Chapter 1859
Chapter 1859
Chapter 1859 Why did she need Heather to enter the city? She could simply go directly to Liam!
Heather was doing the same old thing of boasting about her status in Carter Tech City and rubbing her relationship with Liam in her face.
Then again, it had been a while since she last saw Isabel.
She considered for a moment before deciding, “Thanks for your offer. It is my off day today, but I’m not in the city right now. | don’t think | can make it there in time.”
“Well, that’s a shame. Isabel is going to be one of our ambassadors, and I'd love to introduce you to her if you came.” Caprice frowned. Why did she need Heather's help to see Isabel?
Furthermore, it sounded like Heather did not know about Isabel being Liam’s sister. It would make sense if the general public did not know, but she, of all people, should know.
Did Liam never mention that to her? Freya emerged from the bathroom.
Caprice was surprised to see her still sticking around the house since she should be at work by this hour, “Freya, aren’t you supposed to be working today?”
“Today is Saturday, so it’s my off day.” Freya flung the water off of her hands while approaching Caprice. She smiled cheerfully and nudged Caprice. “Caprice, get up and get ready. Let’s spend the day at Tech City.”
Caprice was taken aback by the sudden invitation. “You mean Carter Tech City?”
“Are there any other tech cities in Westchester?” Freya nudged her again. “Come on, get up! | got us on the guest list. Do you know that you need a special permit to visit?”
Caprice grimaced. She supposed she had no choice but to go at this point.
Around three in the afternoon, they arrived at the infamous Carter Tech City that lay on the outer edges of Westchester. It was located in the middle of a mountainous range with natural rivers flowing through the heart of the city.
The sky was a shade of pastel blue, and the air was refreshing to breathe. Countless towers made of steel and concrete punctured holes into the clouds and seemed to pierce into the heavens.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
The futuristic Carter Tech City was a strange contrast to its lush and natural surroundings. It was a strange blend that gave it an otherworldly presence.
Caprice had seen many pictures, but witnessing its grandeur in person was a completely different experience.
There was roughly another hour to go before the city would open its gates to the public, but there was already an enormous crowd gathered outside.
There were some amongst the crowd who, just like Caprice and Freya, managed to get themselves on the guest list. Many failed to reserve a spot but made the journey nonetheless, even if it was just to gawk at the marvelous city from the outside.
“My god, it's so majestic! | wonder who the owner of this place is.” People were amused and chattered amongst themselves. Freya loved listening in on the gossip and quickly inched closer, tugging Caprice along with her.
Someone else remarked, “Well, judging by the name Carter Tech City, | think it’s natural to assume that it has something to do with Carter Corporation.”
“Carter Corporation focuses on the industrial sector, don’t they? | don’t think they have ever dabbled in the science and technology sector.”
“That’s right. | have a friend who works at Carter Corporation. He told me that since the beginning stages of the construction of the Tech City, the headquarters have never provided any form of funding.”
“Are you suggesting that Carter Tech City was built by someone else who happened to go by the name Carter as well?” “Who knows? Either way, I’m sure this person is very resourceful.”
“That’s putting it lightly. It has to be someone unimaginably resourceful and brilliant to be able to bring the vision of a city like this to fruition.”
“It's probably someone pretty old. It must have taken a very long time to plan everything.”
“If | had to guess, it’s probably a middle-aged man, the stereotypical fat and balding businessman.”
“| would expect it to be an old man.”
Their wild speculations were way off and frankly quite ridiculous.
Caprice could not bear to stomach their nonsense anymore and exclaimed, “No, he’s a very handsome young man!” This drew their attention instantly.
“How do you know it’s a handsome young man? Have you ever seen him?” someone asked.
Caprice realized she made a mistake, and she stammered, “I... It was just a wild guess.”
“The little girl probably watches too many TV shows and confused reality with fiction.”
“Hahaha...... °
Everyone laughed at her expense.
