think that she was stalking hi,.

She was about to put the phone away when she received a reply to her comment. “You can come over to check the place out when you have time.”

Her eyes glowed like a miniature sun. She would love to visit, but she was concerned about how his girlfriend would feel about it, and she did not want to cause trouble.

No, she was not going to visit.

Still, she replied, “Sure!”

That was the end of their interaction.

Caprice went back to scrolling her feed. She refreshed the feed and saw several new posts made in the last ten minutes.

What caught her eye was a post by Heather. It was captioned: “Sneaking in a picture during working hours. The Carter Tech City is just as beautiful during the day as during the night! If anyone of you feels like visiting, please do! You'll love it here.”NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

She attached a picture of a view of the city along with the post. The picture she posted was very similar to the one posted by Liam, only from a slightly different angle.

Caprice could immediately tell that the picture was taken in Liam’s office. She suddenly felt a sting of bitterness and felt like throwing her phone away.

That was when Moses sent her a message.

He gave Caprice the latest update. “Caprice, thanks for securing investors for us! They promised a hefty investment and only demanded a relatively small portion of company shares in exchange.

We have just closed the deal and the first round of marketing push will begin very soon. Caprice was pleased to hear this and replied, “You're welcome.”

If everything went well and his new product was well-received in the market, the investors her mother contacted would profit as well. It was a win-win situation.

Moses suddenly asked, “Hey, do you mind if | ask you where your hometown is?” Caprice grew slightly suspicious. “Why do you want to know?” Moses replied, “I was thinking I'd treat you to a meal in person as a token of appreciation.”

Caprice appreciated the gesture. Her fingers rattled against the keyboard. “I appreciate it, Moses, but | live very far away from Westchester. I’m sure you have a lot of things on your plate right now. The meal can wait until after | come back for the next semester.”

Moses did not give her any pressure either. “Alright.”

Just as she thought this was the end of their conversation, he sent her another text. “By the way, what are you doing during this summer break?”

Caprice replied, “I don’t have any plans at the moment.”

Even without hearing the tone of Moses’ voice, she could tell that he was startled based on his reply. “I would assume you would have a lot of things lined up during this summer break. It didn’t take you long to help me find an investor at all!”

He seemed to be under the impression that Caprice was a very business-minded and motivated person.

The truth was that she had no concrete long-term plans to speak of. At most, she would dabble in some minor investments sometimes.

Caprice replied, “It just so happened that my mother is friends with several investors, so | forwarded your information to my mom

and asked her to set something up. The investors decided to put their trust in you because your proposal seems very promising.’ Moses replied, “I see. In that case, please thank your mother for me. | really appreciate the help.

Caprice answered politely, “Sure, I'll do that.”

There was no further response from Moses after that.

Moments before she put away her phone and prepared to look for something else to entertain. herself with, her phone rang again. It was a follow-up text from Moses. “Are you going to stay in your hometown for the whole summer break?”

It seemed like he sent this text after a great deal of consideration.

Was he trying to insinuate that Caprice should not be spending her summer break lazing around at home?
