Chapter 1873
Chapter 1873
Only then did Mitch leave.
Isabel strode into Liam’s office.
The moment she stepped inside, she saw Liam’s intimidating figure perched on the leather chair behind the desk. He held a cup of tea in his hand as he stared at the view outside.
There was a deep frown on his eyebrows. She wondered what was on his mind.
She went up to him and proceeded to sit right on top of his desk without any fear. With her arms across her chest, she asked unabashedly, “Do you think Heather has a thing for you?”
Liam spoke dismissively, “I wouldn’t know.” Isabel jerked her lips to the side. That was a very characteristic reply of his.
For his entire life, he only cared about the people closest to him. As far as he was concerned, anybody else outside of this circle was completely invisible.
Since Heather was out of the picture now, Isabel hoped she would not show up again to cause trouble in the future.
She suddenly remembered her reason for coming here. “I saw Caprice just now. There was this guy who spoke to her for a while under a tree.”
This caught Liam’s attention at last. “What did they talk about?”
“This guy was there during the entire fiasco with the ticketing machine. He apologized to her for not being able to help her, then he asked her if they could continue to be friends in the future.”
“That’s all?”
“Yeah, | can tell he has feelings for Caprice.”
Liam frowned disapprovingly.
Isabel noticed his reaction and asked pointedly, “What’s on your mind anyways? Why haven't you done anything about Caprice?”
Liam fell into a pensive silence. He set the teacup on the table and reached for a stack of documents. “I have work to deal with, could you give me some space?”
He was trying to avoid the topic, and it was not subtle at all.
Isabel took a deep breath and removed herself from the surface of his desk. She made sure to reiterate her point. “You better make your move soon, or else she’s going to get snatched up by another guy. Don’t say | never warned you.”
With that, she walked out.
Liam immediately threw the stack of documents back on the table.
He frowned sharply as a wave of emotions gnawed at him.
Meanwhile, Caprice and Freya finally managed to squeeze their way out of the crowd gathered at Isa Tower.
The film crew members had just shown up and announced to the crowd’s disappointment that Isabel had already left. The crowd dispersed shortly after that.
Caprice and Freya walked around the city.
The sky above was black as ink, sprinkled with countless stars like glitter powder. Soon, the dazzling spotlights of the futuristic city were turned on and illuminated the sky above.
On top of the spectacular sights and landmarks, many exhibitions in Carter Tech City offered visitors a chance to tinker with all sorts of next-generation technology. This included virtual reality, remote-controlled robots, augmented reality, and more.
Due to the sheer volume of people pouring into these exhibitions, each person was only given five minutes to try out these latest inventions.
Caprice and Freya gave everything a go before going to a robot-operated restaurant for dinner.
With that, the touring hours were nearing its end.
The restaurants and exhibitions were closing.
Tourists gradually made their way toward the exit, concluding their unforgettable visit to Carter Tech City. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Caprice wanted to say goodbye to Isabel and Liam. She took Freya with her and headed to Liam’s office tower.
They bumped into Isabel at a nearby intersection.
She seemed to be on the lookout for something or someone. She was wearing the same cap and mask seen previously. Despite her disguise, Caprice instantly recognized her. “Isabel!”
Isabel took off her cap and mask and greeted her warmly, “Caprice, just in time, | was looking for you.”
Caprice and Freya went up to her.
“Why? Did you need anything from me?”
