Chapter 1946
Caprice did not linger. She walked out the gate and called a cab to take her to Carter Tech City. She completely discarded what Heather told her to the back of her mind.
She could hardly be bothered; all she cared about was seeing Liam as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Heather sat inside her car and spied on the taxi Caprice just hailed. She never planned to make the trip herself to confront Caprice. This was all Moses' fault. The buffoon of a man who did not know what was good for him and refused to cooperate with her.
Fortunately, it seemed like she successfully riled Caprice up. She seemed to be in a rush to get to Carter Tech City. Was she going to Liam to beg him to take her with him to this weekend's party?
Heather snorted scornfully.
If Liam refused, they would probably get into a fight.
On the other hand, if he did bring her along, it would certainly spice things up-
She chuckled to herself, impressed by her deviousness. She was already in cahoots with many of the attendees who were her friends, and she was going to make sure that the moment Caprice got to the party, she would be ostracized and realize that she did not belong there. She was a measly commoner who did not deserve to stand by Liam's side!
The taxi stopped at the entrance of Carter Tech City.
Caprice hopped out and walked in.
As usual, the security guard posted at the entrance immediately opened the gate for her the moment he saw her approaching. As soon as Caprice stepped past, she noticed two familiar figures coming her way.
It was Moses and Kenneth. They were both dressed in suits with stacks of documents in their hands, and they seemed to be discussing something serious.
When they noticed Caprice, they were jolted.
Moses turned to Kenneth. "Could you wait for me in the car? I'll catch up with you in a second." "Okay." Kenneth stole a glance at Caprice before heading to the car.
Moses approached Caprice.
"Caprice, are you here to see President Carter?" he asked with a pleasant smile. "Yeah, | guess you're here for business?" Caprice asked in a friendly voice. "Yeah," Moses said with a nod. "I'm off now. See you."
“Alright, see you."
They went their separate ways.
Caprice stepped into the city.
"One more thing," Moses suddenly called after her again.
She turned back to him. "What's up?"
Moses seemed to juggle the words in his mind for a while before starting, ” Do you remember Heather Manson from W Entertainment?"
"Yeah, what about her?"
"| have a feeling she has a thing for President Carter. Watch out for her."
Caprice smiled and said courteously, "| see. Thanks for telling me about this.”
"You're welcome." With nothing else to add, Moses turned and left.
Caprice had long known about Heather's hostility towards her, thus she was always on guard whenever she saw Heather. She discarded the thought and embarked on the shuttle. She was transported to Liam's office tower in just a few minutes. She went to the elevator like she owned the building, and not a single person stopped her.
When she got to the office, the door was closed.
She gently knocked on the door.

Was he not around?
She gently twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open. That was when she noticed Liam's figure leaning on the recliner in front of the French window.
The office was completely silent while he was resting.
Her eyes stirred. Then, she slowly tiptoed to Liam’s side. He was still sleeping, his eyes shut the entire time. His thick eyelashes cast faint shadows over his eyelids, highlighting how handsome he was.
He wore a loose black shirt with several buttons lined along the top left undone and the collar parted to the sides. Underneath the fabric were a fine Adam's apple and defined collarbones.
It was an indescribably alluring sight. Caprice gulped. She slowly stroked his collarbone with the tips of her fingers.
Liam's eyes were still closed with a peaceful expression on his face. He was in a deep sleep and hardly sensed her touch.
